Thursday Plantation Tea Tree Face Cream

Im on the fence about this product, while I did like the fact it hydrated my skin, often after I washed my skin it would end up very dry and left feeling tight. So giving it a little bit of moisture was nice, but really that is all I could say it did. It was just a moisturizer and a simple one at that, after about 10minutes my face was left feeling dry again and i'd have to apply my usual moisturizer to re-hydrate my skin. The product itself was pretty messy as well, you have to stick your fingers inside the tub in order to get the product which to me seems pretty unhygienic. My skin unfortunately hasnt improved, I still have bad acne over my chest and clusters on my face. So overall I would not recommend this product as you can get a far better moisturizer.

I would not use this product again. I have sensitive skin and prior to using this product I was worried about adverse reactions so I spot tested it with no issues. However, when I used it (following on from the Thursday Plantation Tea Tree Face Wash and Toner) I had a terrible reaction to it - my face was instantly stinging and went bright red.

I also found that the cream was quite thick and did not absorb into my skin very well either.

This face cream was ok - to be honest it had a weird texture that I didn't like. It felt like face cream but it dried like a gel (that sounds weird, but it's the only way I can describe it). The smell was nice and fresh, and it definitely did keep the moisture in my skin. However it also made my face really shiny, it didn't clog my pores but it did make me look absolutely terrible. It was at the point where my foundation was just sliding off my face!

Even when I only used a tiny bit, it seemed to have really oily, slippery effects. Having said that, I didn't notice it actually cause any blemishes, just oiliness. For someone with oily skin, and it's supposed to help with problem skin, it didn't work at all. I wouldn't recommend this one at all, unless the person had normal to dry skin to begin with (sorry!)

I have had acne for the last 20 or so years, and I'm now in my forties and still struggling with it. I was very excited to be chosen for the acne trial to see if this could be the product range for me. Sadly after using it for 2 weeks, my skin had broken out so badly, the worst it has been in years, that I stopped using the products.It irritated my skin so much that I am still breaking out. However I will review how I found the products.

This product comes in a pot, where you have to dip your fingers in to get the product, I don't particularly like this as I feel that you can easily introduce bacteria into the product before you have finished using it. It smells quite strong, and left my skin with quite a greasy finish, which made it hard to apply my makeup, as it tended to slide off. Using all three products together, irritated my skin terribly, but I saw on the ingredients list that these products do contain alcohol, lemon and other known acne irritants,so maybe that's why I reacted so badly. My skin felt really oily , as if it was overcompensating for the harshness of using the three products together.

Tea Tree Face Wash for Acne Tea Tree and Witch Hazel Toner Tea Tree Face Cream Tea Tree Blemish Gel Tea Tree Blemish Stick

My 16 year old son who has always struggled with acne began using this approx 6 weeks ago (5 March 14). He has written the review.

I really like the colour of the labeling/packaging – the green gives it a nice natural look. The size of the products are great – not too large, but they do last a long time.

Face Wash When the nozzle is pressed down the product foams up instantly in your hand. This makes the application very easy. I have just left it on my skin while in the shower, then rinsed off. The fragrance of the tea tree is very appealing. The Face Wash leaves your skin feeling really nice and soft (not dry at all). Having used this product every day sometimes twice a day, for the past 6 weeks, given the weight of the bottle, I imagine I haven’t even used half of the bottle – so it goes a VERY long way.

Tea Tree and Witch Hazel Toner – I have been applying this product with a make up pad which makes application nice and easy. It is very refreshing to use and gets rid of any excess grime missed with the face wash.

Tea Tree Face Cream I use this straight after the toner, it makes my skin feel light and soft if you know what I mean. The container has only just lasted me 6 weeks and that was being very careful. It does feel a little greasy on my skin.

I am a part time tennis coach so am out in the sun a lot – I have to use sunblock on a daily basis. This seems to really make my skin / acne more pronounced. I am careful to cleanse my skin as soon as possible to get rid of the sunblock.

After two weeks of using the product, I noticed a real change in my skin. It was less firey and the spots were not so noticeable. This did change though when using sunblock – this made it flare up again.

I used the Blemish Gel and Spot Stick on the spots that really stuck out. This took the redness away pretty much overnight.

During the trial my acne never really came to major white heads which I have had in the past. These products seemed to keep things under control. It definitely hasn’t got rid of the problem, but I guess just managing it a little better. I don’t look like the kid from the Pizza shop anymore.

I have really enjoyed trialling the products and hope my review is of help to other acne sufferers.

When I first saw this product, I was slightly worried as it has a very thick consistency and many moisturisers/face creams I have tried have clogged my pores and made me break out. I'm pleased to say this one doesn't! I tried wearing this during the day under makeup, and it does feel a bit heavy, so I'll usually put it on at night before bed. In the morning, my skin feels great, although as a standalone product, it doesn't really do much for acne. I think its a product you'll need to use along with the rest of the range. Acne products tend to contain ingredients that dry out your skin, but this face cream prevents this from happening. In saying that, I do find that I don't use this product every day as I have quite oily skin, so its not a necessity for me.

Age: 16, Skin Type: Moderate to Bad Acne.

This face cream really because a necessity whilst using the range as some of the products really dried out my skin, and as this product is quite thick it helped hydrate my skin but I couldn't use it under foundation because 1. It was quite strong smelling and would make me feel a bit nauseous throughout the day and 2. It was quite heavy and you really need to give it time to absorb fully before you can apply any makeup. It became more of a night cream. It did make my skin feel soft and hydrated, but it almost felt like it's only purpose is to combat the severe dryness caused by the medicated gel.

About Me

Let me start off by sharing a bit about my skin. I have very oily and acne prone skin. I've had acne for more than 10 years and have been on every drug, cream and face wash you can imagine. Things tend to work for me for around a month and then the acne returns. I believe my acne is hormonal and before using this product it was moderate in severity.

Results

Three weeks into the trial and I've seen no improvement in my acne using the Thursday Plantation acne range. This face cream is very heavy and leaves my skin feeling weighed down and like an oil slick! I've had to stop using it as my face would just be covered in oil as soon as I walked out the door.

Would I recommend it?

I would not recommend this face cream. It's far too thick to be able to apply morning and night and doesn't feel nice on the skin for this reason.

Nuts & Bolts

Consistency- This cleanser is very thick and I think off putting for those with acne prone skin. It's very hard to spread it all over the face without using a whole lot.

Coverage-I felt like I had to use a lot to get it spread over my entire face.

Longevity- Based on how much I've used so far I would estimate this product would last about 2 months.

Packaging- The packaging is good, it comes in a cute little pottle.

Like the title say I am really on the fence with this product. The reason being is that the consistency and feeling of the moisturizer is so sticky! It left my face and hands so sticky and yuck feeling. It did not matter how much or how little I used it still felt sticky! This was the only thing that put me off using it everyday. And it was a big issue for me.

Now to the good things. It made my skin so moisturized and healthy looking and just feeling young and plump. It didn't over moisturize or make my skin oily.

I could see how it helped the rest of the Thursday Plantation Tea Tree line. And aided to get rid of the acne. It just gives that extra Tea Tree kick.

It has a slight Tea Tree scent, which is refreshing and nice that its not over powering. Also somewhat soothing.

I've really liked using this moisturiser, it moisturises my skin without making it go oily afterwards, I use it as step 3 in the skincare range. My only thing is that it can be hard to rub into my face, it doesn't instantly sink in. I've been using this twice a day for over a month now and am about 2/3's of the way through. It has the tea tree oil scent, but isn't overpowering. I prefer packaging that comes in a pump form for hygiene. It's a great price for the amount you receive.
