This is indeed a deeply moisturising cream, and does suit sensitive skin - I have had no irritation whatsoever. However, I find it really difficult to apply. Basically, it's just way too thick, and takes an age to absorb into the skin, even when straight out of a steaming shower, post cleansing and serum - it just sits on the surface of the skin for ages afterwards, despite all my massaging. To be fair, it has been good to my skin in all this chilly winter weather, and post-flu, and it helped clear up the chapping around my lips and nose. Hence I haven't given is super low stars. But I would not go out and buy this for myself, due to the thickness and difficulty in trying to get it to absorb. But if you have sensitive skin, and want a deeply moisturising product, and don't mind how long it takes to absorb, then this will suit you well.

Quite a thick cream in a 60ml glass pottle, that comes with a spatula I gave up using early on, in favour of a very clean finger.
I love this cream – one of my top 3 in the range. It is just the right consistency for my skin & made it feel cool, hydrated and fresh a provided a great base for my foundation.
As with the other products, contains maqui berry, SyriCalm, calendula – lovely natural soothing products to calm sensitive skin. The blurb says it reduces fine lines and wrinkles, and I can see a definite improvement in skin quality and hydration– though hard to pin down which of the products to attribute this to. Perhaps it’s the combo of all?
I used twice a day in conjunction with the other products. The most expensive product in the range, at $53 but I will definitely be purchasing again. I'm estimating it will last 4-5 months at my current usage rate.
Tips: Invest in this one!
I was so surprised by this moisturiser...very pleasantly surprised! Most sensitive ranged products that I have used, have been light...too light. This has always lead to my dry skin not being protected enough and therefore, becoming irritated. Oh Trilogy, you have answered my prayers! This moisturiser is a beautiful addition to the rest of the range. I apply this beautiful, nourishing and protective cream in the AM and PM, after cleansing and applying either the serum or oil - depending on requirements. It blends in beautifully and leaves my skin feeling hydrated. Since using the Very Gentle range, I have noticed my skin texture feels beeter and my skin looks better...and a huge bonus, my foundation sits better on my skin! I adore this range!
Tips: Definitely use this product along with the other products in the range. It is in a price range that is higher than I normally purchase but since it is a quality product then I will happily repurchase.
Firstly let me say that this cream is beautiful. It is effective and gentle and perfect for sensitive skin. My less than perfect review comes solely for it not being quite right for me in terms of what I need for a cream.
Yes, it works. And yes, it did wonders for my sensitive skin. It didn't irritate it, it helped heal it, and it felt lovely on my skin.
As a Mum of two toddlers though, I really need something that is multipurpose - a BB cream or at least a moisturising cream with SPF in it. I need multi-tasking every day creams so I can get out the door and on with dealing with the joys of parenthood. It might sound nit-picky, but as a parent, you'll understand.
That said, I can see that when my children are older, this cream could make it's way back in to my life.
It is light on the face, doesn't clog your pores and really helps soothe and heal sensitive spots like eczema etc. I didn't notice it helping with fine lines and wrinkles, but my husband said my face looked smoother so maybe it did?!
I'm not a fan of the glass jar or the spatula to apply it, but I understand why Trilogy has gone that way (cutting plastic/helping stop contamination). But it felt like the glass jar was exposing the cream to light and germs every time I opened it anyway.
Overall, a wonderful sensitive moisturising cream, but sadly, not quite what I need at this point.
Tips: A little really does go a very long way! I've barely made a dent in it almost a month later.
This came in a very lovely frosted brown glass pot with a spatula for hygienic removal. White in colour and with definite cream like consistency, this unfragranced cream contains macqui berry, Syricalm and calendula. My skin feels moisturised and appears slighty 'plumper' looking, although I feel that it made no anti ageing difference to my skin, my skin was left soft and smooth and it just FELT nice. Anyone with sensitive skin will know how important this is. I use this in the morning after applying the serum.
Tips: Rub any leftover product into the back of your hands for a little boost.
