Lovely gentle product, helps calm but cleanses well at the same time. I used this when I my skin was super inflamed and full off acne. Helped soothe and non irritating which was a relief

Tips: Use the softest flannel you can find to use in conjunction with this great cleanser
This cleanser is exactly what it says it is, Very gentle. It's great for removing light makeup and doesn't strip your skin dry. 3 stars are only because I prefer foaming face cleanser/washes which is a personal preference. This cleanser is perfect for dry winter months and leaves the skin feeling quite soft. I wouldn't recommend this to remove heavy make up as the name suggests it is quite gentle and wouldn't be able to remove everything properly, like mascara and heavy eyeliner. You would need to use your makeup remover for that. However this is perfect for people with dry skin looking for a good cleanser without stripping off the oil. It has a very light pleasant smell which does not linger. A very small amount is required which will make the 200 ml pack size last quite a while. Price wise I do feel it is quite pricey and personally I wouldn't be buying this again only because I prefer foamy cleansers.
Tips: Perfect for someone with dry skin especially during winter months.
I have been using the same cleanser for years and years. It's great for sensitive skin but can be drying. Whenever I try to change I have poor results but this one ticks all the boxes and ive really liked using it. It comes in a fairly decent sized pretty amber bottle with a handy pump. This cleanser feels so silky when applying it, it's almost like using a moisturiser. It leaves your skin feeling so hydrated and soft. I didn't try it on makeup so can't comment there but for a daily cleanser I throughly enjoyed using it and even though it's expensive for a cleanser I'd consider repurchasing again
Tips: You don't need a whole pump for a general cleanse
I don't have sensitive skin as such but have recently worked out that my skin hates anything containing sodium lauryl sulfate (it leaves me with that horrible, tight, almost burning feeling). Unfortunately a lot of cleansers, both cheap and expensive contain this, especially foaming ones. This does not contain SLS, just lots of lovely natural ingredients. It does still have a faint whiff of the Trilogy signature scent that in all their products have but not as strong as usual.
I use this as a second cleanse after I have removed my makeup with a balm cleanser. I just smooth on the opaque cream, massage it in, then rinse off. It leaves my skin feeling clean and smooth, no tightness at all. I don't know how well it would remove make up in its own though as I've never used it as a first cleanse. I would definitely use this again as a second or morning cleanse as it effectively cleanses my skin without feeling like it has been stripped from double cleansing.
I've loved Trilogy products since they were first launched here. Strayed off and tried other brands, but it's Trilogy to the rescue whenever I get too adventurous. This cream cleanser is deliciously luxurious, gentle and effective. And it's fragrance free! Cleaning with ease and without irritation. It leaves my sensitive skin feeling clean, soft and soothed.
Tips: If you wear more than a hint of makeup, use a makeup remover before this soothing cleansing cream.
I'm super picky when it comes to face cleansers, and I tend to stay well away from cream cleansers. For the simple reason that they don't feel powerful enough. On days when I'm wearing very light makeup I can't be bothered with makeup remover wipes so I rely on my cleanser(s) to do the job for me. Cream cleansers often don't leave that ultra clean feeling afterwards. So bear in mind that I'm already somewhat biased against cream cleansers.
This comes in a very luxurious feeling pump bottle. One pump is the perfect amount, although if your face isn't too dirty half a pump would be sufficient. It has the texture of a body lotion and feels very creamy. In fact, it feels like I'm washing my face with a lotion instead of something soapy. Surprisingly, it does clean off bb cream/primer/sunscreen etc. But it isn't enough to get rid of any eye makeup or heavy brow products, but that's the trade off I guess for gentleness. And boy is this gentle. It's not harsh at all and leaves my face feeling moisturised even before I start on the skincare.
There's no smell, like the other products in this range. And my sensitive skin welcomes it with open arms. Although I personally still prefer my foaming cleansers, I have to agree that if you're ever wanting just a gentle cleanse or if you have skin that's extremely sensitive to harsh scrubs/water based cleansers, this would be perfect.
Tips: Patch test beforehand! Cleansers are one of the main things that can break me out especially since they tend to be harsher than moisturisers.
