Trilogy Clarifying and Mattifying Trial Team

Consisting of the Clarifying gel cleanser, hempoil balancing oil and mattifying moisture lotion this is the dream team. The cleanser is lightly scented but hard to define the scent. It’s non drying and one pump from the brown bottle is perfect for face and neck so the bottle will last a while. The oil bottle seems small but 2 or 3 drops of this slightly citrus scented oil is more than enough to nourish, its a nice light oil and doesn’t leave a film or oily residue like I feel a lot of oils do, it seems to really be helping my skin texture. Not sure if it’s balancing as such yet but I haven’t been using it long enough to decide just yet. The star for me is the moisture lotion which is light and refreshing feeling but still feels like my skin is getting moisture. It really is mattifying and keeps my face non shiny for most of the day without feeling like my face has a weird coating of something over it like I have found most so called mattifying moisturiser seems to while still not feeling moisturised. It feels properly moisturised but not tacky or heavy. I will definitely purchase all these Trilogy products again!

I really enjoyed this trio from Trilogy. The products all have that lovely Trilogy look, and the glass bottles for the cleanser and oil are nice, heavy and quality.

My favourite product is the cleanser - it is thick and 1 pump is plenty for the face and neck. It feels instantly clarifying - as I used it on my oil prone chin I could feel the change in skin texture immediately, its really cleansing and refreshing.

Next I really enjoyed the moisturiser - it really did seem to keep oil at bay and leave a healthy glow to the skin.

The oil was ok - I found it a bit greasy to apply and not as hydrating as I'd like, but it did make my skin feel smoother (that'll be the salicylic acid).

All up - a brilliant regime to try if you have combo skin and an oily t-zone like yours truly.

Trilogy, once again, has produced a stellar skin regime. Quite different from all their other products, but like the new Trilogy Treatment range, this range is really kicking the Trilogy Skin Care regimes up another gear!

The entire range not only smells heavenly, but its calming and balancing ingredients made immediate improvements to my skin.

Lets go back to the scent however... I don't tend to get excited about the scent of skin care, but the moment I tried the clarifying cleansing gel, I was reminded of delicious smell of Mojito's while on holiday.

The of all these products is refreshing, with a hint of lemon. It's not over powering, and really does enhance the experience of using these products. I've never found myself raving about the scent of products, but here I am.

The range I trialled was the Clarifiying Cleansing Gel, Hemphip Balancing Oil and the Mattifying Moisturising Lotion. All have varying hints of the beautiful Mojito/Lemon scent.

At the time of the trial I had a hormonal breakout on my face, around my nose and chin, so very timely to put these products to the test. These products, used together, very quickly calmed the breakout taking the angry/redness right down overnight, and also quickened the healing process. After it cleared, I haven't had another breakout since.

The cleanser is well balanced - it's very gentle, while effective, and left my skin feeling great. The oil is dreamy. A couple of drops patted onto skin and I felt my skin had a lovely bright glow. The moisturiser, so so lovely. Very light, beautiful fragrance, and while it says mattifying, it's not a dull matte finish, but rather dials down that 'shine' you often get with moisturisers. The trio, perfectly compliment each other, and are an amazing range. I've been a Rosehip and Age Proof fan, for a very long time, and generally have stuck to those oils too, however I love the Hemphip balancing oil and how amazing it is at calming and balancing my skin, giving it a fabulous glow, that I'd find it hard to go back to the other Trilogy ranges.

These products are beautiful in every way. If you have combination or oily skin, or just the hormonal breakouts like me, then these products are a perfect match for you. You won't be disappointed.

Love , love , love the cleanser! Even though I have crazy oily skin I struggle to find a cleanser that doesn’t suck the life out of my skin for oily skin. This cleanser will not dry you out!

The moisturiser is so beautiful! Still hydrated and glowing. Smells good too!

And lastly the Hemphip facial oil, great stuff I’m a huge oil lover , amazing products , well worth the price ! Treat yourself with this range you won’t regret it!

I had the luxury of trialing Trilogy Clarifying Cleansing Gel($39) Hemphip Balancing Oil ($28) and the Mattifying Moisturising Lotion and as Trilogy is a personal favourite of mine was VERY happy. I found the cleansing gel was very gentle and although it didn't foam up as a lot of gel cleansers do, it left my skin feeling well cleansed but not stripped of its natural oils which I believe is important. You only need a small amount for it to do its magic. It has a pleasant fragrance and I could definitely smell the mint aroma coming through. After cleansing, I applied the 2-3 drops of the hemp oil using the convenient dropper applicator that it comes with. It had lovely notes of lemon popping through and left my skin feeling nourished but not oily as it absorbs very well into freshly cleansed skin. A little really does go a long way. Next I used the mattifying moisturising lotion which I felt was a bit thicker than the lotions I have used it the past but I do prefer that to a thinner lotion. It glides well onto cleansed skin and you don't need a huge amount which is good as at $49 for 50ml, it is a little pricey but as it doesn't have an spf in it, I would tend to use only in the evenings. It also doesn't have an overpowering fragrance and is very pleasant to use and doesn't leave you with a shiny face. My skin felt lovely after using daily for just over a week and did look much healthier for it.

