$50 something dollars for a 60ml moisturiser isn't really my idea of cheap, and me being me thought 'this better be good!' when I opened the packaging. Firstly, it's awesome with sensitive skin. I must really commend Trilogy on their efforts with this range, Didn't get any negative reactions from my face. Yay!
It comes with a spatula, but I'm to lazy to have to wash the spatula after every use so I just use my fingers straight in the pot. I wash my hands as I wash my face anyway so it shouldn't be a big problem (right?). It's very thick in the jar, but surprisingly spreadable on your face. Even the size of a pea is slightly more than I need. It leaves my skin feeling smooth and satiny, with a slight glowing finish.
When using it I didn't notice a smell, which is another good thing since a lot of irritants in skincare are actually from the fragrance. It's well moistruring, and I can use it day and night. Although one thing to note is this has no spf, so do remember to add sunscreen over it in the day. I'm not sure if I'd continue with this in the summer where my skin starts leaning towards the oilier side. But this is definitely great for winter and autumn.
Overall a good daily moisturiser that feels relaxing to apply and does its job well. I like it a lot, but not quite enough to justify spending $50 when my $20 goodness every morning moisturiser does just as well. The luxury packaging is nice, but is it worth an extra thirty?
This super hydrating and creamy formula is perfect for trapping in moisture for very dry and sensitive skin. Only a small bit is needed (tip of your finger) to cover your entire face and décolletage. The combination of maqui berry, SyriCalm and calendula helps to calm any irritation or redness while protecting and nourishing your skin. The formula soaks in well to the skin without blocking any pores to leave skin feeling very smooth. It's important for me to have a moisturiser that is not too thick that it overloads my pores but is also very hydrating, I believe this product is pretty good at both of these when used correctly. There is a slight scent to the product that I can’t quite put my finger on to what it is but it is most definitely not unpleasant. It took a little bit of trial and error for me to use this cream during the day. I found that if I used the same amount of the cream in the morning as I did at night it was too greasy under my makeup. However after a few goes and using the cream very sparingly, building it up, I was able to find a good balance of having hydrated skin as well as working well under make up. It’s not as much product as you think! Whereas at night I was able to be more generous with the product to almost create a mask to sleep with so I woke up with lovely hydrated skin.
Tips: For day time use, use very sparingly for a lighter coverage and allow to properly soak in before adding makeup as the combination can look a little greasy. For night time use, be more generous for a hydrating mask as you sleep. Your skin will thank you in the morning! If you have any extra dry patches on your face, massage an extra amount of the moisturising cream into them throughout the day to stop any dryness occurring. I found it almost helped prevent those dry patches from coming back.
