Even though I only had 1 week to try the shampoo bar, it has managed to impress the hell out of me. At first sniff the scent doesn’t overpower, and isn’t that fake banana smell that can be quite off putting. The bar is shaped similar to a water drop, which is far easier to keep a hold of especially when wet. I was a wee bit sceptical of the bars ability to foam up, but was pleasantly surprised that the foam ability is comparable to normal liquid shampoo. The shampoo bar works perfectly to cleanse both my scalp and hair, and I found it didn’t strip my hair of my natural oils nor did it strip any colour from my hair. All in all, I have to say that I’m loving the shampoo bar so far, and I’m definitely going to look at getting more once this one runs out!

I was very hesitant to try this because it's a whole new concept to me. To my surprise it lathers up so well and smells faintly like real banana. Good thing is the smell doesn't linger if you're not a fan. I would absolutely repurchase this, and I love that there's no plastic packaging.
Tips: Store this in a soap dish with drainage so it doesn't go gummy at the bottom. Build lather on your hands before massaging on your scalp to avoid getting hair all through it.
Well I have never tried a shampoo bar before ,so was keen as to trial this, arrived in a nice recycleable box ,points for that . . On opening it was a lovely shape sort of tear drop which fits in ones hand nicely ,I liked the shape ,I was curious how it would lather ,but it lathered extremely well ,it had a nice fragrance ,not over powering ,I was very dubious this product would help my dry hair ,but kept an open mind . The product washed out well and very easily ,but I did find my hair a little knotty and straw like ,definitely needed conditioner.
I found the product interesting ,absolutely did a good job of washing my hair ,not sure shampoo bars would be my choice though as storage is not as easy as a bottle and more messy .
Garnier have designed this bar well and lived up to my expectations.
Tips: You don’t need a lot of water to lather up the bar
I didn't like the smell at first but once I became accustomed to it I found this to be perfect. Eliminates the need for a bottle, takes up less room in the shower, and foams just like a bottle shampoo.
My hair is thinning and there is less of it now, but this just pumps it out. No greasy feeling - simply awesome.
Tips: Make sure you put the soap in something that will keep it dry after used.
I was most apprehensive trying a bar shampoo but was delighted with the result. I also thought the banana smell would drive me crazy but to be honest it has more of a tropical scent that I love. The bar was just a perfect size to hold in your hand and get it into the roots of your hair. It foamed up immediately and cleansed deeply. The fact it had no artificial colours, was dermatologically tested and was 98% biodegradable was a big plus. My scalp is fairly sensitive but this bar shampoo didn't leave it itchy . Overall I was very impressed and would use it again. The only thing I felt it didn't do was give body to my hair. This may be because I have fine hair and don't normally use a conditioner. As I was using a conditioner with this product it may have had the effect of smoothing it out so it didn't look as bouncy as normal. However the shine, scalp reaction and lasting cleanliness has me converted to this bar shampoo.
Tips: Keep the bar in a container after use and dry as possible. A little goes a long way as it foams up well.
I’ve never tried a shampoo bar before so this was a new experience I was surprised how quick and how much it soaps up with a bit of water. The smell is amazing and the lather was really good on my hair i felt it was a good amount and really cleaned my hair, My hair still felt a bit dry after using the shampoo so I did the next step. The bar didn’t take too long to dry and has been easy to reuse I feel like it will last a lot longer than your usual bottle of shampoo.
Tips: You don’t need too much water for it to lather up and rub it onto your hair to get it started.
I have to admit I was very sceptical about using a bar of soap to wash my hair but am totally sold! The bar comes in a cardboard box for easy recycling and smells Devine. The bar is vegan also which I love and is just all round good for the planet. It is super easy to just pick up, use and put down in the shower. You get a really thick feeling lather from the tiniest amount of soap. Unlike other shampoos it didn’t just froth up it felt like it gave a really deep clean but not to the point of completely stripping natural oils. I am absolutely in love with this product and will definitely be purchasing it in the future

Amazing! I am actually shocked by this shampoo bar. First off the packaging is cute, minimal and recyclable which I love. The shampoo bar is a funny shape which I thought weird at first. The scent isn't overpowering which could be a concern for some, it smells like yellow foam lollies not intensely banana-ry (I wouldn't mind though I love banana) The bar itself looked a bit dry and cracked. I have oily fine hair, I can only wear my hair down on wash day as its too oily on day 2 and looks lank. Once I started using the bar I discovered the shape helps you hold onto it without dropping which is great. You use it by wetting your hair and rubbing the bar over your hair, I tell you, the lather I got was so thick and rich and satisfying - nothing like bottle shampoo at all. Rinsing out I could feel my scalp and hair were super clean, I decided to only wash once where I'd usually shampoo twice. I am shocked, genuinely by how long my hair stayed clean, I cannot remember a time I've worn my hair down FOUR days in a row! Never! Not even 2 days, I've used salon shampoo and conditioner for the last 10 years and this bar is hands down 50x better. I am shocked how long my hair stays clean. I have reccomended this to everyone I know and friends have bought it on my reccomendation and agree. Magic!
Tips: Rub the bar over your hair.
I want to preface this by saying I don't shampoo my hair very often - only when it feels like it needs clarifying (I follow the Curly Girl method).
I have long been a fan of the Hair Food Conditioner/Mask, so was super excited to try the Shampoo Bar. It happened to arrive on a day when my hair was actually very ready to be shampooed!
The packaging is lovely, and very eco friendly. I love the smell of the bar, and Garnier team put great thought into the shape of the bar - the tear drop shape & size means that it fit so perfectly in my hand, and wasn't going to slip out.
Following the instructions, I smoothed the bar downwards over my, even flipping over my hair to get underneath. What followed was a lovely bubbly foam, with a delicious smell.
When I washed it out, I could very quickly tell that my hair was clean!
This will definitely be my go-to for clarifying my hair - thanks Garnier!
Tips: Find an airtight container to take into the shower with you - this is the best way to store the bar once you have used it for the first time.
I have not used many shampoo bars at all so I was excited to try this out, I was even more excited when I found out it was garnier banana hair food! I absolutely love the hair food range especially the banana.
It comes in a wee box which is perfect for recycling. The bar itself is shaped like a tear drop and you can smell it before you even open the box. I wet my hair then rubbed the bar directly on and boom it started lathering beautifully. I got my desired amount then massaged it all over my hair then rinsed out.
I got the tiniest bit of colour washout but nothing to worry about. My hair felt clean and wasn't a tangled mess at all. The fragrance is nice but definitely not as bananary as the conditioner.
Upon drying my hair was soft and clean, it wasn't a frizz ball and it smelt great. I used this in conjunction with the matching banana hair food conditioner and they compliment each other nicely. I like the ease of using a shampoo bar and it is something I would buy myself. It is way better for the environment and quite cost effective.
Tips: Make sure you keep it in an airtight container between use....it fits perfectly in a soap travel container :-)
