Smashbox Liquid Halo HD Foundation SPF 15 Review

I'm a big fan of smashbox so was keen to try this foundation out. It leaves a beautiful glow even after I set it with a powder. Its a sheer coverage foundation so isn't designed to be super heavy. Leaves your skin looking fresh and even!

I was lucky enough to get a couple of these for $10 each at a closing down sale! I'd heard amazing things about Smashbox and figured I had nothing to lose at that price.

The things that appeal to me are the SPF content, any extra bit helps right? The fact that it's long wearing and sweat resistant, and the biggest plus was that it's buildable. I typically like a sheer finish, but when I am going out for the night I like a heavier coverage. This gives me the luxury of both options in the same product.

I use 3 pumps each morning onto my fingertips, rub them together and then spread on. It's a really quick and easy way to apply, but I get a really even, light finish. If I want a heavier coverage then I use a brush and build it up.

It has a beautiful finish, not matte or dewy, but soft - kind of like your own instagram filter!

I have this foundation ,it is great when applied with a damp beauty blender,but if applied with fingers I found it looked cakey,I set it with powder as it's not a matte finish,it is buildable but being in the mature age group I have to be awere of it sitting in fine lines and wrinkles ,this product did not do that,it has a pump on the bottle which is fantastic

This is actually a really lovely formula. It is definitely one of the lighter foundations available. However, it is absolutely beautiful on those people who have near perfect skin and just want a little bit of evening out of the skin tone. I think it’s a great one for teens just getting into wearing makeup as well as it is hardly noticeable and very soft and light. It will last all day with a primer, easily. Applies best with a beauty blender or a dome shaped buffing foundation brush. It is not buildable at all really though. It looks gorgeous when paired with the halo powder!

Really nice, smooth foundation. It is quite light in cover and it doesn't build up. So great for those wanting a sheer natural look. I personally like more coverage. Blends nicely and lasts well.

I'm not a make up every day person, more of for special occasions so spending a bit more to get a good product is justifiable as it should last a while but it definitely is a lot to say for foundation. That said it is a very nice product to use. I apply using a brush and find I get nice even coverage and it blends well. I was a bit worried when I first put it on as it felt quiet thick but found after about 10 mints this disappeared and it was fine. Lasts all day no problem and doesn't seem to transfer on to clothing like some do. I would recommend this as a good product but I think if I was using it everyday it would be just too expensive

Pros: I found this foundation lightweight and moistising on my very dry skin. Great colour match for my skin tone.

Cons: Not the greatest coverage of as long-lasting as I would have hoped for.

Overall, I found this to be a great foundation for during the weekend, but not for going out or work.

Pros: I love the feel and lightness of this foundation. It's easy to apply and the colour looks great.

Cons: Not as long lasting as I would hope. I'm not looking for full coverage but wanted the foundation to last throughout the day more effectively. For the price range, I feel like there were better products out there for me (although this would probably be amazing for someone with a slightly different skin combination).

Not a huge fan of this, just for the fact that I like a medium to full coverage foundation. I didn't find this foundation to be buildable at all, and didn't find it sheer-to-medium, but completely sheer, no matter how many layers I applied. It does have even coverage, and is moisturising and long-wearing. I think it would be great if you were looking for a sheer, natural-looking foundation, but unfortunately I wasn't. Very pricey, but very high quality!
