Chikoboo was having a clear out of her make up and I made a descision to purchase this. Too faced is so hard to find here in New Zealand. So I took this opportunity to try this out. So far I have two items in my make up collection from this brand. I would love to collect more as I'm enjoying what I have at the moment. I never really purchase bronzers much. This is my first pressed powder bronzer that I have.
This bronzer come in a sleek black heart shaped compact. Engraved in it is this Too Faced branding. This style is sweet but luxurious. I was surprised at the size of this compact. Its much bigger than any of my singular bronzers, highlighters and blushes put together. When I opened this I find this rich bronze pressed powder swirled into a beautiful heart. Central in this heart is a small shaped heart that has a peachy glow. This scent smells like sweet chocolate.
When I used this I use my angled contour brush, I lightly bronze my cheek bones and work my way around my face. This bronzer gives my face definition and a warm gentle glow. Secondly I get my blush brush and sweep my cheeks lighly as this is pigmented giving my cheeks a warm gentle blush. Lastly I set this with setting spray. I tried without spray and it still lasted me all day.
After trying this bronzer I would now like to try more bronzers from the Too Faced range. This pricing is fair because you are getting great packaging and a pigmented product. This bronzer has a long life and I see it lasting a long time because its generously sized. Definitely would buy it again if it runs out.
I originally purchased the Ross & Rachel version of the Soul Mates Blusher Bronzer, simply because I couldn't find this Carrie & Big one. The Ross & Rachel version is pretty and the blusher is what I use the most as the bronzer is too dark. This Carrie & Big version is perfect from the peach blush to soft matte bronzer.
Packaging as always with Too Faced products is adorable with a capital A! This heart shaped black highly shiny plastic compact is quite a size and is hard to hold in one hand comfortably. Inside there lies a mirror on the reverse of the lid and the heart shaped, swirled pattern bronzer with the smaller heart of peach blusher inside the larger heart with the initals TF imprinted for Too Faced. Another statement thing about Too Faced products is the scent, this like so many other pieces I own is heavily fragranced with cocoa for that chocolate aroma that makes you smile as you use it, but also leaves you with an all day craving for a sugar fix!
Formula wise these powders are far from chalky with their creamy powdered texture that from just the slightest touch of a finger leaves a highly pigmented mark. Useable in 3 ways, as just a bronzer for soft contouring, this matte brown is more on the lighter scale of the bronze hues, no orange shades and no shimmer effect, also this doesn't look murky or muddy on porcelain skin tones such as mine which is the main reason I don't normally wear bronzers as they look too obvious. Just as a blush, the small little peach heart inside is a great shade on the skin, being blendable means you can dab onto the apples of your cheek with a little and then swipe out to blend and mute down to a more soft fresh look, however the pigment is very good on this and should you want a more vibrant effect this creamy formula allows you to build up the colour without looking patchy! Lastly you can use as one product, by swirling a large fluffy brush through both the bronzer and blush you get a great soft colour that works well as a blush glow along the contouring lines of your face without looking overly done.
I keep my Too Faced Soul Mates Blusher Bronzers in their original outer packaging as for one they are quite hard to stack with my other round blush/bronzer compacts due to their size and love heart shape so keeping them in a box is more tidy, and also the boxes are super cute in themselves with the colour of each blush on the edges so you know which you are grabbing straight away.
