I've been struggling with acne for 15 years and I make it quite loud and clear how passionate I am about anything acne related, so seeing BR offering the acne trial I just had to jump. Natural products, trialling in the safety of my own environment, win win for me.
First impression: I loved the lipgloss look of the blemish stick and immediately it no longer felt like an acne battle I was getting into but nothing more than beauty treatment for skin. Its hard for me to say beauty and acne in the same sentence because my acne makes me feel ugly and hideous but opening this box just put a lovely smile in my heart. Its a strong pungent smell and I felt like I was in an aromatherapy shop.
First use: I applied to the most prominent pimples I had to make it easier for me to keep track on whether the pimples were subsiding or not. I love the cooling effect of the gel. I applied with my applicator stick directly to my pimples (obviously not any that were open or pussy) and did not rub it into my skin. I just simply allowed it to dry naturally. The pimples I applied it to, were quite tingly but no burning. I applied this over the cream at night.
Week 1: Sadly I could not focus on the original pimples I started out with because my face decided to plot against me and have an acne explosion. The blemish stick however provided such cooling and soothing benefits and lots of relief to the pimples. It was mostly acting like a cooling gel instead of a treatment in this week.
Week 2: Now the stick is starting to work as a spot treatment. My breakouts werent as bad and the stick was helping to draw out the redness from my skin. I used it at night directly after the face wash to ease the pimples.
Week 3: I had the 3 worse and most painful bolts on my nose and after 2 days in the morning... they were completely gone. And day 21, NO ACNE.
Week 4: I didnt need it as often because I was only getting a few breakout and they werent painful, but when I got this new acne after 2-3 days it was dried out.
Week 5: I only had to use it twice in the week and day 34 I had no acne. No pimples!
Week 6: Hardly used because my acne is now at bay and I dont feel the need to use this when I dont have painful bolts that I need gone very fast.
This is by no means a cure for acne, but a good topical treatment when you want to target a few pimples and have them dry out overnight or within a few days. I will keep using this as I love the benefits that it provides to really big, painful pimples.
This is an easy to use blemish stick, it comes in a lipgloss type tube with a sponge applicator. I dab the applicator on my finger first with the product, rather than using it straight on my face and putting back in the tube. It is tea tree scented, but not as strong as the medicated gel. It gives my acne a wee tingle, but has definitely reduced my overall acne. I use this one for day time, as it's not as potent or strong smelling as the gel, and also isn't as shiny or thick. It's a thinner formula, and easy to apply makeup over top. I've definitely seen results from using these products, and will continue to use them.
