Originally I thought spending $38.00 for a sponge was a wee bit ridiculous.. However, when contouring my face.. This really made everything so much easier. When purchasing I had no idea of how to use it let alone use it properly but after getting the hang of it I found the sponge to quite essential to my everyday makeup routine. It was easy to use and fit well in my hands, also found it quite easy to clean.. I love this product and find it well worth the money I spent on it.

Don't get me wrong, I have nothing against the Beauty Blender. It did it's job, it blended my makeup nicely and to be fair I did not have any patchy areas or look like I had cake-face. The thing is, I get the exact same result with any other sponge that I use; the BB didn't stand out to me at all in terms of function. So yes, it works well, but so does my Real Techniques sponge and my Klean Kolor sponge.
Tips: Use damp, wring it out really well before using on your face or you'll end up just wiping your foundation/concealer straight off.
So after a bajillion years I decided to grab myself the most expensive sponge I have ever bought in my life! I bought the purple beauty blender from Makeup NZ for $32.00. After using it for 2 months, I’m still not 100% convinced it’s the next best thing since slice bread but I must say that it does have one up on the Real Techniques sponge where it leaves a flawless finish.
When I first received it I was gobsmacked that I had spent so much money on this tiny item so I got right to work to see what the fuss was all about. I washed mine and was thankful when it ballooned to a decent size that I could easily hold. I squeezed out the excess water, dotted my foundation all over my face and bounced the sponge until I was happy with the final result.
It definitely blends out the product beautifully but I found that it does need a bit of effort – it’s not hard it just requires more effort than I’m willing to invest particularly if you start work early in the morning. My favourite thing about this product (which is where the Real Techniques sponge lost brownie points) was that it didn’t leave any patchy streaks behind.
I prefer to use my beauty blender for concealing and highlighting. I like that I can bounce my cream highlighter on my cheekbones and it looks wet, smooth and well blended. It’s now pretty easy for me to conceal thanks to this product and I find that my foundation sits better on the skin. Would I repurchase this again? Sigh – expensive as it is I do believe I would.
A friend bought this back from america for me and before receiving it I had only ever used a brush. I loved it and haven't gone back to a brush for my foundation since. It makes blending foundation so much easier and left my foundation a lot more flawless. The sponge lasted a good amount of time before it started looking worse for wear. I have to say however that I didn't re purchase another beauty blender, athough it was an awesome product I just couldn't justify spending $30 on the sponge - a $8 one does the job just as good
The original beauty blender is still my favourite. Many other versions have seen the light but I have found that the origonal blender works better. It blends effectively without pulling or sticking to your skin. Washes easily as well. A little soapy water is all you need
Great tool for blending out foundation for an even seamless finish. It is worth the money as they last for a long time. It washes up well. I use some soap and water after a few uses about once a week. Would repurchase and recommend to others. It's a must have makeup tool.
Tips: Can use with powder under the eyes to set it more than using a brush works really well.
The Beauty Blender is one of those things I never thought I'd get on board with. I thought it was unnecessary and overpriced... until I got one. I got a free beauty blended with a Kat Von D foundation and man was I impressed. It helps to put foundation on smoothly and without streaks, it buffs the product into your skin with ease and grace. And it is fun to use to boot!. I find the beauty blender a bit annoying for day to day use when I am not really too fussed on how I look, but it is a dream for those days when you have some spare time to make yourself look good. I love that the container also has aeration holes so that your blender can dry without getting dust or other dirt onto it. They are rather expensive so make sure you look after your blender and keep it clean to extend its lifespan!
Tips: Great for dabbing top up makeup onto your nose, and for blotting the skin later in the day without streaking or getting residue everywhere.
I love how this beauty blender came and change the entire face of foudation.
I can not imagine applying my foundation without my beauty blender it smooths it out and make it look flawless. Its a must jave to any beauty collection
I think these are awesome! I first bought one years ago and I bought another a few months back. They apply makeup beautifully, are easy to use and make blending makeup quick and easy. You can use them to apply and blend out lots of different products.
However they are so expensive! You can buy similar sponges for so much cheaper, that work almost the same. I do think they work better than lots of other cheaper brands and are definitely one of the best sponges I've tried (my favourite being the Real Techniques sponge), but I don't think it's enough for me to justify the price.
i am so in love with my beauty blender,i wet it and squeeze the excess water out each morning to apply my primer then foundation, the dabbing up and down with it on my skin gives me a flawless finish.i use it instead of my flat top kabuki brush,i also use it when applying my concealer as the point on the beauty blender is great for under the eye area.you can also use it to apply setting powder,i love my beauty blender, you won;t be dissappointed
