Thierry Mugler Alien

So I can only say good things about this perfume. Sure it is expensive as the biggest size is around $200 but it is well worth it considering you can get it refilled for half the price which many people still do not know. I love the packaging because it reminds me of space and aliens (hence the name) and the smell is just amazing. I've always had people telling me I smell good when I wear it and it stays on for literally days and still holds the smell. I've had many perfumes Gucci flora, flower bomb and juicy couture etc.. But never has the smell stayed so strong on my clothes or body.

This perfume just works on me for some reason. I get a thousand compliments daily and have had dates ask me to spray their clothes so they can take me home... (Slightly creepy but still a compliment!) a very unique smell that definitely catches attention. It has a great 'waft' factor as you walk by. This scent is sexy as hell and I feel like a goddess daily!

"You smell great, what perfume is that?" That my friend is Alien. Although often challenging to come by in stores - totally worth the hunt to find. Everyone's skin produces it's own natural oils and scent, therefore perfumes will often smell slightly different from person to person. I definitely hit the jackpot when I discovered Alien. I said the exact above words to a friend one day and had to get my hands on a bottle straight away. I've never gone without it since. I originally purchased a bottle from The Warehouse perfume counter, however they no longer sell it. When I ran out of my first bottle, I went to two different Farmers stores only to leave deflated as they didn't have it either. I resorted to purchasing it online through strawberrynet. Shop around as prices vary quite significantly from retailer to retailer, but caution to the wind when buying perfume online - make sure it's a trust worthy company so the product is authentic, as well as not damaged i.e exposed to sunlight and incorrectly stored. During the very brief time that I had to wait to receive my bottle in the post, I pined even more so for my Alien when I got in my car daily. The scent is so strong, as in resilient, that I could smell it on my seat belt strap where it had rubbed near my neck - it was heavenly! At least weekly I get the opportunity to bless another soul with the beauty that is Alien when they ask me what perfume I'm wearing. Alien makes me feel womanly, sexy and bold whenever I'm wearing it. My husband loves it too, which is a win for me at Christmas or birthdays! I prefer to buy the 30ml bottle as opposed to the refillable 60ml or 90ml options for two reasons, one I'm not brave enough to attempt to refill the bottle myself and two because I'd prefer to have a fresh batch more regularly to avoid any sunlight damage. I very rarely wear any other perfume now, Alien is definitely what I'd consider to be my signature scent, and hey, what girl doesn't love being told she smells great?! Hands down 100/100 Hoping to try the Alien body lotion one day soon too, but hubby hasn't got the hint yet!

This was my first higher end purfume and I fell in love with it the first time I smelt it. Absolutely love this scent and always get compliments. The only reason I knew about this was because I smelt it on someone else and asked what she was wearing. Loved it ever since! Stays on all day and I can still smell it on myself by the end of the day. The bottle is odd in my opinion but it looks good with my collection. Super convenient bottle and easy to spray!

I blind bought this untested as I am a fan of Thierry Mugler's Angel, and had high hopes for anything from Thierry Mugler. I can't say I am huge fan of this though.

The most dominant note in Alien is an overpowering jasmine. It's difficult to tell what natural jasmine smells like, having never smelt the actual flower, though there is something very synthetic about this scent. It almost smells like a cheap scent you would purchase for $20 at a pharmacy.

Alien is a very strong perfume, so you have to use it sparingly to avoid giving yourself a headache.

The bottle itself is very original and looks like a work of art. That alone is the only reason I have held on to my bottle of this and not given it away.

Not the best Angel perfume that Mugler has produced, was really disappointed with it. The smell kinda went a bit off after awhile, the original Angel is still the best.

I will give credence to the negative reviews that Alien has received. Alien is certainly a different scent, it is not for everybody, but if it's for you then you have an obsession for life!

So what's in a name? Perfumes are famously named some romantic/sexual/ooey-gooey mash up to make the buyer relate. "Eternity" or "Euphoria" engage our imaginations to have that beautiful glass bottle bring us our every "Desire." What I love about Thierry Mugler is his dedication to denotative perfume names... "A*men", "Womanity", and Alien is no different in that sense; but different in every other!

This perfume does have strong Jasmine notes, but for me its the woody notes that really come out. It is the longest lasting perfume I have, and I constantly have customers comment on it in the afternoon (8 hours after I put it on!)

So, if you are a different kind of girl (or boy), and do not want to smell like "a fragrance" then I suggest to give it a try (and really do try it first).

I have a feeling people seem to think that Alien is from the same range as Angel and that's where they go so wrong.. Their expectations are automatically disappointed and they disregard this fragrance without a fair chance.. The only thing in common is the Fragrance House.. Thierry Mugler! To be honest, I know its not going to be for everyone but if you like very rich, unique scents then you should have an open mind about this one. This fragrance is very unique, there isn't another like it out there and the stayability is amazing.. And despite the fact its strong its actually incredibly easy to wear. I personally am a huge fan of unique fragrances as I cannot stand fad fragrances. If you were to compare Alien to Angel.. Alien is for the individual that doesn't like to blend in with the crowd.. Angel is a very 'safe' fragrance.

I absolutely love this fragrance!! I have had so many people comment on how good I smell and asking me what it is. Also love the fact you can get the refillable bottle, which makes it a lot cheaper when you run out and need more! I will definitely keep using this perfume for a long time!
