I got this on special and I'm glad I did. The packaging is the best thing about this particular product looks and feels high end while being reasonably priced, that's not to say it's not a good moisturiser, it is but you still need a serum and eye cream to get full effect. The consistency, smell and colour is completely different from their other moisturisers. I would buy again if on special

Reviews
The product comes in a glass jar with a spin-off lid. I love the packaging.
The mask contains NZ Bee Venom with Active Manuka Honey. Manuka Honey is known for its antibacterial and healing properties. Bee Venom rejuvenates skin. I was really excited to try this mask.
I have been using this Bee Venom mask for 2 weeks now. It is a creamy white crème, easy to apply, the consistency is just right, not too thick or too runny. It is hard to describe the feeling having it on, sort of cold tingling feeling which I expected. I leave it on for 20 minutes then wash it off. I honestly could not stand it more than 20 minutes.
I haven’t experienced any allergies or irritation. However, I did not like how it makes my face look super red every time I wash this mask off. Well, obviously this product contains ‘real” bee venom in it. Plus, I don’t really like the smell of it.
It seems to help my dry skin, making it soft and hydrated. Apart from that, I can’t comment on ‘”helping to firm and plump facial tissue for a smooth youthful looking skin” the product claims to do as I don't see any visible signs of improvement. I don't think I'll be purchasing it again.
The small glass jar is one of the fancier face mask products I own. The lid is lightweight and easily open/closes. While the product is small looking, a little goes a long way.
The product is white with a thick creamy consistency, and is easy to apply and smooth out. The instructions are to apply an even layer, leave for 20 minutes and wash off. I used this product at the beginning of my shower/bath (night time) on a freshly cleaned face.
While the mask is applied, there is an active cooling sensation which I found pleasant. I wouldn't say stinging as it didn't hurt, just a sensation that something is working (oh-my-god-bee-venom-is-on-my-face!). The mask doesn't dry though, and I used a face cleanser to remove it as it doesn't wash off with just water.
After a week of using the product, I found my skin was soft to touch and smooth.
I wanted to like this product as it's one of the few face masks I've found that you can use daily, however, on my combination/dehydrated skin, I had white heads pop up each morning because it was too thick and heavy for my skin.
At first sniff, I liked the soft powdery floral scent, however, after a week using it (and leaving it on for 20 minutes each time) I find the scent too purfumey and unpleasant. Reminds me of something my grandmother would use.
While the glass jar is nice, I find it too dangerous to use while in the bath/shower which is where I prefer to apply a face mask.
Before using the product, I did a test patch (as per the instructions) on my inner arm with no reaction. Product is not recommended for those who are allergic to bee stings.
Tips: Apply a small dot to each part of your face (forehead, cheeks, nose, chin) and spread out for an even layer.
I tried and loved the Manuka doctor bee venom mask but always forgot to repurchase it and the only way I could get my hands on it was online so I kind of forgot about it. I had heard of this brand and had heard people raving about it so when I found it in a gift shop I was pretty excited.
This comes in a solid frosted glass jar, with a silver screw top lid with the words “Bee venom New Zealand” and a picture of a bee embossed on top. Top marks for packaging Wild fern, it’s cute and classy but practical.
I use a teaspoon and scoop out a small amount and apply a thin layer to my face I am instantly hit by a strong rose fragrance it’s nice but quite overpowering, I am all for stronger scents but this is quite “sneezy” strong. It has a nice thick consistency that is easy to spread. This doesn’t have any tingly sensation when you apply it or while you wait for it to work its magic.
I leave it on for 20 minutes then gently massage my face for about 1 minute before rinsing it off. Afterwards my skin looks freshened and healthy but not glowing or breathtakingly amazing, while it is a nice mask I don’t think It has won me over. I have even tried using it as a moisturizer at night and leaving it on all night but didn’t get any better results using it that way either. It says to use it daily but I really don’t have the time to use it daily coz I’m a lazy bum bum. So have tried using twice a week. Just an average mask and probably wouldn’t repurchase.
This gorgeous package arrived 10 days ago so I wanted to take the most amount of time to trial before placing the review. It is a 50g tub of Bee Venom Face Mask product presented absolutely perfectly. The tub itself is just as divine. When you open the lid you are presented with an assortment of aromas which of course make up the product, Peppermint is the first smell that comes to mind, however it is not an overwhelming one. The product is very thick but glides or feels so smooth when you rub between your fingers. OK, so down to the review of using this on my face. I have to admit I am not one to ever do a face mask so this was an absolute first for me. The first thing I noticed was the lack of information available (also via the wildferns website) as to exactly how much of the product should be used when applying to the face area. The directions simply state 'apply evenly to face', so for someone who was a first timer I found these instructions not very helpful. Inserting the words 'sparingly' or 'generously' would have been helpful. As I wasn't too sure how much product to use exactly I went for the 'generous' size amount. To apply I used my fingers, started from my forehead and worked my way down to the chin area. Again, perhaps as this was my first time applying a face mask cream, I found this process a tad awkward for the first couple of times. Initially, to apply evenly took a good five minutes, however by the end of the trial period I had this 'art' down to one minute. So the feeling/sensation once applied is amazing! You immediately feel a strong coldness sensation which lasts pretty much until you rinse off. The smell is just gorgeous. This product is more like a face moisturiser as opposed to a face mask (I thought a face mask was something you apply to your face then peel off). The product is to be left on the face for 20 minutes before rinsing off. The entire time it is on your face you can smell the sweet scents, even after rinsing off the smell still remains for hours. Did I think it does what is stated? Not for me. My skin is no softer or smoother, and has no new radiant appearance. There is no extra firmness or plumpness either :( Finally, after ten days of use, the tub is near empty. It does state quite clearly that 'after longer use more noticeable results will be achieved'. I could not afford to spend $38/$39 every fortnight. I thank Beauty Review for allowing me the opportunity to trial this product. XX
Tips: DO NOT USE IF ALLERGIC TO BEE STINGS - this is stated on the box and the product tub. Pat face with warm/hot face cloth when rinsed off to open pores. Use moisturiser as soon as possible afterwards to lessen the feeling of tightness.
My daughter had been raving about this mask (and I must admit it did appear to make a difference to her skin, so I rushed out to purchase my own. A little on the pricy side, but that aside, I was not disappointed. The packaging is attractive, a study and attractive container inside a box, with full description of contents and application on it. I do like the fact that is it a New Zealand product too! The texture of the mask inside is velvety smooth and easy to apply (you have to use your fingers here, which may not be such a good idea) so to prevent spread of bacteria have a spatula on hand. On application I felt a very mild tingling sensation particularly around the side of the nose, but it disappeared after five minutes or so. The mask is not difficult to remove (particularly if you use Garnier Miscellar water) and left the skin feeling really soft and smooth - no visible difference on first application so don't look for miracles! I used this twice a week for a fortnight and my skin did look good but only showed a noticable difference when I vamped it up to three times a week. I noticed visibly less dryness and a teeny bit of a glow. Now here is the million dollar question - are you meant to use it three times a week as it is going to be extremely costly? Yes the product is beautiful and no I dont believe it is the elixir to beauty and youth but it is good. One of the best masks I have used in a long time but needs very frequent application.
Tips: Definitely try it on a small area of the skin first as I dont think this will be a mask suitable for sensitive skins.
