The packing is lovely with the image on the inside of the box a unique point of difference. The tube itself is feels nice to hold and the lid is a nice weight that doesn't feel like it would be easily dropped. The sent is light and refreshing without smelling fake. The cream is a nice consistency that doesn't drip off your fingers and easily rubs into your skin. I like the way my skin feels after using it as its not at all greasy or over moisturized. The sent seems to last for a little while on my skin which I like.

Reviews
I was super grateful to be selected to trial this product alongside some other great Trilogy products. This is a lightweight moisturiser. It doesn't feel too heavy or sticky on the skin so I found it ideal to wear as a day cream over top of a face sunscreen. My skin is already oily so I liked that this didn't add any extra shine. I wouldn't go as far as saying it "mattified" my skin as it claims to do and my skin was just as oily throughout the day as it usually is. The scent is fresh and pleasant, kind of sweet and kind of herbal. I found it really gentle, it didn't irritate my skin at all. It comes in a fairly standard plastic tube. I'd love to see Trilogy move to glass jars as many of their other products are. This product would be suited to those with oily or sensitive skin.
As with all the Trilogy products, the Mattifying Moisturising Lotion smells so good out of the bottle. It's incredibly light, something I don't normally go for. Usually I prefer thicker creams but as this follows an oil in the skincare routine, it was probably the right thing. Because of it's thin consistency you don't need to use a lot.
The cream soaked in quickly and didn't leave any residue. It didn't stop my skin from getting oily later in the day but my skin definitely didn't look shiny or greasy, even after using an oil. However, I'm not sure there was enough to differentiate it from my usual brands.
I'm not sure it does enough to convince me it's worth spending so much more on this over a more medium priced moisturiser, but it feels and smells lovely, and I do like the idea of supporting local brands.
Tips: Don't put too much on
This may just be the best moisturiser I’ve ever found for my oily skin! It comes in a standard white/cream typical Trilogy look tube, nothing new or exciting there. The lotion is a white medium thickness, quite light not what I’d describe as tick or heavy. But the real magic is how it feels and looks when applied. It feels nourishing and refreshing when applied and doesn’t leave my face shiny or like it has some weird additive added to it which is supposed to ‘mattify’ but just usually seems to make my skin feel like it has some weird coating and doesn’t mattify at all. BUT this really doesn’t make my skin shiny and seems to control pretty much all day. I have high hopes this works even in the middle of summer! Will definitely purchase this when my trial team tube is gone!
This moisturiser is creamy and smooth, it spreads easily and a little goes a long way. It is indeed mattifying, but it does that thing where if you sweat even a tiny bit it will trap it in and make you feel so much sweatier than you actually are. Also even after mattifying there was a slight dampness to my face which could have been residue of the moisturiser or oil I’m not sure. So it wasn’t 100% mattifying, but it also wasn’t drying in any way.
It has a mild scent of melon and lemon myrtle that I don’t love, but it’s not too over powering. It comes in quite a small tube but as you only need a small amount I think it would last a reasonable amount of time. I found it was moisturising but it wasn’t amazing. As for the price, I would never buy this. It is just way too expensive for something that I didn’t love. I also don’t like the off white/cream colour of the tube. The lid is a nice twist off metal with a bit of weight to it which I like.
Overall I’d say if this product is on sale, go for it!
Tips: Squeeze gently! A little goes a long way
I have been using this moisturise lotion with the oil as a combo and I love it! It comes in a 50ml squeeze tube with screw cap lid, o would of loved it more if it had a push down cap as intended to squeeze out too much product.
The lotion is light and non greasy, it has a subtle nice scent you can definitely smell the lemon myrtle but it’s not overpowering. I believe my skin has been less oily which is good!
Tips: Try not to squeeze too much product out of the tube, use with the hemphip balancing oil for best effects
This is perfect if you want something light for under makeup and keeps your skin moisturised. There is a light fragrance to this but I really liked the smell, very fresh and clean. This didn’t break me out but it also helps to know that the witch hazel would help with any breakouts that I had. Overall it seems like a great basic to have a hand for your skin.
I was lucky enough to be accepted on this trial. I often get hormonal break out on my chin before shark week. This moisturiser felt nourishing as well as refreshing, and did not irritate my skin at all. As well as that, it was a great base under my make up. I love the scent of it, not over powering like a lot of products.
Tips: For my combination skintype, I was careful not to apply more than necessary and definitely in conjunction with the gorgeous serum!
Would highly recommend this product. It soaks in really well, leaves skin feeling nice and smooth with no residue. I agree with the fact its mattifying and found it better than many moisturizers ive tried on my skin. Love the fact it comes in a tube and the cream itself is nice not to thick and not too runny.
This is another favourite for me! This moisturiser is nice and light which I think is perfect for the summer months when my skin can easily feel greasy and congested. The risk with a lighter moisturiser is that it doesn't moisturise enough and your skin gets dry but I haven't found that at all with this one. It's the perfect balance of lightness to hydration for my skin. I have been using it morning and night. The only downside to this one, and why it doesn't get 5 stars from me, is because it doesn't have any SPF in it. A daytime option with some SPF would be awesome, especially given our harsh NZ sun. The moisturiser comes in a white tub with a twist top lid. I used a small amount morning and night after cleansing. The smell is slightly stronger than the cleanser. I probably prefer the cleanser smell over this one but this is still nice. It definitely mattifies, no shine in sight after using this! Again, perfect for the summer months I think. The tube is quite small so I think it could get expensive as I'd need to buy this quite frequently but it is a great product and my skin loves it. Recommend! Just remember to apply sunblock as well!
