The Manuka Honey skin care regime is overall not a bad regime however there are definitely some products that are way better than others. After using these products for a few weeks, I have noticed that I don't have as much redness anymore so it definitely does help.

My top pick would definitely be the toner, its gentle on the skin but it also gives a very thorough clean and leaves the skin refreshed and smooth.

The moisturiser did a good job at keeping my skin hydrated throughout the day however it did have a strong scent and I found it quite heavy and greasy when initially applied.

The facial wash helped remove any excess makeup on my skin however there was nothing remarkable about it and there are definitely a lot of other face washes that will do the same thing.

Overall this skin care regime could definitely me worth a try because it may benefit people with different skin types however it was not the ideal skin care for me.

Worth a go

While these products were overall pretty good, I'm not sure if I would use them and only them for my skincare regime. I like to mix things up and I'm not sure if I would be content using just these products everyday. Perhaps if the cleanser was a cream cleanser rather than a foam cleanser and there was a night time moisturiser in the regime I would see it as more of a complete regime.

These products do however work well together and if you like the strong-ish scent (which I think would put some people off), I'd say go ahead and try them!

Positives are it is reasonably priced, made in New Zealand and honey is obviously incredibly good for skin.

Tips: If you have dry skin like me, maybe tone once a day but cleanse every two days.

Not for me.

I was lucky enough to receive this skincare pack as a trial, thanks so much Beauty Review! I just wish I had better things to say about it. I’ve seen this skincare brand around a bit but mostly in souveneir shops, so I’d never really considered using it seriously. Also a background to my skin, I’m a combination oily kinda gal.

Firstly the cleanser. It’s a foaming cleanser which I don’t often use so was keen to try. It comes out easily, 1 pump is certainly enough and it seems like it will last a while. The thing which struck me first when I applied it to my face was the smell, and it wasn’t a good one. I’ve read reviews here of people saying they love the smell but I’m not a fan. I think this could be because it’s a Manuka pollen based product and I get quite bad hay fever. This makes me hypersensitive to the smell of pollen, I have the same issues with some flowers. Anyway, the smell is too much for me and I can’t stand it. The cleanser itself did a good job of leaving my skin feeling clean, albeit stripped. My skin felt really stripped and dry after using the cleanser but it was not a problem for me, perhaps due to my combination oily skin rehydrating, or applying moisturiser afterwards. The cleanser actually seemed to do a good job of cleaning my skin and I didn’t react badly to the product.

The toner seemed to work pretty well too. I don’t actually usually use a toner so I don’t have a lot to compare it to but it left my skin feeling nice and snatched. Again, there was a smell that I wasn’t a fan of.

Finally the moisturiser, again had a smell that I wasn’t keen on. The things that shocked me the most about this product was that it feels grainy when you put it on. Like, it feels like an exfoliant! I feel like moisturiser is a treat for your skin, almost relaxing after cleaning it each morning and night, but this was almost an irritant and wasn’t relaxing at all! It didn’t feel nice to put on and it felt like there were tiny bits of sand in the product. Strangely enough though the moisture actually worked well on my skin and left it feeling soft afterwards (the grainy stuff is not noticeable after a few minutes).

Summary/TLDR: products seem to do a good job BUT cleanser is way too smelly and strips skin/quite harsh, moisturiser is grainy and not smooth.

If you can get past the smell, grainy moisturiser and your skin can handle being stripped then this would be good for you. But I’ll be sticking with my goodness skincare regime, thanks.

A mixed bag!

This range was a mixed bag for me! I didn't enjoy the facial wash, I LOVED the toner and the moisturizer was pretty good (especially the SPF) but it was a bit heavy for me.

I thought the packaging over all was elegant and attractive and very functional. I really appreciated the products all being easy to travel with. I have no complaints about the packaging, it is good quality.

I came and went on the scent, I don't like orange a huge amount and it is quite strong in the facial wash. The toner had a nice refreshing scent and the moisturiser is subtle.

Overall I felt the range would suit a lot of people, with a gentle wash, refreshing toner and heavier moisturizer - it is a great summer range and good for sensitive skin.

Personally I like a cleanser with a bit more omfph and a lighter day moisturiser. But I cannot rave about the toner enough - it rivals micellar water for me.

Absolutely worth trying the range and it is a great price!

Tips: Be sure to follow up the wash with the toner each time!

