I have repurchased this multiple time, nothing does it quite like this one. It lengthens and thickens my lashes, and makes them nice and dark. I have naturally long lashes, however they're blonde, so I like to use mascara to darken and thicken them and this does amazing. sometimes it can go on thicker than I like, but I just use a empty mascara wand to comb through them, this only happens if there is too much product on the wand.

I never thought that I would one day replace my dear Rimmel mascara that I have repurchased over and over again for the past 6 years but Too Faced Better Than Sex mascara deserves that top spot now. It curls and separates my lashes, gives them volume and (what appears to me) extended length. What I love the most is the product makes my lashes look full and dramatic with very little effort required.
Even though I’m not a fan of pink the packaging is cute and simple. At first I was a little sceptical at the sheer size of the hour-glass shaped wand as well as just how much product was on it when I pulled it out. I didn’t think I would be able to achieve much, other than a big mess all over my lids but I cannot express just how amazed I am with this product.
When I apply my layers I do get some spots of mascara on my lids but that’s mainly because of how much it extends my lashes that it hits my lids so I can’t really complain about that. I’ve had no negative reactions to the product and no issues with flaking or any smudging throughout the day. In terms of removal it comes off very easily when I use my holy grail eye makeup remover (Neutrogena). I’m not too sure I could say the same if I use a makeup wipe or any other eye makeup remover.
I’ve had so many compliments on my lashes I can’t believe it and I didn’t even need to invest in a lengthening serum! I bought mine from the Too Faced website and sent it to my Shipito address. The price largely depends on the currency exchange going at the time of purchase and mine was approximately NZD$30 which to me is worth every cent because this is the only mascara that has finally ticked all the boxes.
My annoyance would have to lie with the accessibility to the product and that it’s only available overseas so unlike other popular mascara brands you can't just walk into a store and purchase it when you feel/want/need it.
Tips: I apply 2-3 layers and twirl the wand from base to tip. For more volume (and less clumps) I use a different mascara on top of it that has thin straight or slightly curve wand (i.e. Benefit Roller Lash).
Where to start. It lengthens. It volumises. It doesn't flake. I've never had a clump.
This is THE mascara for big, dramatic lashes. You don't need to wear false lashes with this mascara in your toolbox. I find three coats ideal if you're really wanting drama, or just one coat for a little definition. This isn't waterproof, but it isn't easy to get off either. It is a slightly wet formula, but not to the extreme of some Maybelline formulations.
Not sure that I'd believe the 1944% more volume claim on the box, but you certainly get a stunning look.
The brush is cute - its hourglass shaped and makes it really easy to get a nice application. The brush is also weighted, which makes handling the mascara feel really quite something else because it gives you more control.
Tips: Three coats and skip the false lashes!
I jumped on the bandwagon once again! Everyone was talking about how amazing this mascara is so, what's a girl to do? Buy that mascara and try it for herself of course!!
I need a slap on the hand I hate to admit this, I have 5 opened mascaras on the go but a couple are destined for the bin after using this.
I love the pink cylinder packaging it comes in, it's like metal/aluminium and quite heavy. I unscrew the lid and out comes the wand and argh I'm feeling slightly daunted by the hourglass wand its unlike anything I've used before and I'm standing there looking at it, then looking at my eyelashes and thinking really??
So I carefully apply the first coat and ooooh my lashes look a little fuller and longer, second coat and wow impressive a good curl going on and third coat and Im thinking hey those aren't mine no way! Seriously? They are full with great length and just look amazing. I love this mascara so much because first of all no clumps and secondly it makes your eyelashes look completely natural like you were just genetically blessed with luscious lashes!
Also wearing 3 coats I thought I was bound to get flaking but yip you guessed it.. None, no flaking no rub off nothing! Yes it seriously is some kind of magic.
Then it got me thinking it stays on for hours and hours I bet it's going to take some scrubbing to remove it. But nope just my usual Clarins or Maybelline makeup remover and done (back to naked eye for me!) I love love love this and need back ups! Thank goodness for overseas shopping we have nowadays!
Too faced better than Sex Mascara. This product has a lot of hype around it and I had heard so much about this product, both good and bad. However the majority of things I had heard about it were good and so I had to buy it because what sort of beauty addict would I be if I didn't.
It comes in a beautiful pink tube, which almost has a frosted pink metallic finish. The tube is cool to touch, and is quite heavy as well so it feels expensive which is nice because this mascara is not cheap costing around $20 USD dollars.
The mascara brush is really large, and is actually a bristle brush which I love because these are getting harder and harder to find (or maybe it is just me). The mascara brush is quite bulky which makes it awkward to get close to your eye, but still I had high hopes for this product.
The formula seemed nice at first; it is jet black which is perfect because that’s the only colour I wear. However, the formula is really wet, and I mean really wet which can work really well with some products, but it does not work well with this one.
Seriously, doing one coat of this mascara leaves my lashes clumpy and looking terrible. It does add length, and a bit of volume but the clumps are something I cannot look past. Seriously, I was so disappointed with this product, and put this review off for the longest time just in case I managed to love it. I have to say that now the formula has gotten a bit drier, I do like the mascara a little more, but certainly not enough to pay big dollars for it.
I was really excited to try this and absolutely loved the packaging and the tube it comes in, however, that's where my love for it faded.
I had to remove a lot of product before application, I did love the brush design and have since purchased a mascara with a similar brush.
The initial reaction was great, rich black colour and elevated my eyelashes nicely, however, over the course of the day it constantly flaked causing irritation to my eyes.
I was extremely disappointed and while I tried to use as much of the mascara as I could, it had to be in short bursts to avoid the flakiness.
I'm sad to say I can't recommend this product but may try it again one day (just in case it was a dud batch).
