Crazy colour payoff

I received 2 of these in the last Goodiebox and was really excited by them. I have a gorgeous coppery orange colour called Inferno and a beautiful green called Jetset. The colours are gorgeous and shimmery and really pigmented on. If you add water they are even more intensely pigmented. I love the simple pots they come in, with the matte black lid and sifter inside which helps with clumsy people like me! I wore them over an eye primer and they lasted all day, I'll have to try without and see what the lasting power is them. Can't wait to buy more shades! (Oh and no scent with mine thankfully!)

Amazing pigments

These sleek eye dusts are incredibly pigmented and last all day/night WITHOUT creasing! I know, it sounds too good to be true, but it's not! I sprayed my brush in some Mac fix plus and then dipped the brush into the eye dust, it went on my eye very easily and literally stayed put until I took off my makeup. Definitely would recommend as a dupe for higher end pigments.

Tips: Use with some fix plus or setting spray for a more intense look that will stay on all day!

My Fantasy!

Shazatron gave me the Sleek eye dusts that she had in Fantasy a metallic purple and So Sleek which is a hot pink colour. Of course I wouldn't use a fish smelling product like Shaz described a few reviews down so I will stick to the Fantasy colour.

I have heard of Sleek and had always loved the look of their shadows but never knew they came in one pot wonders. I love that it comes in such a big pot with a black screw top lid and a sieve like mechanism in it to shake through only what you need without wasting it.

The colour itself is beyond gorgeous. It is a metallic hazy purple that can be worn either light or intense bold because you can build it. I love how the texture is like beaded pigments that explode when you apply them and give a bolder, brighter colour.

The stay power is quite impressive. I am usually cursed with shadows that find their way to the creases of my lids but this one actually stays put for the most part. The purple really sets off my eyes too. It's such a versatile colour that it would suit any colour eyes. I use it as a smoked out colour with a light lilac and oh the compliments I get with it.

Although I didn't buy this, at $11 a pot I would most definitely buy more colours to complete my set. It is gorgeous, affordable and quality plus so what is not to love.

Tips: Tap the brush off so you don't use too much product. Build it slowly

beautiful pigment

After reading the reviews I had a wee play with the 2 colours that I got sent in my goodie box.

I have Inferno- a gorgeous burnt orangey pigment, I felt a bit so so orginally with this colour as would not be something I would usually wear but once you add water to your brush it is such a beautiful colour. this could be layered with browns/nudes for a day to night look for town

The second colour I got is Called Jet Set, which is a beautiful deep greeny colour, I did actually wear this out all over the lid and along lash line with a bit of dark in the corner and it looked amazing. This added with water is Super pigmented and stunning, just my sort of colour

They are a loose powder but have a sifter so are not too messy which is good for someone clumsy like me and I also had no scent with these two .

I think they are quite cheap aswell so for the price and the look I will be recommending and buying more

After looking at the website at some of the colours I can't wait

Tips: wet your brush for a super pigmented look can however use dry also

Inferno & Eden

I have Sleek Eye Dust in two different colours, Inferno and Eden. Inferno is a gorgeous bronze colour and Eden is a deep forest green.

Both Inferno and Eden are shimmering metallic pigments that are extremely buildable. A pigment is similar to loose eyeshadow, just very pigmented and gives off good colour.

Sleek Eye Dust is packaged in simple 6.5g clear plastic pots with a little sifter underneath the black screw top lid. There is a clear sticker on top of the stifter than needs to be removed before it's used, otherwise the sifter won't dispense the eye dust effectively. Sometimes it's difficult to see the sticker, especially if the eye dust has 'leaked' before being opened and has coated the sticker in pigment.

The sifter makes it easy to pick up a little of the eye dust on the tip of a brush without dipping all the bristles into the pot and then ending up with too much, especially if the brush is wet. It also prevents the pigment from being blown away if there's a sudden breeze and helps to keep it hygenically clean.

One thing I didn't like about these pigments was the fallout which ended up under my eyes and on the top of my cheekbones when I applied it for the first time. This can easily be rectified in various ways: use as little as possible on the brush and build the colour up slowly; do all eye make-up first before applying foundation; hold a tissue under the eyes whilst applying the pigment or use the pigment as a coloured eyeliner on a wet brush.

If you do choose to use the pigment on a wet angled brush as coloured eyeliner, I found that doing one eye at a time works best. I rinse the brush bristles and gently squeeze out any excess water from the brush before picking up more pigment to do my second eye. This prevents the pigment from drying out on the brush and falling down under my eyes or onto my cheekbones.

