First impressions when I saw the product was that the packaging was very cute! Nice wee pink jar it came in and when I unscrewed the lid the smell of coconut made my mouth water!
The consistency is that of a thinner cream, so not heavy at all. It is an opaque cream not a watery thin cream but felt like I was applying a watery thin cream. It is a bit sticky which I attribute to the coconut element so when applying before your moisturiser (as directed to do so on the packaging) I did have to wait for it to 'dry down' before applying moisturiser. Because it is a lighter cream, layering of cosmetics is not a problem at all. I used cream followed by moisturiser and sunscreen and I didn't find it to be heavy at all. On some days, I also applied a cream bronzer and it did not make application any different or make my bronzer 'glide' around my face. Key step is to make sure that you let it dry down and not be as sticky/tacky.
I found application really straight forward and easy to use. The scent of coconut is such a nice smell. Not too overpowering but enough to be there and last the entire day! I loved it!
I typically get really dry in the cooler months and certain areas of my face can become flaky. I found that the cream really helped in those areas and made me feel less dry. I also noticed that my skin was a bit 'dewy' which I really liked and didn't mind at all as I saw it as locking in the moisture. I applied a few dots around my face (the size of my pink nail) and rubbed it in. A little goes a long way.
I didn't notice any sensitivity when applying the cream so that is always a bonus!
Given the size of the jar, I didn't think it would last me that long but I was wrong. I think with consistent use in your daily routine, this would last a good two to three months.
Given the price ($28.99 from Chemist Warehouse at the time of writing) I think it fits perfectly with the product and don't think it is overpriced at all given the active ingredients in there and how nice it made my skin feel.
The packaging is very beautiful. The baby pink is definitely something that I like about it and the holographic logo. I found because of the coconut scent, it added to the aesthetic of the brand and made it different to others in the market and makes it look nice when placed with my other creams. Makes me reach for it more!
Overall, I think that this cream is really nice and does what it says it would do - main ones for me where tackling the dryness and leaving my skin feeling soft and radiant. I have already started to look at the other products in the range so I guess that means I'll be buying it again after I run out. The coconut scent is such a positive for me! It is the perfect amount of coconut fragrance and not too much that it overdoes it. Left me smelling amazing all day!
Sugarbaby Dream Cream Face Cream contains some fantastic ingredients packed into adorable yet sturdy packaging.
The texture is lovely, similar to a gel moisturiser I use except a bit thicker. It sinks in easily, and a little goes a long way!
Unfortunately for me, I have breakout prone skin. I have managed to get it under control and hadn't experienced a breakout in many months... until about a week in to trialling this product.
I know that niacinamide often takes the blame for causing skin to purge, but I've been using niacinamide in my routine for a very long time so I don't think that was the cause. Possibly the shea butter? Whatever the reason, it's a shame as this most definitely feels like a nourishing cream that would be ideal for winter.
Although it didn't work out for me, I would still recommend it to those with dry skin so long as you're not super prone to breaking out!