Not for my skin type

my Skin typ is combination and in summer it’s more in the oily side. I found this regime just did not do anything for my skin type. The whole regime smelt lovely but it just didn’t do what I want skin care to do. The foaming cleanser I felt didn’t take of all the dirt off my skin, the toner was good but I had to use about 3 cotton rounds just to remove any excess oils and dirt from my skin but that’s because the face wash wasn’t that good and the sun screen was too heavy for me. Although, it didn’t break me out which is a positive. Overall, I feel like this regime is best suited for someone with normal to dry skin. Ill go into more detail in my reviews on the individual products if you want to check them out.

Okay but not great

I found this range did the job, left my skin looking and feeling nice, and didn't have any MAJOR drawbacks - but it wasn't a joy to use and had a couple of small niggles that would probably keep me from repurchasing most, if not all, of the range.

The main thing that I will say for the range is that it seems to be incredibly soothing - I have a lot of red pigmentation on my face despite mostly being a yellow toned girl, so I usually use a light covering of concealer on lots of my face to even out the redness. While using this range, I found that the redness was reduced enough that I used about 1/3 less concealer compared to normal, so that was a definite bonus.

On the downsides, I really hate using scented products on my face and I found the scent of them very powerful and cloying, especially the face wash. The range was also very sticky, so not very pleasant to use. The first time I put them on I was so put off by the stickiness that I considered washing it all off and chucking them in the bin! Fortunately, given a couple of minutes they do settle into the skin nicely and the stickiness doesn't remain at all.

The packaging on the face wash was particularly nice (I had a different one to the cleanser that's pictured) - I wish the other two had more similar, minimalist looks but they were a bit more functional and sturdy instead, particularly the moisturiser.

The moisturiser was quite thick and smeary, but it did smooth into the skin nicely and is the product I'm most likely to rebuy, as I think it did most of the grunt work with reducing the redness and had the least overpowering scent. However, I actually DON'T recommend using the moisturiser and toner together - the toner seemed to make the moisturiser almost impossible to smooth into my skin, it would just smear and streak everywhere instead. Patting it into the skin worked, but it just made the job so finnicky I didn't feel like the toner was worthwhile.

Overall, I will continue using the moisturiser and I miiiiight consider repurchasing it if my skin is noticeably more red, but I certainly won't be using the face wash or toner.

Tips: If you do use the toner and then the moisturiser and have trouble massaging it into your skin, try patting it in instead.

Either the cleanser or the toner did leak a bit when travelling, so definitely wrap them in a plastic bag before packing them for a trip!

Wild Ferns Manuka Honey Skin Care Regime

These were great products to try out. The routine was easy. My skin did have a little breakout the first couple of days as it adjusted to this regime but overtime they went away and no others appeared. Although they weren't the best for my skin type, the toner really stood out to me. Unlike other toners that leave your face feeling overly tight or sticky this one absorbed quickly and my skin felt tight yet soft! Will say this regime did make my skin feel relatively nice because I was committed but at the end of the day the shine that the moisturiser left was too much despite using so little each time. As mentioned in the two other reviews I'm definitely keen to hold on to these products and see how well it works during the cool, dry months because I feel that it would work wonders. Cost wise, it a little more than most that you'd buy in a supermarket but a good investment if you're in need of some rejuvenation, a glow and it has great other benefits due to the honey component!

Tips: You can spray the toner directly on your face and it still feels amazing. No cotton pad needed.

Good value but...

This set of three products comes beautifully packaged, with the promise of lots of natural skin care goodness and no nasties.

The cleanser is a clear bottle with pump that foams the pretty pale gold liquid into a foam. I was a little concerned that it would be a pain to use in the shower as I normally do my morning cleanse in the shower, but the pump button is big enough to be easy to use when your hands are wet. A single pump is plenty so this will last for ages. The problem for me was the scent - a very heavy cloying honey and orange which i found overwhelming. Even used in the evening the smell put me off. The product leaves the skin feeling fresh and clean but for me slightly too dry and tight.

Confession - I am not great with toner, either they irritate my skin or they do nothing. This one, like the cleanser is slightly too drying on my dry/sensitive skin so I stopped using it after a few days. It is less strongly perfumed and the pale yellow bottle looks nice and is easy to use. Note that it is slightly too big to travel with being 140mls.

