Too faced melted metals lipstick

I personally love too faced and their products. I was looking for a new lipsticks and I came across these because I was looking for something little I could keep in my handbag. I love the formula and the lipstick stays on all day. the packaging is gorgeous as well. too faced products are more high end and expensive but it is worth it for how good the products are and their shelf life.

AMAZING colour!

My boyfriend picked Metallic Jelly for me from Mecca Maxima when he went to Australia recently. So prior to receiving it I had no idea what the colour would look like on my skin, and had no idea how good the product was besides the reviews that I had read online.

The packaging that the lipstick comes in is so pretty. The colour of the tube pretty much accurately reflects the colour of the product inside it.

What I love most is the sponge applicator at the top as it allows you to control how much product comes out and you can easily spread the product around your lips. Because the formula is so so so pigmented its a good idea to start with small amounts and build up to avoid any mistakes! The product is also super long wearing and it remained put on my lips after a whole night (including after eating!)

There isn't really a scent with the product which I like, as heavily scented products give me a headache sometimes. The only downside to the lipsticks are that they can look a bit streaky if you dont apply the product properly, but with more layers it should be fine!

Melted Metal - Dream House!

I am a huge fan of the regular Too Faced Melted lipsticks, so when this new range came out, I was very curious to try it, yet hesitant. These are marketed as the more metallic versions of the original lipsticks. Since, I am not a fan of shimmery and glittery lipsticks in general, I tried a deluxe sample which came as a part of "Melt your heart out" set. The set contained a full sized Regular Melted lipstick in Melted Peony and a deluxe sample of Melted Metal in the shade Dream House.

Dream House is an electric bright hot pink with silver shimmer in it. It totally pops and the metallic finish lends itself well with the shade. Though it does contain very fine specks of shimmer, they are not noticeable individually on the lips. It just gives a 3D sheen when the lips catch the light. I found that the lipstick didn't really dry down and settle into a very velvety smooth matte finish, like the regular Too Faced lipstick. I could easily wipe and remove them. These are definitely not the kind of lipsticks that you would expect to last through a meal. But Too Faced never advertised these lipsticks to be long lasting, so do expect it to re-apply throughout the day.

These lipsticks come in the exact same packaging like the regular Melted lipsticks. The outer color of the tube reflects the shade of the lipstick inside. It comes in a squeeze tube with a slanted dispenser on the top. The pigmentation is good. The lipstick color turns opaque after two swipes. It does not bleed or accentuate into fine lines. Also, they don't feel heavy on lips. However, if you compare them with the regular "Too Faced" lipsticks, the regular ones are better than these metallic ones.

I think the formula of the lipsticks is very different than the other shimmery lipsticks out there. If You are someone who hasn't had a good experience with shimmery lipsticks, you can definitely try this range.

Don't get too jelly!

After experience the original melted lipstick from too faced, and loving them, i knew i had to try this range when it was released.

The colour i got was Jelly, and it comes in a soft squeeze tube just like the original. It has purple packaging, and a gold twist off lid. My favorite thing about the design is the applicator, which is a sponge tip on a slight slant which lets you apply with precision.

The formula of this lipstick is really lovely and pigmented. It glides over lips, and provide amazing colour, aswell as a unique finish which looks slightly metallic, or a slight duo-chrome finish. Its really unqiue, and will make your lips stand out from the crowd.

Now although I just love this colour, the finish is not for me. It doesn't really suit me, and the chrome type finish just makes my looks feel dated. But that's just a personal option. I also don't really like the texture of this on my lips. Like i said it does glide on smoothly, but when i press my lips together, its feel slightly.. not grainy.. but textured and i do not like that feeling.

Overall, i won't be repurchasing this, but if this is a finish you like this would be the perfect product for you.

For me I was a little let down

I had huge hopes for the Metallic range of Too Faced Melted lipsticks after loving their normal range but it fell a little flat for me.

They come packaged in the same manner as the original versions with the addition of the word metallic on the front of the product name. You just can't fault Too Faced packaging though, it is one of the things they are best for, with the exterior rigid but squeezable plastic tube being the same colour as the lipstick contained, and the shiny lid. Even the applicator is one of a kind, it has a soft cotton type doe applicator that when you squeeze the creamy but thick liquid lipstick up into, comes through little holes and spreads out to make the application easy and seamless.

My problem with it is that the metal shades are just too 80's if you know what I mean, I looked back at myself and thought I should be rocking a vivid pink shell suit with my curly hair in a side pony tail secured with a scrunchie! I purchased Melted Violet and Melted Jelly, both are a purple pink tone with Jelly being slight more on the mauve shade. If you like the old style pearl shimmer type of lipsticks then you will love these Melted metal liquid lipsticks!

Formula wise though they were easy to apply, didn't move around too much, never bleed and settled down on the lips nicely. Lasting a few hours before needing a top up.

Pretty colours

I feel like liquid lipsticks are meant to have a longer lasting power than regular lipsticks. These slide off my lips so maybe i'm using them wrong or something. But the colours are very pigmented and I like the smell.

Too Faced Melted Metals liquid lipstick

I bought a bright pink one in Australia two years ago, and the formula went on really nicely, but wore off really badly. I didn't like how patchy it wore off, and the lipstick was not long lasting at all. i was given a sample sized bronze colour from my sister also, and this also wore off badly. In the end didn't finish either tube and threw them both in the bin.
