I don't really see the point

About Me

Let me start off by sharing a bit about my skin. I have very oily and acne prone skin. I've had acne for more than 10 years and have been on every drug, cream and face wash you can imagine. Things tend to work for me for around a month and then the acne returns. I believe my acne is hormonal and before using this product it was moderate in severity.

Results

I've used this product a few times over the 3 weeks I've been trialling it. It hasn't made any difference to my acne. I use it during the day to apply to new spots that are forming. I don't like the fact that you're double dipping with the wand as you apply it to acne and then put it back in the gel. As a result of this I usually apply it beside a pimple and then use a finger to put it in place. I much preferred using the Medicated Gel in the same range.

Would I recommend it?

This product might be good for those that get the occasional deep acne spots, in which case you could apply this every few hours to try and bring the pimple to the surface. In other cases I would not recommend it for hygiene reasons.

Nuts & Bolts

Consistency- This is an invisible gel that is about as thick as lip gloss.

Application- It's easy to apply, just dot onto acne.

Coverage-I usually use this as a spot treatment during the day.

Longevity- Based on how much I've used so far I would estimate this product would last for around a year.

Packaging- The packaging is good but I think it's gross using the wand applicator on acne and then putting it back into the product.

Tips: Buy the medicated gel instead!!

I'm glad you also found this product totally ineffective, so did I! I didn't find any difference to my acne when I used this or not, the results were the same. It simply wasn't drying enough I don't think.

Sorry Colleen, just to clarify, I haven't said this product is useless I've just said it's not for me. Even isotane didn't work for my skin so please don't take this review to mean this product won't work for you or anyone else :) All the best!

I'm not sure how you draw a conclusion that its useless when you've only used it a few times, but given 6 weeks to do a thorough and proper trial of it. I love this product.

Just Dont.

Unfortunately this product in general did not deliver, to start with the packaging - For me personally I didnt like the idea that you had to stick the swab on your face dip it back in, then use it again on another spot, sure you could clean the swab every single time after each use but 1- I am a very busy girl and 2 - how can I be sure I have rid the swab of all bacteria? Because that is what a blemish really is, isnt it? A build up of bacteria on our face and with the blemish stick I felt I was just spreading that bacteria over my face. It started to show, some days I would use the blemish stick on a particularly rather big "spot" and found by the next morning this spot had built an army with three more spotty friends.

The smell was not desirable as well, each time I pulled the tube out it reminded me of the days back in primary school when I had to use tea-tree shampoo to rid my hair of nits!

All in all I would not recommend this product as I found it very unhygienic if anything. Overall it just didnt do what it said it would, by all means im not knocking Thursday Plantation as they have some other very good products, especially for my other fellow acne sufferers - They just unfortunately made a wrong turn when designing this product!

Thursday Plantation Tea Tree Blemish Stick

I have had acne for the last 20 or so years, and I'm now in my forties and still struggling with it. I was very excited to be chosen for the acne trial to see if this could be the product range for me. Sadly after using it for 2 weeks, my skin had broken out so badly, the worst it has been in years, that I stopped using the products. It irritated my skin so much that I am still breaking out. However I will review how I found the products.

This product had a wand , which you dip in and out of the little container, which really made me wonder about cross contamination! I didn't find it made any difference when applying it to my acne, the spots lasted just as long when I applied it and when I didn't. It just wasn't strong enough for my condition. It had a strong tea tree smell, like all the other products. I also found that after I had used it for a while, there was lots of product in the container, but I couldn't quite get to it with the wand, so a lot would be wasted. Overall I don't think this product worked for me, maybe it might good be for those that have the odd pimple rather than acne which seems harder to get rid of.

Tips: Use a cotton bud to get the product off the wand and apply it, rather than putting the wand straight onto your skin, to prevent bacteria from your skin transferring back to the container.

Thursday Plantation Tea Tree Blemish Stick

As a product the Thursday Plantation Tea Tree Blemish Stick has a great method of application (I love the blemish stick) and a great consistency, but I could not see any noticeable difference in the speed of healing of blemishes between using this product and using nothing.

Bacteria!

I gotta say I was really excited for this product. I usually use LUSH's Grease Lightning to dry out spots and pimples. So I was hoping this would maybe be better.

But to my disappointment, when I opened the box I saw that the dispenser was a wand! OH NO! Now you really do not want to use a wand on your pimples and then put the wand back in the tube with all the bacteria from your pimples.

What I ended up doing it dabbing some on the back of my hand and then using my clean fingers to put the product on my pimples/acne.

After I while it was getting harder and harder to get out the product from the tube with the wand. I still have plenty of product left in my tube but I just can not get any out with the wand at all.

The product itself didn't seem to help much at all. I gave it a fair go and used it for a few weeks on my pimples and acne together with the rest of the Thursday Plantation line. Because they all compliment each other I really thought this would work but no not for me. It was average for me and I think I will stick with LUSH's Grease Lightning.

Thursday Plantation Tea Tree Blemish Stick

First off, I couldn't make out any difference between this product and the Tea Tree Medicated Blemish Gel, I honestly think this is the same product just easier to pop in your handbag for on the go application. I applied to the really bad blemishes I had on my face, but I can't say that it did anything drastic. I do like that it's an invisible gel that absorbs/drys very quickly, and the container is great for applying it without touching your face with your fingers.

Tips: Unfortunately this range of products as a whole, didn't work for me. It seemed to enrage my skins blemishes further, and within one week of stopping use of the products my skin was a lot clearer than when I was using it - although still blemished :(

Blemish stick - not the best for bad acne

I liked the applicator on this product, it made it really easy to apply to specific blemishes. This went on quite cold, and had an almost sticky texture. It felt cooling and soothing on my skin when I put it on, but overall, did little to improve my blemishes. I really liked the smell, and would rate it more highly than the Thursday Plantation Gel as it did dry my blemishes out slightly more. Although I enjoyed using, and would like to continue using organic ingredients, I probably wouldn't buy this product again as I did not find it as effective as medicated products on my acne.

blemish stick

After using the whole stick I noticed no significant difference to my complexion, such a shame to because I was really rooting for this cool looking product. Definitely not worth the price either

I didn't see any noticeable change to my skin at all from using this. It wasn't a whole lot different to other products i've tried. It didn't cause me to break out or anything but it didn't make any changes to the blemishes on my skin unfortunately

Didn't notice a difference. After ten days of using it, the applicator made it hard to use. The applicator just spreads the acne
