The Herb Farm face cream is an awesome product, I have been using for about a year now and I love it. It is an affordable price. Its packaging is cute in a jar with a lid. I really like the smell of this face cream (it smells like roses) I don't find it to be too strong. The consistency of the cream is quite thick so you don't need to use a lot of the product. I find that this face cream works best on my face at night time after cleansing and toning, the next day when I wake up my skin feels so nice and soft and looks nice. I don't use this face cream during the day due to the thickness of it. Overall this is a great product and I would recommend it.

This product comes in a nice little jar but doesnt have a lot of information about it on the label. It is quite a thick, light pink cream. I wasnt sure i would like this product as im not a big fan of rose scented things but it is pretty subtle and the smell goes away not long after applying. Due to its thickness a little goes a long way so you dont need to use a lot. It leaves my skin feeling very nice and soft and it also leaves it feeling moisturized for the whole day, which is awesome if you have dry skin like mine.
I got this face cream in the BBBE NZ Brands 2 box. I was very happy to try it, as I've heard of The Herb Farm but hadn't tried any of their products. I was also prompted by getting this product to go to their website and learn a bit more about them. I love that their products are natural and that the organisation's philosophy is to work in harmony with the environment, and that many of their ingredients are grown on their own property.
It comes in a brown glass pot with a black plastic screw top, and is plain, simple, and easy to open and use. I like that, as nothing annoys me more than products with convoluted tops on them.
The product is a lovely soft pink cream, with a very very rosey scent - rose is not my favourite scent but this is quite sweet and pretty. When applied it is soft and slightly waxy, but absorbs quickly ( I have mature skin).
I've been using it as a day cream and I do like it, it softens and hydrates, as it says it will do, but I feel for my skin I need ( and like) something a little heavier and with an SPF. Overall though, it is a lovely product and I would probably buy it again to gift to someone younger than me who likes something a little lighter than I normally use.
I look forward to trying more of The Herb Farm products in the future and recommend to others to visit the website and see what's on offer. I'm amazed and surprised at what a wide range of products they offer, including skincare systems and gift packs, at an affordable price.
I received a 5ml sample sachet of The Herb Farm Nourishing Rose Face Cream as part of my Day 3 gift in the Beautiful Christmas NZ 2016 Advent Calendar, along with sample sachets of their Smoothing Exfoliating Powder, Softening Rose Cream Cleanser and Rejuvenating Facial Toning Mist.
The sample sachet contained enough for a few uses and the thick, pastel pink cream can be used as both a day cream and night cream. As the cream is very rich and hydrating, only a little is needed to do my face, neck and décolleté. The first time I used it, I accidentally applied too much and it took a few minutes for the cream to sink in.
The smell is a little unusual and is the same almost peppery rose scent as the Softening Rose Cream Cleanser. Once applied, the peppery smell seemed to dissipate and the rose scent lingered on my skin.
The 100% natural ingredients in this face cream help to improve the skin's elasticity and they work with your skin's natural oils to leave it nourished, softened and hydrated.
The Herb Farm Nourishing Rose Face Cream is suitable for use on sensitive skin but from what I can tell, this moisturiser doesn't contain any form of SPF, so I won't be purchasing a full sized tub. It really is a nice moisturiser and I would recommend it however, I prefer my daily moisturisers to contain some form of sun protection, especially living in NZ where the ozone layer is thin and the sun's UV rays are very harsh.
Tips: Start off with less than you think you need, you can always add more
The Rose Face Cream does what it says it should, that is to soften and protect normal and sensitive skin types. A little goes a long way, so although the 50mL bottle costs $29.90, it should last a reasonable amount of time. This product would be best for someone with dry or sensitive skin, but probably not suitable for acne-prone skin as I found it slightly greasy/heavy. The hydration from the cream lasted well and left my skin (tends to be dry) feeling hydrated all day. Would I buy this product? Probably not, simply because it is a bit too expensive for the quantity.
Tips: Works well under tinted moisturiser and foundation.
I receieved this face cream in the NZ Brands 2 BBBE. It's not something that I would have picked out from a store myself for the fact that it's lacking SPF and anti-aging properties. These things are fairly important to me when it comes to face creams, never the less, i'm pleasantly surprised with this one.
This cream jar comes packaged in a nice little box, the jar is a heavy glass with a plastic screw top, basic and practical.
This cream is pastel pink in color and has a smoothly spicy rose fragrance. It's quite a thick, heavy and slightly oily cream that spreads/blends beautifully, and is a little slow absorbing.
I don't use this facial cream on my face and i'm a little hesitant to because; It's not ideal for a day cream due to the density of it and it doesn't provide SPF. As a night facial cream, well I would use it if I didn't have much else, but bascially I have other facial products that boast anti-aging properties which I beleive are probably more beneficial for me.
I use this cream on my neck and chest, at night after a shower, and have noticed that it does something awesome..
You know when you sleep hard on your side for a long time, and so you wake up with long, deep vertical crease lines all over your chest, looking as if you've aged 40 years night..? And it can take ages for those creases to dissapear in the morning..