The moisturiser comes in a 75ml tube which is great for travel or throwing into your beach bag especially with the SPF30. Again it has the honey-orange scent although it seems less cloying in the moisturiser than the cleanser. It is a beautiful consistency but not quite emollient enough for me, my skin always felt tight and uncomfortable afterwards. Occasionally when i use it, my skin stings slightly.

I really wanted to love this product and kept trying different things such as only using the toner once a day then dropping it out completely but the range never quite worked. While it says all skin types if your skin is dry or reactive this may not be the right choice for you.

Tips: Great ingredients with good practical packaging but not that great on dry/sensitive skin. Make sure you smell the product first if you are sensitive to scents

Not for me

Hi everyone. I was lucky enough to get trial for amazing Newzealand made skin care and thank you beauty review for that. Really appreciate for it. Little bit explain about my skin. I have dehydrated, combination skin type. My nose, around mouth and chin are have some dryness but afternoon it's get oil too.

Let's start with first step which foam cleanser. My skin never ever likes foam cleanser. I always use cream cleanser. When I use first time it's literally strip my skin and after use you can see it so many dry patches and I barley can smile that much how bad was. That's no for me because of my skin type.

Toner :- first of all I don't own any this kind of toner which has alcohol in it. My prefers is alcohol free toner so I can use it as 7 skin method. This toner is great after remove your makeup because it is remove left any makeup residue . And prepare your skin for next step. Not big fan but good to have in my skincare collection.

Moisturiser :- I have love hate relationship with this cream. It has spf and very hydrating too. If you are normal to dry skin you will definitely love it. When I apply on my face I feel little bit like micro scrubing feel on my skin. I don't know but you have same experience please let me know. It is very thick and heavy too when I apply. Make sure you apply tiny bit otherwise it will give greasy skin and white cast if you have tan to dark skin. One thing I love about this moisturiser is it is give you feeling like you applied nice hydrating primer so I use when I wear matte foundation. Perfect combo.

Hey, I had the same issue with my moisturiser! Like, it feels like it’s got bits of sand in it! I thought there might be something wrong with mine, like the sugars in the pollen crystallised or something but clearly it seems to be the norm.

Definite pros and cons to these products

I received the foaming cleanser, toner and moisturiser with sunscreen as part of a trial team.

Cleanser: It is a watery texture which dispenses with a foaming pump, producing a rich foam. It has a strong, perfumey honey-orange type scent, which can be a bit much at times. The cleanser feels nice and soothing on my skin and cleanses well without leaving my skin feeling dry or stripped (I have normal/dry skin). It is around pH5 5-6 (tested with pH strips), which is ideal. I will use this bottle up but will not repurchase simply because there are other cleansers I prefer.

Toner: A watery toner that comes in a spray bottle, but instructions state to apply with a cotton ball. Alcohol free and does not irritate my skin, but also has the same strong, perfumey scent. Leaves my skin feeling clean and hydrated. Also tested around pH 5-6. Despite coming in a spray bottle, I would not recommend spraying it directly on your face, because if it gets on your lips it is horrendously bitter! I don't see the point of this packaging - a simple screw top bottle would be more practical and less wasteful. Might finish the bottle but would not repurchase.

Moisturiser: This is a thick, white cream that claims to have SPF 30. It has the same perfumey scent as the other products. I disliked this product as it had a very strange gritty texture. I could not see any grains but it felt like very finely ground sand and felt like one of those "microdermabrasion" cream exfoliants. Unpleasant to apply and made my skin a little sore in the sensitive areas around my mouth and nose, makes my neck red from the friction. This cream also has an oily feeling and never fully absorbs, however it doesn't look oily on the skin. Very strange product! Also, be aware that if your face gets wet the cream will form white drips down your face... Will not continue using due to sheer discomfort and will not repurchase.

Overall, the foaming cleanser is the only product that does not have any real flaws - though the scent may be too strong for some.

Something to note: This range of products claims to have "80+" manuka extract, but it was not clear whether it was a UMF rating or something they had come up on their own. It also says something about manuka pollen, so I'm not even sure if it's honey extract or which part of the manuka plant it's from.

Weird, is all I can say.

Tips: Don't get the toner on your lips as it is very bitter. The moisturiser is not suitable for sensitive skin as it has a very gritty texture that can be quite irritating.
