The first natural facial cleanser I used. I was short of cash and it was the cheapest natural, SLS-free cleanser I could find. It was recommended for all skin types and at $15 a bottle it seemed worth a shot. Unfortunately this product dried out my skin. It went from oily/normal combination to sensitive/dry for the duration I was using it. My face was tight, red, dry and irritated and the rest of the Sukin range I used in conjunction to get better results, didn't help. I never found of the signature citrus/vanilla Sukin smell appealing, but that's just personal tastes. I wasn't willing to toss it so I waited till I had used up the entire bottle and then ran out and switched brands to a nice cream cleanser and within a week my skin was nice and smooth and even toned and all the sensitivity disappeared.
Tips: If you can, get a sample of this first to see how your skin reacts to this. I should've done this prior to purchasing, luckily this cleanser isn't expensive.
My mum uses this, tried it for a few weeks while I wait for my 'Proactiv' supply, and gave me pimplesss! Smells good and inexpensive, but would never use it again.
Tips: Dried my skin after using, so definitly use a good moisturizer afterwards.
I have sensitive skin and have always been using natural and organic products with the expectation that it works. When I used this, I was extremely disappointed after so many people saying it was amazing. It did nothing for my skin and I still felt unclean. Its a great brush cleanser though.
Tips: Brush cleanser
I was a bit disappointed with this product. I was really hoping it would be great but sadly, for my skin, it was not.
After using the cleanser for the first time, my skin tripled its dryness. My skin was peeling. My skin has been dry since I can remember. But the cleanser made it worse. Even though I used the Sukin Sensitive moisturiser. My skin had dry patches. And the more I use it the more my skin got sensitive to the point where patches of skin stings and really hurts when you touch it. I dont know why this cleanser has this effect on me.
Tips: Try out samples first before buying
I tried this and the facial moisturiser a couple of months back after hearing such positive things about them. This cleanser was not right for my skin at all, my skin tends to be a bit dry and it felt terrible after using it! It felt like all the oil had been stripped from my face and I needed to use a ton of moisturiser. I also found the smell way too strong and sweet for my liking.
I like natural products, however I find this one quite drying on my skin. I have combination skin, so it is hard to get the right balance in a cleanser (I am still looking for the perfect cleanser!!) Overall though, Sukin is a great brand.
I wasn't super impressed with this product, it claims not to be drying and to be suitable for sensitive skins however I found that the green tea and witch hazel ingredients overpowered the oil composition and as the cleanser foamed on my skin it felt tight and dry afterwards. I'm unsure if this is just specific to my skin or if other people have experienced it. I grabbed a bottle in a rush because my professional cleanser ran out and the organic line appealed to me. Maybe I should have chosen another product from their line. I would still reccommend this to other people but maybe people with a true oily skin would benefit from this more. Please leave a comment if anyone has had a similiar experience with this product? :)
Tips: I would suggest normal skin users to make sure they have a richer moisturiser on hand just incase they experience similiar contra-actions as I did.
I bought this foaming cleanser once to give it a try and while in overall it was OK I wouldn't be going back to buy another one now that its has finished.
The packaging gives an impression that its made of natural chemical free ingredients and the description with ingredients confirmed that too which I found appealing and I became interested.
I have a very sensitive/dry skin, a lot of redness and I try to use products that are suitable for sensitive skin that are gentle and can offer protection and repair of broken skin cells.
While this cleanser felt gentle and light in terms of no harshness or heaviness, no chemicals. It still didn't feel like it was healing and soothing enough while cleaning the skin properly. My skin didn't feel soft and refreshed and smoothed enough nor did it decrease the redness and sensitivity. I used it twice a day.
I also found it too watery and wasted a lot of the product while in the shower.
Tips: don't pump too much as its quite watery consistency and a lot of the product gets wasted
This is one of the more affordable natural skin care products. I purchased this from Farmers for around $11.
A lot of natural skin care products aren't foaming as they don't contain Sodium Lauryl Sulfate which gives it that foaming property.
In saying that, I didn't find the Sukin cleanser to have the same sort of lather as you would expect in other (non natural) products.
That for me was one slight downside. I think the biggest drawback though was that I found it quite drying.
The smell was decent. Overall, I wouldn't repurchase this.