Tips: Try applying a little eyeshadow primer first if you want to use this as eyeshadow over the entire eyelid (if you don't have primer, apply a thin layer of foundation or concealer to your eyelids). This will give the pigment something to stick to.

Ooh Baby!

I have this in the shade 'Ooh Baby!' This was gifted to me by a fellow BR member and is a baby blue shade with silver shimmer particles.

This comes in a jar that has a matte black lid. I love that the lid is matte as it makes it super easy to take off and put back on. There is a sifter in the jar so too much product doesn't come flying out at you.

This is different to a regular shadow in that it is more of a pigment. It is loose powder and is extremely pigmented and saturated with colour. What I really love about this is that you can make it insanely intense by using it wet.

Luckily for me, this has no scent (see poor shazatrons review). I don't really like using scented products on my face (Too Faced's Chocolate Bar palette is an exception), so the fact this has no scent is great.

I would purchase these as the one I have is super pigmented and easy to use. The sifter in the jar makes this less messy than other pigments I have used.

Good but beware of fall out!

I love the colours of my sleek pigments but I do find them to be a bit too chunky and difficult to pick up on a larger eyeshadow brush. When I used a detail brush however I had much more success. Fantastic value for money considering the amount of product you get.

Tips: A medium or some water would really help if you want to use it as an all over eyelid colour.

Dusts

I got two colours in the Goodiebox a couple of months back, one in the colour shown and a purple shade.

The little pots are cute and with a twist cap the dust is kept secure. I found the product came out with a few shakes - glad it wasnt too easy to shake out.

The product is very pigmented but at the same time very buildable - I prefer using my finger over a brush or tip, it seemed easier to blend out.

Great product! For me personally I wouldnt have bought these colours at the price they are as I prefer neutrals but if you use vibrant colours alot then these would be perfect.

Amazing Quality!

The Sleek Eye Dust pots are impressive wee things! They are sort of a loose eyeshadow alternative.

The powder is SUPER highly pigmented - I use only a smidgen on each eye and it covers the whole area with bold, bright and shimmering colour. It is great as a base or as a finish shadow, and the bold shades from the range would be amazing for a night out. The colour lasts all day without smudging, fading or creasing.

There was one thing that annoyed me about this product range, though; the pots come with a little plastic filter type thing, which you use to shake out a little of the product at a time. Mine barely allowed any product out at all though, so I ended up removing the plastic filter. Pretty unnecessary.

What the HELL is that smell!?

I recently received two of these shades in the Feb Goodiebox, and I was pretty happy with that as Sleek isn't a brand I would go out of my way to purchase, and neither is eye shadow! I have the shades 690 So Sleek and 681 Fantasy.

Fantasy is a gorgeous purple. In the little jar it looks shimmery and metallic. Swatched on my hand just now it is very metallic. It is also very buildable, and looks much better the more you put on as the metallic really gets a chance to shine. In some lights it looks almost grey or brown, but in the right light it is absolutely gorgeous. I really like this color.

So Sleek is a lovely, Barbie pink. In the jar it doesn't seem very shimmery, but it looks like it has purple undertones if you look at the right angle. Swatched on my hand just now it is very pigmented, and you almost don't need to keep adding to it to get the same color in the jar. It is not nearly as metallic as Fantasy but it is still very nice (albeit not my color!). The pink does have some sort of shimmery effect to it, though. It isn't metallic but it is almost glittery.

However. There is no noticeable smell to the purple, but the pink? Good GOD where did they get their ingredients? A rotten fish market?! It smells absolutely foul. My fiance, Captain Must-Touch-Everything, opened it and he almost threw it across the room, commenting on how it smelled like a woman who hadn't washed her lady parts for a while. I don't understand why it smells like this and I'm in half a mind to email both Sleek and Goodiebox to ask why it smells like this.

I used the purple over the weekend, and while it was only a thin coat, it lasted all day and frankly, I looked fabulous. The purple suits my eyes really nicely. So while I would use the purple again, I might not use the pink out of fear that people would be able to smell the eye shadow and think it was coming from me!!

Tips: Use with a wet brush!! The pigment becomes out of this world!

I still need to do my reviews but I got Eden (green) & Inferno (bronze) and they don't smell, thankfully! Lol, I had to laugh at your phrase "Captain Must-Touch-Everything" as I'm married to Captain Must-Sniff-Everything!

Love your review! Love the Captain Must-Touch-Everything, I'm pretty sure I'm married to his brother lol. And I couldn't imagine anything worse than a fish-smelling eye product....right above your nose for maximum effect!
