Growing up I have always had acne prone skin / hormonal skin and dry skin. I almost gave up hope trying everything like proactiv and all. So I settled for something closer to home. St Ives apricot scrub, the smell is overpowering but it smells good enough to put on your skin - I like it. The thick cream comes out with tones of large granules which is great I guess because it does it better job for my skin. It has a great consistency when your scrubbing your face with in and the results are immediate, you don't have to wait one or two weeks for a better looking skin. My scars had faded as well as redness, acne and blackheads. It did come out drier than usual because I was using this twice everyday because it was THAT GREAT! but I counteracted that with a good based facial oil. I will always fall back on this product when trying new scrubs and exfoliaters because I know it will always work for me.
Tips: Use not only on face but neck, back and chest where I also usually breakout. The results take a bit longer to see but eventually the acne I suffer in those areas do get better and sure enough disappear without scarring.
This is one product I always repurchase when finished. I think one of the reasons is that it is readily available at all supermarkets and it does a good job as a scrub. I use this every second day and it helps to cleanse the skin as well as remove any dry patches/blemishes. I wouldn't say the results are life changing but it does enough to provide a clean smooth canvas.
First of all, I have major acne issues- no matter what I do, my skin in never clear. However, I have been using this product for some time, and I do think it helps a fair bit. It makes my skin feel clean and softer, and smells really nice too. Also I love using products with natural ingredients, especially since I can have quite sensitive skin.
This has been a staple in my routine for quite some time and will continue to be as long as it's available!
Tips: Easiest to use in the shower so you make sure to wash all the exfoliating balls off your face! Also you can pick this up from pretty much any supermarket in NZ, which is handy.
I have heard a lot of good things about this scrub so thought it was worth a try and my mum used to swear by the stuff when I was a teenager. So I tried it and to put it nicely I really didn't like it. It is much too abrasive for me and made my face sting and quite sore and I don't have sensitive skin by any means. I gave it a good go using it twice a week, not as a daily scrub as it wouldn't do me any favours, It made me break out badly and I for sure won't try again. The cleanser itself is nice and creamy I just wish the beads weren't as rough as they are.
I didn't like this product. It was to harsh on the skin. I am a sensitive skin type and I am use to using a gentle exfoliator so maybe that is why I didn't enjoy it?
I have oily/acne prone skin and this works wonders! It's honestly the only acne-fighting scrub that I've noticed a difference with. I use this in conjunction with the St Ive's scrub that has green tea in it, the one that helps with blackheads and redness, and my skin is starting to look a lot better than it did a few months ago. I wouldn't recommend to those with sensitive skin as it's a very course scrub but for me it's just perfect! The smell isn't horrible or too strong either. :)
Have a love hate relationship with this face scrub. It does what it says its meant to but now my skin CANNOT go without it... the minute i stop using it i breakout so bad and no other product can control it. So yeah.. Love Hate this.
I've repurchased this after not using it for about a year. I brought it cheap from the warehouse, like $8. I honestly don't know why i stopped using this. Its the best! My skin always feels really clean after using this product. I've used other exfoliators, and they just don't do it for me. I have definitely noticed a reduction in my breakouts since I've started reusing this again, and my makeup has been looking so much better lately. I only use this 2-3 times a week. I have combination/normal skin, and this is the perfect amount of use for me. I am never going to stop using this. Don't know why I stopped in the first place!
Tips: This is not a makeup remover, so remove make up first then use this product.
I used to have really bad scars from past pimples, and as a teenager that can be very annoying, I did not have time to always apply concealer and would sometimes have to leave the house with a bare face which made me very self conscious. I started using this product and it made my older scars fade and any new pimples were gone in a span of two days. I found this good and for the price is worked really well.
Tips: My friend used the same thing but it did not work the same for her, so depending on your skin type it may work differently
