Sunsilk Refresh Hydration Shampoo Review

Far from being a good shampoo. It did not do anything for my hair that it should've and instead left me with a dry, tangled mess and a itchy scalp. Also didn't smell very pleasant either.

I bought this well I was on holiday, as I forgot to bring my usual hair products. This caught my eye because I was on sale and was a small bottle so if I didn't like it, there wouldn't be much wastage. I have quite dry hair and as I was in Rotorua at the time I was doing a lot of swimming in thermal pools I needed a hydrating shampoo and conditioner as the water usually drys my hair out. This product was not really what I was expecting at all. First impressions were that it had a nice refreshing, almost minty scent, but didn't lather very well. Once rinsed my hair was very dry and tangled and didn't feel moisturised at all. After using a few times, I still was getting the same results although it was lathering slightly better. Pros: Cheap and effective packaging Has nice refreshing scent I do believe it helped with my dry scalp

I think not, I spotted this at a quick visit to the supermarket on special for $2.50 a bottle. The baby blue caught my attention as did the hydration claim. It smelt fresh and clean. As my hair was feeling dry from to much hair dying, I thought this would be perfect for my poor hair. Very easy to apply to the hair, and to wash out the lather. But thats where the good points end. As soon as I towel dried my hair I noticed my hair felt stringy, once dried naturally it felt brittle and even more dry. Once brushed I noticed more hair coming out on the brush. dissapointed

The first time I washed my hair with this, I thought it was great. It left my hair pretty soft and shiny, and it smells really good. But after using it for about a week, my hair has this permanent greasy feel to it, even after i used a clarifying shampoo. My bangs were greasy after i got out of the shower (?!) So... I guess it's good in the short term and sucks in the long term. It was really cheap though - so not a big loss. :P

Sunsilk have some great shampoos but for me, this isn't one of them.

When something is meant to be 'refreshing hydration' you don't expect a clear, virtually odourless gel that dries out hair a little and neither refreshes nor hydrates. Unfortunately this is completely not what it is sold as. It's not terrible - the dirt cheap price point, cute powder blue packaging and the fact that it does clean hair mean that it scrapes in at 2/5 but I wouldn't repurchase and will stick to my faves from their range.

If your hair is in better condition than my dyed hair it might be okay, but washing my hair every day with this isn't good.

I really liked the combo of this shampoo and its sister conditioner. My hair was invigorated and silky smooth, hydrated without being oily. I always am looking for the balance of hydrated hair while not being oil, so that my skin doesn't break out. This shampoo really did the job well removing any bad oils and grime from my scalp and my skin looked better for it.

the consistency of this shampoo is a very runny clear gel ,so you'd better be careful when you pour the product , but its very foaming so you dont need to use too much every time ,the smell is very natural and fresh but very calming , i can feel its soothing the scalp , hair feel more stronger and healthier after use

It seems like all my beauty purchases seem to be happening at the supermarket lately. Although when there are such good specials I don't mind. I picked up this and the matching conditioner on a 2 for $7 special. I was going for something else but a special like that I couldn't walk past. I was attracted by the light blue packaging of this, it looks very pretty and is the same shade as my bathroom! It does annoy me though that the shampoo bottle has a slanted top. It is fine for when you have plenty of product but when you are running out it is hard to find a spot to keep it upside down.

This shampoo is clear which is very strange when you first use it. I absolutely love the scent, it is lemony and minty and extra fresh. I usually shower at night but I imagine if you use this in the morning it would wake you right up. A small amount lathers up really well which is great. Once you wash this out my hair felt super super squeaky clean. I think if you used a lot of product this would be great for getting it all out. I was surprised given it is supposed to be a hydrating range. Usually I shampoo everyday but then only condition every couple of days but with this I felt like I needed to condition everyday. However I loved the effect of these both together, my hair did feel nice and hydrated.

I love the scent of this shampoo and its effect when teamed with the conditioner. Although by itself it doesn't live up to its hydrating claims it does a fantastic job of cleaning your hair.

This is my go to Supermarket Shampoo. It's so fresh & cleansing & smells as much too. It leaves my hair clean without stripping too much out of it and my scalp feeling cleansed. I do find after using it for a few weeks though that my hair gets a little frizzier so I mix it up with better brands. It comes in a typical Sunsilk bottle. Easy to hold, store & open. The colour of their bottles are unique to the type so easy to identify on the shelf & pair up with the Buddy Conditioner.