I feel so fancy with this gorgeous packaging hehe As with all of the trilogy products a little goes a long way and the moisturising cream was just the same, a small amount is all that is needed to cover my whole face and neck. It it such a rich super nourishing cream that just sank into my skin without leaving a greasy residue. Because my skin can be so incredibly fickle at times and being "older" I have different needs in a skin care range than I did in my 20s and I am so happy to have found a product that actually works for me. This made my skin feel quite possibly the best it has felt in ages, even my husband noticed the change (and he never notices anything haha) My skin is glowy and dewy looking, and sooooo smooth. I struggle to find a good nourishing moisturiser for my skin that isn't highly perfumed, and I notice with the hundreds I have tried, usually a sensitive moisturiser is a little on the lighter side and doesn't give me the hydration I need, or the really rich moisturisers are so highly perfumed my skin breaks out and and has a complete spaz . But this gives me awesome hydration without the perfume, I don't think there is any going back after using this!!!
This is everything that you would hope a rich daily moisturiser to be - for winter. In summer on the other hand, I see this being too heavy and rich to use on my skin. We have the product in yet another glass jar, the texture is thick and creamy, this is not a light lotion, it is heavy, so you do need to use sparingly if you have combo skin. Even though this is a super rich cream, it is still easily absorbed. There is no scent, and there was no irritation when I used this, but I found this made my t-zone shine. And not in a good way. I am a little, Ok alot disappointed this has no SPF, even sensitive skin needs a shield against the New Zealand sun, being made in NZ I would have thought SPF in facial products, most certainly a daily facial moisturiser is a total Must and let's not confuse sensitive with super dry, these are two different issues. To me this gets 3/5 kisses, as it seems the issue of sensitive skin can be lost and confused with dry skin, after all not all of us sensitive Sally's have extremely dry skin.
Tips: This can double as a body moisturiser as well, and you will need to invest in a separate SPF product as this has none.
I have trialed Trilogys 'Very Gentle Moisturising Cream' for over three weeks. I have sensitive, dry skin that has redness on my cheeks and nose and prone to acne breakouts.
This gorgeous glass tub of goodness comes packaged in a light pink/apricot cardboard box, which has 'Sensitive' written on the front, as well as a small blurb of the active ingredients 'maqui berry, SyriCalm and caledula. I love how these are all certified natural comsmetics by BioGro it is so important that they back themselves up with that big statement. On the back of the box it explains in detail 'How to use'
The product comes in a 60ml amber glass tub, with a black screw top, it also comes with a handy little spatula that you can use to scoop out the product and apply it to your face, which is great to prevent cross contamination in products or germs to be spread.
The texture of the moisturiser is a light creamy texture although still extremely nourishing and soothing it gives my skin all day hydration which is really great for my dry skin. It easily rubs into my skin and is light enough to wear underneath my make-up, I have found with all the products in this range a little goes a long way.
The RRP is $52.99 which is fair enough for the luxury packaging and I would get over 4-6 months use of this product personally, but as I said in my review of the entire range. I know Trilogy and Farmers have amazing specials and discounts and that is an easy way to stock up on this brand.
Perfect if you suffer from dry and sensitive skin. This sensitive skin moisturiser comes in a frosted glass tube with a scoop which makes it easy to get the products out without it getting under your nails or contaminating the whole tub. I actually really liked this cream and found that it really did help clam my skin and improved the feel and texture of my skin as well. it left it nicely hydrated without the greasy feel and one application was enough to last the whole day. I did not have to reapply the cream during he day even though the weather is quite dry and I do work in a AC/heated office. It helped with the redness dry patchy skin which I experience during winter season. I could apply my makeup right after moisturising as this absorbed into the skin quite easily. The only draw back is that it does not have any SPF at all so you will need to apply sunscreen or any other sun protecting lotion on top. Overall a good moisturizing cream and I would buy it again.
Tips: Ideal for sensitive and stressed skin.
This cream is so nice, it's really light, but super moisturising at the same time. I loved using it, although personally won't get it again as I am not a fan of the jar. I worry sometimes about germs. Perhaps I could use it with a little spoon?! Anyway, I have sensitive skin to heavy moisturisers and this one did not make me react at all! Plus the scent is so lovely!
Tips: Use a little spoon or spatula to prevent germs growing in the pot. Also, a little goes a long way!