I don't usually get excited over cleansers if I'm honest and find it a struggle to review them but I will do my best because this is actually a really nice cleanser.
This cleanser comes in the same frosted brown glass as the other products in this range come in. This has a pump mechanism which I like. The one thing I like about this pump is that you can pump a little or a lot depending on how much you like to use. I only press the pump down a little bit to get a pea size amount as that is all I need.
I was quite surprised at how creamy it was, it was nice and pleasant to use, didn't really have a fragrance that I could smell. This cleanser has Macqui Berry, SyriCalm and Camelia in it. I have no idea what the first two ingredients are but whatever they are, they really make a lovely product.
I didn't get the dry feeling after using this, usually my skin feels squeaky and dry but I didn't get that with this cleanser which is a bonus. I had no reaction to it, no irritation or stinging, and it is nice to use.
Results - Its hard to tell whether the cleanser made any improvements to my skin as I was using all the other products in the range together, however I believe it is an important step in this system as it cleans your skin nicely and prepares your skin for the next step in the regime. I would have liked to have had this cleanser as more of a scrub type texture than just a smooth cleanser though as I find those tend to make you feel like you are actually doing something to your skin.
Would I purchase? This is a bit of a tough one as I don't think it cries out miracle product but it does exactly what it says its supposed to do. I probably wouldn't purchase because of the price tag. At $46.99, even though it is a big bottle and would last you for ages, I know I could find another product that is similar and does the same thing for half the price. I feel horrible saying it but this is an honest review, so just putting it out there.
I’ve used a few trilogy products as they do look after sensitive skin quite well. I used a sample of this from farmers and brought it eventually as it didn’t aggregate my skin. Which quite a few do.
I had just had a bad reaction to a “gentle” skincare range that I brought from a friend selling in a pyramid scheme you know how you try to throw them a bone every now and then.. but when I have a reaction, I have to completely stop what I’m using on my skin and start from scratch again building up what I use one step at a time - generally after my chemical burns are gone and a new skin layer appears.
This was that starting block.
It was very gentle and mild. Exactly what sensitive skin requires. It’s definitely at the top price point I can afford but given I was desperate I grabbed this to get me through as you do.
One pump went a long way for me initially. It’s quite a thick cream cleanser and it did vary how much I would use depending on what the day had thrown at me. I wanted it to last given I don’t always spend this on a cleanser. Initially it was great value for money. But when I was starting to use makeup again I had to use more and double cleanse so I was using it up fast.
Great for my inflamed skin when getting back into a skincare routine as it was gentle and non drying. When wearing makeup again was still gentle but maybe a little too mild for total makeup removal. Luckily it was gentle enough for a double cleanse as it didn’t strip my skin and make it dry out. But also it didn’t quite remove all my makeup.
I was left with a layer on my skin so I felt like it just didn’t quite work as well as it did on my bare skin even with the double cleanse.
So bonus points for gentleness. But deducted points for effectiveness when combined with makeup.
I'm somewhere in the middle with this cleansing cream - it is really gentle, which is fine first thing in the morning, but I don't find it sufficient for end-of-the-day skin. It's just not cleansing enough for adequately removing make up (or even my BB cream). I know this, having used a cleansing towelette a few times after using the cleansing cream - even after massaging it in for a couple of minutes and rinsing, when I then used a cleansing wipe over my face, there were still traces of BB cream and other grime on the wipe. Having said that, for morning skin that has only had serum, oil, or moisturiser on it the night before, this is a nice gentle cleanser that won't be too harsh or irritate skin. It just freshens the face up for applying the day's skincare and make up. So if you're a minimal makeup wearer, or just want a cleansing cream for mornings specifically (or have such sensitive skin that it can't cope with other cleansers, then this would suit you.
Not normally one to spend $46.99 on a cleanser, but this product has me rethinking that. Good size at 200ml, lovely packaging and great being a pump bottle. No skin reactions noted. Pumps out the right amount in a single pump. Note this is a cream so it does not go foamy. Took a couple of uses to get over this, but after that it became the norm. Cleansed and moisturized beautifully.
Tips: If wearing eye makeup you will need to wash twice to remove it all. One pump is enough per wash.
