After lusting over the chocolate bar palette for ever, my friend brought me this for xmas as a way to try the chocolate palette without having to actually buy it. It was an awesome idea, and i was so excited to get this as a Christmas present. Honestly, at first i did not even want to use this palette, it was so pretty and i had no idea what to do with it, but after the reviews i knew this was going to be a keeper.
Firstly, the packaging this comes in is so sweet tin which is pink and colour and sweet. When you open the palette you get a whift of sweet chocolate. Yum. The pans are set with a gold glittery border, and it is just picture perfect.
The eyeshadow colour your get are the basics. One shimmer, and two mattes, but this combo can be used to create either a day time or night time look as well as something in between so great options and plus they smell like chocolate. Oh i should also mention the shadow are creamy and pigmented, with no fall out what so ever so i am really impressed by that.
The bronzer, i have to admit i do not use it that much. I have a deeper skintone, and so this product only creates a really subtle shadow on me. It is still really nice, and i do use it but only occasionally. As for the snow bunny bronzer.. drool! Its lovely, it adds a glow to your face and works well with all colours of blushes. Seriously, a must have for any too faced lover.
Lastly, the lip gloss. This was quite exciting to have the chance to try this before it was released to the public, but in reality its just a pink lip gloss. It gives you lips a healthy look but its nothing too exciting.
Overall, a lovely stater palette and it is something i would buy for friends and family who are just getting into makeup. However, if someone is already a fan of too faced, chances is they already have most of this stuff is one form or another.
This gem of a palette was my very first too faced product and the very thing that sparked my too faced obsession.
It has 3 eyeshadows from the very famous chocolate bar palette, 2 bronzers (chocolate soleil and the snow bunny bronzer) and a lipgloss.
Now I'm not usually a fan of lipgloss. I actually cannot stand them. They're messy, sticky and just plain awful. But this is not your typical lipgloss. It's called naked dolly and it's the most beautiful 'your lips but better' gloss. There's a subtle shine to it, but nothing overly shiny like your usual lipgloss. It's not sticky and it actually feels nice on your lips unlike most other lipglosses. It has a barely there type formula so it's bot going to annoy you throughout the day.
The 3 eyeshadows are white chocolate, creme brulee and haute chocolate. My favourite is definitely creme brulee. It's a stunning shimmery gold colour (I'm currently obsessed with gold shimmer shadows at the moment so this is right up my alley). As is the haute chocolate shade. It looks really dark in the palette but on the skin it's a lot lighter and it is absolutely beautiful. White chocolate is the one that I don't use. I'm not 100% sure how I'd use a white matte shade so unforunately that shade stays untouched. They're very pigmented and really easy to blend.
My favourite bronzer is definitely the chocolate soleil one. It's a matte finish and I find it looks better on the skin. the pigmentation is great, it's not too heavy on the face and the colour is absolutely stunning. The snowbunny bronzer on the other hand is really shimmery and I don't like to use it as a bronzer. Because of how shimmery it is, I find it works best as a subtle highlight or as an eyeshadow. All four colours mixed together make the most beautiful shade, and because I'm into my shimmer shadows, for me it would make a better eyeshadow than a bronzer.
This is the perfect palette to try out if you're not 100% sold on too faced products. It has a lovely mix of things to try before you buy so to speak and it's all there in one convenient palette.
