I got this scrub from the last vault.
This scrub is a bit dryer than i’d expected, it kind of looks like cake mix before the wet ingredients are added. Therefore it seems that there’s not a great amount of oils in it. It’s generally the oiliest of body scrubs that win me over, however i’m still pretty pleased with this one.
This scrub has a strong and yummy scent, it smells like jaffa, which I think is likely to be a winner for most. It’s moderately coarse in graininess, and moderately (sufficiently) exfoliating. It’s not quite as moisturizing as I would like, but it does leave a light oily layer behind on your skin.
I find that this product should be used generously, it’s a 200gram bag, which I feel is a decent amount of product for the price. The bag is a hardy foil material with a zip-lock seal, so totally waterproof. (You wouldn’t want to get any water in the bag, otherwise the product would dissolve.)
It does make a bit of a mess in the shower, make sure that you rinse it off the shower walls before getting out, otherwise it could possibly stain.
I’m liking this product, i’m not exactly loving it, just because I personally prefer very oily scrubs. I would recommend however, and it would make a great gift to include in a pamper pack.
Along with hair care and hand and nail care, body scrubs are another of my favourite items. When I saw this in the May beauty vault I couldn’t resist. It looked cute and it sounded great.
The packaging is cute but the white resealable bag looks like something that would belong in the pantry. I love the way they have written up the directions and ingredients, its funky and fun and makes me want to use it. I also love companies that step outside the norm and are different.
So I take my ‘buddy’ to the shower and I take a spoon too, so I can scoop the scrub out. It says on the back to not get water in the bag so I thought using a spoon to dig it out would prevent wet hands and water getting inside the bag I also thought it would make less mess around the ziplock piece making it easier to close.
This brown sugar and sea salt scrub smells slightly chocolate minty. It is a reddy brown colour and just looks like brown sugar that has gone wrong. I start scrubbing it round my body in circular motions I love these types of body scrubs as having dry skin I rely on them to buff away all the dry patches and they just feel so good it’s like a wee wake up call to your skin. A couple of tablespoons is enough for my whole body and massage it around for a few minutes.. yes probably an overkill but it just feels so good.
I find the scrub really easy to wash away and doesn’t stick to the skin with it being brown I thought it may have stained my skin but lucky for me it doesn’t. it leaves a slight residue from the oils which my skin usually absorbs after a few hours. But it doesn’t feel gross and it is only a very slight layer of oil.
Overall this buddy is a damn good buddy and I will want to repurchase it once it runs out and maybe even try another scent.