Well, this lovely, super hydration providing cream, completely prevents that non-beauty sleep dilhemma described above. I love this cream for that! Being a hard side-sleeper, the experience of these chesty crease line occurs all too often, and honestly I feel slightly disturbed by how aged and wrinkly it looks.
I'm loving this cream as a night time beauty helper, it's super hydrating and I find the scent to be comforting and calming at the time of day that I use it. I'm open to purchasing this product in the future, and definitely recommend as a great product for the décolletage area of the body.
I received this moistuiser as part of the NZ Brands Beauty Box 2. I admit, I had not heard of this brand before receiving one of their creams in the box.
It comes in a white and pink box, and says it is suitable for normal skin, including sensitive. The box does not specify if it is for day or night, so I decided to start using it as a night cream once my current night cream ran out. Some of its key ingredients are: rose, jojoba and sweet almond oil. The cream is in a little brown glass pot with a black lid. The cream itself is pastel pink with a mild, not unpleasant scent.
I have dry skin, and this seems to be quite a rich cream. It absorbs well into my dry skin, and I have not noticed any irritation so far. I find the cream to be nourishing, and I have woken up with hydrated skin.
Tips: This cream is very rich, so you only need to use a small amount.
I received this in the NZ Brands Best Ever Beauty Box 2. I do love natural skincare products. This face cream is a pastel pink and has that delicate rose absolute scent. Now what I do really like about this face cream is that it's really comforting and moisturizing for sensitive skin. I've had hayfever and the area around my nose was really red, irritated and peeling from constantly sneezing. This cream was really soothing and helped calm the skin down a bit as well as providing some moisture without it feeling really heavy and thick. This winter I have used this during the day under my spf moisturizer and at night as my night cream. I have been trying out some new chemical exfoliators and peels that caused some tingling and prickling so I like to apply this on over them as my last layer of skincare and this helps calm my skin down and fade the stinging sensations from using peels and acids. The ingredients of this moisturizer are water, sweet almond oil, glycerin, glyceryl stearate, sodium stearoyl lactylate, evening primrose oil, alkanna tinctoria root (Alkanet) in sweet almond oil, jojoba seed oil, cetearyl alcohol, organic shea butter, organic aloe leaf powder 200x, and rose absolute oil. The price for this natural face cream is pretty reasonable. Despite being slightly thicker it hasn't taken a really long time to absorb or made me break out. I think if I were using this during the summer I would find it a bit to thick and heavy for my taste, unless I was just applying it over any irritated skin from hayfever. But during winter it has hit the dry spots on my skin. In fact if don't apply any facial oil under this and just use toner it actually absorbs rather quickly. I think this is a good reasonably priced option for sensitive skin and I'm giving a pot to my sister since she has uber sensitive skin that reacts to everything.
Tips: This is a lovely cream to use after peels or nights you use chemical exfoliants or an skincare acid that would leave your skin sensitive. If you get hayfever and around your nose gets red, flakey and peels this actually really calming. I have even applied it around my eye area without any problems or irritation.
I got this in the myster gamble box a while ago.
It comes in a nice little brown glass jar with screw top lid and the product itself is a nice pink coloured cream. As soon as I opened the jar I could smell the rose fragrance quite strongly. The fragrance doesn't particularly linger but I did not enjoy apply the cream as it was overly scented of rose - this would be great if you're a fan of roses but I'm not really.
While I found it to be an OK moisturiser I did find it was very thick to apply and took a wee while to absorb, so not the best for my skin, which although mature, is still quite oily. I would recommend it more for someone with a quite dry skin as it's very hydrating. I also wouldn't recommend it for sensitive skin due to the highly fragranced nature of the product
Tips: better for dry skin imo.
I was reading about The Herb Farm few months ago, and was excited to try their natural products. I love rose smell and had to give this rose face cream a go. The price of the product is very reasonable and affordable.
The packaging of the product is beautiful with glass jar and a plastic cap in black. The instruction was clear on applying the cream after cleansing and toning. Nothing was mentioned about when to apply the cream on the packaging, going through their website and BR site, I decided to try this product during the day first.
After cleansing and toning in the morning I opened the Rose face cream jar. The smell of the cream was unavoidable, a sweet rose, not too strong. The smell just lingers around and I love that. I first took a small amount of cream in my fingers and felt the consistency was very thick, this was my very first heavy duty thick cream I said aloud. I applied the cream to my face evenly and still it felt very thick on my face. I applied my usual day makeup on top of that and set it with a setting powder as my makeup felt greasy. On touching my face it felt very thick and sticky. In less then two hours my face was shining. Not so impressed yet I didn’t want to give up on day 1, so I continued applying the cream for next 2 days till I had appearances of breakout on the face. The cream was too thick for my face as I already have a combination skin. I really didn’t want to completely give up on the product so I decided to apply it at night times. Though the cream felt very thick on my skin, it did make my skin soft a little apart from the breakouts. I have been applying the cream on alternate nights now to avoid breakouts.
I haven’t noticed any change in my skin so far. I will continue applying this cream and update the review should I experience any change. But for now I am not so impressed with this cream.
Tips: Too heavy cream, suitable for dry skin or who uses heavy duty cream.
