Affordable shiny shampoo

I had used up all my luxury shampoo and sadly I couldn't afford it for a few weeks so in the mean time I searched the hair care section in my local Pak n save for something that was affordable but sounded like it would get the job done.

I chose the Sunsilk brilliant shine Shampoo and Conditioner because the packaging was bright pink and looked so cute! Plus it said it would give your hair a natural looking shine which is what I was looking for, I was hoping it would add some life into my hair!

I dampen my hair and squeeze the shampoo into the roots of my hair, it gives you a large amount of lather so a small amount will clean your scalp. My itchy scalp felt clean, and my hair wasn't as much of a tangled mess as it normally would be after I shampoo my hair.

This Shampoo is gentle on my hair and gives it a thorough clean.

I have already repurchased this, I highly recommend this Shampoo, its a great option for those who cant spend a lot on Shampoo.

Addictive shine

This smelled like raspberries when I opened it for a sniff in the store, I try to do a smell check on when purchasing as I don't want to smell like a man.

This is meant to shine hair but I really haven't noticed any real difference on my hair when I have used just the shampoo and not the conditioner with it.

The shampoo does leave my hair clean and slightly soft. The shampoo itself is a pearlescent white colour that is normal thickness, it pools in hand and doesn't show any individual drops or lines. It lathers easily with a $2 coin size amount in your hand, my hair is a little less than 1/2 down my back so this may be too much if you have short hair.

Price wise it is reasonable for what it does and the smell has me rebuying it ready to go.

cleans my hair and smells good

I'm really not fussy when it comes to shampoo. I have two things that I need- for it to lather and clean my hair and for it to smell nice. This shampoo does both of those.

This is super cheap and easily accessible at the supermarket. It comes in an attractive pink bottle and is clearly branded from Sunsilk.

It smells quite sweet and sort of fresh. I find it does a good job of making my hair feel clean, although it does feel slightly drying when I rinse it out. Conditioner fixes that though. I'm currently using it with a different branded conditioner so that could be why I'm not noticing any kind of shine effect from it.

I'm on the fence about re purchasing. I'd like to try out some more expensive products to see if they can help my long, dry hair. If I don't think there's a noticeable difference with more expensive shampoos then I'd probably pick this up again and just use expensive conditioner. If you're after something cheap from the supermarket, then I would say, why not give this a go.

Sunsilks Brilliant shine

I decided to buy this shampoo because the reviews about it are pretty good. I got it a few weeks ago. I dont normally go for sunsilk because the bottles are so small. I couldn't wait to try this out.

This shampoo comes in a vibrant redish pink slender bottle. On this bottle is thd Sunsilk branding. On the back of it is the instructions of how to use it. The texture of this shampoo is white creamy colour. It has a sweet scented smell that has a fresh after smell.

When I apply this to my hair it came out of the bottle very easily. I like to use about a palm ful because my hairs quite thick so I need quite a bit. This bottle lasted me about two weekes with daily use. I'm not completely sold on this product. I didn't notice any major results. My hair did feel clean though.

Shine Bright Like a Diamond

This is easily my favourite reasonably-priced shampoo.

It smell divine, cleans well and doesn't leave any residue in my hair. My hair is naturally quite shiny, but this gives it an extra boost and is lovely to use. If I colour my hair, I still stick to this "flavour" as I find it doesn't strip the colour as quickly as other types.

Tips: You don't need much product, so it lasts a while. Match with Brilliant Shine conditioner for beautifully soft and shiny locks!

Not fantastic

I was excited to try this as I love to have silky, shiny hair....but it did not really make much of a difference. I certainly did not get the brilliant shine like it said. Perhaps my hair is just too damaged for this particular shampoo as my best friend loves it.

It does have a great scent and lathers up really well but that is as far as it goes for me unfortunately.

I will continue to use up the bottle but would not repurchase. Definately a lot better supermarket shampoos out there that make your hair look great.

Great scent, no shine!

The shampoo comes in a sleek and pretty bright pink bottle. It has an amazing fruity/floral scent and honestly whenever I used this I had so many compliments on how good my hair smelt. This however, was the only thing this really delivered on. It was a decent shampoo and it left my hair feeling clean and soft, but it did not deliver its promises. My hair was no shinier or softer than normal from using this shampoo. The shampoo also has a very runny consistency so it is easy to spill or waste when showering. However, this was very affordable and it's hard to complain for that price. Overall, I would rather use other shampoo's in the Sunsilk range than this one.

Cheap, cheerful, effective!

The teeny price tag on this actually hides the fact that there is a very good shampoo (and conditioner, for that matter) hiding inside these bright pink plastic bottles.

This is my budget preference. I have a fave shampoo that's more expensive (from Lush) but if I need a cheap or quick option I often come back to this.

The white shampoo is mid thickness, and has a faint berry scent. It cleans well - perhaps slightly drying in comparison to the Lush, but certainly nothing dramatic. Hair is left nice - soft and clean - and if you follow with the matching conditioner then on a budget, I'd have no complaints.

Not all shampoos from Sunsilk are created equal, but I think this range is one of their best.

Tips: I get travel sizes of this range regularly from Postie Plus. They work out more expensive than the big ones but they're convenient.

Dry scalp alert!

Whilst it did leave my hair with a shine, after repeated use I had dry and itchy scalp and had to use an anti dandruff shampoo for a while to get my scalp back to a healthy condition. I figured it may have been a number of factors so put it to the side for a while and when I ran out of another shampoo/conditioner I returned to the Sunsilk and lone behold, a few days in and my head was super itchy with dry scalp again. I do sometimes have sensitive skin and have been known to use many colours and dyes but it's not something I expect from my hair cleaning products. To me it isn't worth the slight shine. Not for me this product although it did smell nice!

Limp, weak hair with new formula

I'm one of those people who has a lot of trouble finding a good shampoo/conditioner that works well on their hair without irritating their scalp. My hair is dry, especially at the ends, with an oily scalp and I generally get frizz around the sides and back of my hair above my ears.

I used to use this shampoo and conditioner off and on during the cooler months as it gave me moisturized shiny hair with body, less frizz, and few side effects. Unfortunately, the new formula leaves me with limp, weak hair with flyaway ends and leaves a strange coating on my scalp and roots which I think may be from the glycerin. The new formula gave me some slight shine, but it just looked like naturally healthy limp hair instead of the incredible moisturized shine and body I used to get from the old formula. It also made my hair oilier. I noticed my hair needing to be washed again within 12 hours in addition to making my scalp incredibly itchy once my scalp got oily. I think the itching may have been caused by the intense fragrance in this product. I won't repurchase this, and I think after the reformulation I'd seriously second-guess buying any of the Sunsilk formulas now.

Tips: If you have dry, frizzy hair, try something else like Garnier Fructis Nutri-Repair 3 or Tresemme Salon Silk No Frizz instead.
