Being a bit of a budget conscious person, being selected to trial this brush was a bit of a godsend. The whole Bobbi Brown brand is something that I normally wouldn’t be able to afford, and therefore, wouldn’t even look at.
Let’s start with my first impressions, and I’m pretty sure that I’m the only one who thinks this, but I find this brush incredibly aesthetically unpleasing. The handle is a pale yellow varnished wood, kind of reminds me of art class in intermediate and also reminds me of hockey sticks.. So perhaps that is why I don’t like it - reminds me of two things I didn’t overly enjoy in my childhood. Secondly, I am not normally a fan of flat brushes, they normally end up with a streaky finish for me and I feel like I’m just pushing things around. The upside? It stands out in my collection… but probably for the wrong reasons.
So, with that out of the way, let’s get down to business… and holy moly, this might be my exception for my hatred of flat foundation brushes.
First of all, the bristles are divine. They are soft, I feel like I’m brushing my face with my cats tail (and trust me, she is the softest thing in the world). They are also the perfect length, nothing too awkward so it gives you the perfect amount of control. No shedding (yahoo), so I didn’t look like I had whiskers. The bristles also don’t absorb all of the product, it gives a nice and even non-streaky finish on your face - a big hell yes in my book.
Secondly, the handle feels amazing. It’s not too clunky, it’s not too thin - it fits perfectly into my tiny wee hand. The brush, despite being pretty hideous in my book, feels gorgeous and worth the price. The varnishing provides a nice smoothness too, no splinters to be seen!
An added bonus, because the brush doesn’t absorb the product, it makes cleaning a breeze. This definitely took half the time to clean than my cheaper brushes!
Overall, I’m really happy with the Bobbi Brown Foundation brush. It definitely feels worth the $67 price tag, and I’m incredibly happy with how my makeup turned out when I used it.
This brush is absolutely a great choice. Helps to buff the foundation well on to the face and will feel so soft on the face. There is a clear difference in the feeling which you get out of the cheap brushes when compared to this. The soft bristles make a great combination with the steady handle and help to gain the output of a flawless finish to your make up. The bristles of the brushes do not over absorb the product and this gives a perfect finish and easy to clean as well.
Tips: Certainly worthy for the price...
