This toner was pleasant to use after a long day of wearing makeup. It soothed my skin after cleansing, and restored some (but not all) moisture to skin, which resulted in some nights forgetting to moisturise because my skin felt so nice! However as I have sensitive eyes, the toner made my eyes sting a little when using it on a couple of occasions. So for those with sensitive skin, avoid the eye area! The bottle made the toner easy to extract, without excessive waste, and was small and handy to carry out when I was staying away from home.

Tips: This is nice and mild and seems to restore moisture well so use at night after cleansing and before moisturising (if needed for dry skin!)
As someone who had not previously used toner, I found that this product did offer some benefit to my skin. The toner seemed to even my skin, by drying out certain more oily patches of skin without drying out all of it. The consistency was good and I liked that it didn't feel oily on my skin. The only downsides were that the flip top bottle was prone to leak, and that it smelt more like a cleaning product than the smell of the wash, which I really liked. Overall, it was a good toner which helped to even out skin tone.
At first I really liked the toner, because it made my skin feel really clean and fresh. But after a couple of weeks I noticed that my skin was getting SUPER oily by the end of work, or by the time I got into bed after doing my nighttime face routine - after eliminating a couple of other products, I eliminated the Tea Tree Toner, and the oiliness has subsided a lot. Which is a shame, because I really liked the smell and feeling of this product. It might just be me? Because it did work really well during the first 1-2 weeks.
The Tea Tree and Witch Hazel Toner is very much your standard toner - I wouldn't say its the stand-out product in the Thursday Plantation range, but does the trick! I use this after cleansing with the Tea Tree Face Wash, and it gets off any extra dirt or makeup residue from my skin. Some toners tend to sting my skin, but this one doesn't. It's also doesn't dry my skin out like many acne products do, which is a plus! Packaging-wise, the opening/closing lid makes it difficult to control the pour onto a cotton pad, so I think it would be better with a screw-on lid or in a spray bottle. But for only $12.90 a bottle, it's definitely worth trying - you can't really go wrong.
Tips: Use this alongside other products from the Tea Tree Acne range for the best results. The combination of these products altogether is dynamite against acne!
Now I have been affected by acne for awhile now, no matter what I try it just doesnt seem to work! Here is where this product comes in, now I must say out of all the Thursday Plantation products this one was definitely one of my favorites, I would use this every night after I washed my face for that extra oomph in ridding bacteria! At first I didnt see any change but after awhile I noticed instead of having a lot of clusters of blemishes I'd just have the break out here and there. When usually toners make my skin feel dry and tight this product left my face feeling refreshed and clean!
In saying that my skin on my face may have may have cleared up a little bit, but it is still pretty bad - even after using this product religiously. So I cant really be a good judge on if it worked or not!
I also tried this product on my chest as that is a huge problem area for me and unfortunately it pretty much did nothing to help my skin!
Overall I would recommend if your skin isn't to problematic and you are looking for a toner to refresh your skin(thats why I like this product). But other then that, if you are a big acne sufferer then maybe try something else first.
I've been struggling with acne for 15 years and I make it quite loud and clear how passionate I am about anything acne related, so seeing BR offering the acne trial I just had to jump. Natural products, trialling in the safety of my own environment, win win for me.
First impression: Good size 100ml bottle that is going to last a good while because I havent reached half in 6 weeks. Its a strong pungent smell and reminds me of all the reasons that I dont like using tee tree oil.
First use: I soaked a cotton ball and applied with wiping motions avoiding the eye area. The toner immediately set the current pimples on fire with a burning sensation that left me worried. I left my skin alone for about 5-10 minutes before applying any other products. The most prominent pimples hurt the most and I wasnt pleased at all.
Week 1: Lots of angry new pimples so I held off using the toner everyday in this week as my skin had broken out really badly and it seemed the toner was making it worse by burning the pimples. The areas of my face that didnt have pimples the pores did seem somewhat smaller.
Week 2: My acne has eased a little and now I could benefit from the toner. It was removing all the impurities from my skin as the cotton ball was mucky brown and every swipe so now I getting a real good deep clean. I used in the morning and night.
Week 3: Day 21 and NO ACNE! No pimples! My pores are looking smaller and skin feels tight after each use. Used morning and night but now my skin is starting to abnormally oily.
Week 4: A few breakouts around my nose and forehead. I only use for 5 nights of the week as my skin was really oily and I wanted to the amount of products that I was using everyday. My pores are definitely looking smaller with each passing week.
Week 5: Only used at night and my skin was no longer oily. No skin is looking healthly and day 34, no pimples on my face.
Week 6: I have a few breakouts but nothing severe and I'm making sure to use the toner at night because my skin seem to benefit much more at night because I wake up with baby soft skin and hardly any redness in my pimples.
I'm definitely going to keep using this toner but will limit how much I use of it and how often I use it, because my skin becomes oily with over use. It might seem like a negative but this toner hasnt left my skin feeling striped of moisture and nourishment as most toners make my skin. So even if I can only use it at night, I'll do just that!
Tips: For oily skin, concentrate on your cheeks and chin and less on your T-zone, because the toner tightens your skin like a zip and it will open your oil fllod gates.
Instead of swiping, rather dab down hard, it will soak up more oil and wont be as harsh on your skin if you have sensitive skin.
Common sense: Dont use over puss pimples as the toner will rupture them and they may be worse off. Rather use gentle motions around puss pimples if you can help it.
I really hated the packaging for this! I hate toner bottles with this sort of lid, it's one of those ones where you push one side down and then lots dribbles out when you're trying to put some on a cotton ball. Apart from the packaging though, I really liked the feel this toner had on my skin, it didn't dry it out like a lot of other products do. Although I don't like the smell of tea tree oil, this product does leave a heavy smell on the skin, but you soon get used to the smell.
Tips: Unfortunately this range of products as a whole, didn't work for me. It seemed to enrage my skins blemishes further, and within one week of stopping use of the products my skin was a lot clearer than when I was using it - although still blemished :(
this toner is an all natural product , it wont be that effective when you want to reduced your acne and pores overnight ,it sting face a little bit due to the tea tree oil ,it makes face red a little bit and very refreshing ,i think it still has effect in reducing acnes and spots but im just not using it anymore .
I have combination skin so this toner did dry out my skin and sting a little bit and make my skin irritated and scaly. I think it would be good for young skin or skin that gets oily. I liked that it was cheap and you could get it from your local supermarket, and I also like the tea tree smell that Thursday Plantation Tea Tree product range has. Tea Tree oil and Witch hazel is excellent for breakouts so I think it would be a awesome toner for oily skin but as my skin is combination and I do get quite dry on my cheeks, it just dried those areas out even more.
Tips: Toner best suited for oily skin. Does dry out already dry areas of your face.
This is the first toner I have used. I'm not even sure what they do! But i decided - out of the blue to start using one and as I was using the deodorant of this brand i decided to use this. Its refreshing and I assume it does its job (again, I'm not a hundred percent sure what they do, but also, my skin is fairly balanced) But it felt refreshed after using
Tips: Use after a good cleanse.
