I've always used pencil to do my brows so this is my first brow powder and honestly I wonder I didn't get this sooner. Don't get me wrong I do love the pencils I have but this powder fills up all the gaps and sort of fluffs of my brow and makes it look fuller without giving it that draw look. The shade I have is Taupe and it is really versatile. Recently my brother had a blondish, lady friend stay over and she didn't bring any makeup over. She has thin sparse brows and didn't want to leave the house the next day without her brows, she asked if she could borrow some brow products. I was impressed on how it looked just as natural on her despite her fair skin and hair and it looks really natural on me as well despite my hair being almost black at the moment. She returned it and said she was so impressed she has to get this brow powder. I think Billion Dollar Brows did an amazing job creating this shade that suits most hair colors. This powder is pigmented enough that it fills in the front of my brows but doesn't look to bold like a pencil might. The color clings to my brows hairs and the skin underneath and blends really well giving me fuller brows but looks really natural. I could apply gel over this product but that would be to keep my brow hairs in place because this powder clings to my brow hairs and the skin underneath and doesn't smudge. Impressive considering some brow pencils I have used have smudged. This product comes in a simple little pot like an eye shadow single with a clear screw top and the logo and name of the company on the lid. You get 2g of product. When this powder runs out I will be repurchasing it, but I think it will be a very long time from now since this product will take forever to use up. I highly recommend this brow powder if you are after natural looking fuller brows and want some definition but don't want that tailored penciled done up look. It might be pricey but it will last you a long time.
Tips: Taupe is the one recommended for most hair shades but if you aren't sure, try to check if any stores near you sell BDB so you can check. If you are a make up artist this would be a great addition to your kit. I highly recommend getting a good stiff angle brush and a spoolie brush to stipple and brush the color onto your brows and the spoolie brush to blend and comb your brows. The BDB Dual Ended Brow Brush is great but if you are tight on funds there are cheaper angled brushes and spoolies that work well.
This is my new HOLY GRAIL, I absolutely love this and have been using it everyday since I bought it! I am quite particular when it comes to my brows and previously had only used pencils/crayons, so was very skeptical when trying this. I didn’t think I would like it, but I ended up completely loving it. I have very dark, black eyebrows and have this in the colour Taupe, which isn’t too light at all (I was convinced it would be). It fills in the gaps in my brows and gives definition and creates a really natural brow- it doesn’t look too drawn on or too bold which happens a lot with other products. I use an angled eyeshadow brush with this and it works a treat! It glides on smoothly and is super easy to use, just like using eyeshadow. I am also able to build up the product easily to make my brows darker. I sometimes also put clear brow gel on top to hold my hairs in place if I need to. It lasts all day without a smudge. It also lasts so well at the gym, much to my surprise!! When I have been while wearing make up (bad habit I know, but good for reviews lol), I sweat like crazy (we’re talking dripping here!!) and my brows are perfect haha not smudged or faded at all! The packaging is nice and simple- it comes in a wee plastic silver pottle with a screw top lid that is see through. It’s a good size and easy to get the lid on/off. It’s easy to store and to travel with as well as it’s nice and small. The product will last for ages as well! I have had mine for 4 months now, using it basically daily and it doesn’t even look like it have made a dent in it! It’s such good value for money, and I don’t think it’s too expensive either. I have had a lot of compliments on my brows while using this and have been recommending it to everyone! I would without a doubt repurchase, I have stopped using all my other brow products as this is THE one (well for now haha).
Tips: The best way to apply this for me was with a small angled brow brush! This can also be built up for a darker brow and can use brow gel over top to keep the hairs in place :)
I never thought a brow powder would be as good as a pencil and I did not think it would last very long being powder based. How wrong was I? I am not one to use much make up, if any at all because I am not really into makeup...rather, choosing to sleep in for another 15 mins than spend time doing my face, and besides, I go to the gym most days and find it too much trouble to to reapply in my limited lunch hour. So, I mostly go ‘au naturale’ and only do my brows. Even though I have dark hair, my brows are very fine and also very sparse, and you can hardly see them. I have been experimenting with different brow pencils but have yet to find one that will stay on long enough during my lunch hour in the gym and then the rest of the afternoon at work without paying an exhorbitant price....until I tried this product. This looks like an eyeshadow, comes in a round silver container with a see through lid that twists off. At first I was quite sceptical about using it but it was recommended by the beautician at the Mecca store and I sampled it there. I was really impressed with how easily it was to apply and the look was stunning....looked really natural and the powder was so easy to apply, you brush it on just like eye shadow. It was amazing and it stays on for much longer than I thought it would. It’s not sweat resistant but it’s just as good as a brow pencil I have used that proclaims to be. I find if I just pat my face around that area without touching my brows, I don’t have to reapply after the gym and jt lasts til the end of the day. My brows are not symmetrical so they need a bit of artistry applied to them. I first outlined my brows with a brow pencil to make them look even as I have a higher arch on one side than the other and a lower arch on the opposite side to that. Then I used a brow brush that has a slanted brush at one end to apply the powder by using light brush strokes. After this I finished off using the spoolie at the other end of my brow brush to blend it all in. The shade of the powder I got was taupe which looked too light for my dark brows ( I have black hair) but was just perfect when applied, giving a very polished natural look. The powder pigment blended well into my brows giving them a really slick and tidy look.
The only thing I don’t like about this product is that it doesn’t come with a brow brush. If you don’t already have one of these, the outlay seems quite expensive but it lasts a long time snd given how quickly I get through brow pencils, it’s not too bad when you take that into account.
Tips: Invest in a good brow brush that has a slanted brush at one end to apply the powder and a spoolie at the other end to blend the powder in.
While living in Asia, I had my brows tattooed, and they faded something terrible, I have been using BRB since - one container has lasted over 2 years, and I use it everyday, doesn't look like running out.
Tips: I have dark Grey hair (dyed) so use a mix of Brown (Taupe) and Grey (Raven) BRB gives me a great natural colour I love it.
But they are!
Recently I was extremely lucky and won this powder from Billion Dollar Brows! BR girl TannyGirl put my name down to win on a Facebook competition and I was the lucky one chosen. I love doing my brows and am enjoying using powders at the moment so I was really happy to try this. I got the shade Light Brown which they say is for Warm Blondes and Redheads. I have very blonde eyebrows that you can't even really see without makeup and this looks great on me. I can definitely see how this would work for redheads but I'm loving the shade on myself as well.
The packaging is very simple but effective. It is almost the same size and shape as a MAC eyeshadow pot. It is in a silver plastic case that you twist open. The lid has a see through middle with the BDB logo on it. I really like the packaging and think it is great for travelling too.
The powder itself is extremely pigmented and goes onto the brows really easily. When swatched it feels like my really high end eyeshadows (If I didn't think it was weird to have matching eyelids and brows I would totally do that). It blends really nicely when you go through your brows with a spoolie and just looks incredibly natural, which is what I'm going for. The powder lasts all day and still looks great.
I'm really in love with this brow powder. I have lots of other brow products but at the moment this is the one that I'm drawn to the most because the colour is unlike anything else I own and I feel like it just really suits me. I would recommend this powder to anyone, even at the price of $33.
I have just got this amazing product last week and omg I'm in love it's my new DEF go to and very soon everyone is going to be talking about it. It goes on so smoothly and still can look natural love love love this product