I was pleasantly surprised with this new trio by Trilogy. I have suffered from hormonal acne for many years, so I have tested my fair share of skincare products.

I use the cleanser after i have removed my makeup, to ensure I am getting the most out of the witch hazel, salicylic acid and rosehip. Its refreshing on the skin, comes in a handy pump bottle which looks great in the shower or vanity top. I then apply the hemphip balancing oil which is a lightweight oil blend that feels lovely and hydrating. It ferls similar to the famous trilogy rosehip oil, without the heavy greasy feeling.

And lastly i apply the mattifying moisturising lotion. It really does help to reduce shine, all day long.

Overall excellent mix of ingredients in these products. I wish i had found them sooner in my 30's!

This Skincare Trio is a great skincare routine for anyone with Oily or Combination Skintypes.

This system is made up of a Clairifying Cleansing Gel, Hemphip Balancing Oil and a Mattifying Moisturising Lotion.

The gel cleanser is a foaming wash which gently removes surface oil and debris from the skin, salicyclic acid rebalances the complexion and leaves skin feeling refreshed and cleaned. Skin is brightened and clarified after use. The gel is contained in a beautiful glass bottle with a pump so the right amount is distributed in a single pump.

The second product in the system is the Hemphip Balancing Oil which is a dry oil type product. Its readily absorbed into the skin, nourishing and rebalancing the skins surface. It delivers enough hydration without any oily residue. It contains rosehip, grape, olive, jojoba oils and cannabis sativa seed oil. These oils work in synergy to keep the complexion clear and smooth. The smell is devine. The bottle is equiped with its own dropper so you can easily dispense the right amount for your skins needs - from 2-5 drops applied all over face and neck perfect hydration.

The final product in this regime is the Mattifying Moisturising Lotion. This product is lightweight and helps replenish water and oil in the skin. It contains aloe vera juice, rosehip oil and witch hazel, combined with lemon myrtle for a delicate yet fresh fragrance. The skin is plumped and smooth after use, skin is softened and hydrated. This product is great for keeping shine at bay, my oily skin stays matte all day on application, perfect for under makeup. The tube is easy to quse squeezy tube, so no dipping in fingers and very portable. The more I use it the more balanced my skin is. I typically suffer from hormonal acne however so far my complexion is pretty even and clear.

This trial regime was supplied as three products: Clarifying Cleansing Gel, Hemphip Balancing Oil & Mattifying Moisturising Lotion. According to the information on the products - Trilogy supports ethical trade practices, is against animal testing & products are non GMO, which is a great start. This range is best for combination or oily skin. I personally do not have oily skin overall but definitely combination with a slightly oily forehead, nose & chin so was very keen to try this. I have also recently realised that it is an advantage to use products from the same range & for the same skin condition as they have been developed to work together & enhance each other’s properties. I believe this is the case with Trilogy. The cleansing gel is a rebalancing wash which I used morning & night. Then the balancing oil is applied & finally the moisturising lotion. I used them all morning & night every day for the trial period. I also used my usual eye cream morning & night. I also must mention that I love the website – you can do a personalised guide which will suggest products for your particular skin type or look through the quick guide. I did the personalised guide & an eye cream was suggested for me so I will look to incorporate this into my regime too. So what was the outcome of the regime as a whole – Yes, I definitely see the benefit of using products from the same company & the correct range for your skin type. I also really liked how my skin felt using these products – fresher, softer, smooth & less oily. I will continue to use all three products. To mention the packaging – best described as ‘no nonsense’. The boxes are all recyclable & all the info you need is printed on them regarding the ingredients (& what each ingredient does), what the product is to be used for, how to use it, any warnings (such as avoid contact with eyes) & the opened shelf life.

After a week of trialing this trio I had to stop using the oil as I really didn't enjoy how it made my skin feel. However using the cleansing gel and moisturising cream really did give my skin a nice treat. The cleansing gel was definitely my favourite, would be one of the best cleansers I have ever used. They work really well together. I feel my skin is a lot clearer, hydrated and way less shine. Even though my skin has less shine it is not dull at all. Neither product weighed my skin down at all but the oil certainly did. I would definitely recommend the cleansing gel and moisturising cream to anyone looking for a nice little combo.

This is a product that smells natural and not overpowering. The moisturiser and oil make you feel great without reducing you to an oil slick and feeling like you just undid all the cleansing you had just done. The cleanser is fantastic and leaves you feeling clean but not stripped and ready to moisturise. I would definitely be a returning customer to Trilogy. I also love that not only are the products NZ made but carry the Natrue.org stamp of approval for natural products. A definite win
