I have sensitive skin and often new products have adverse reaction on my face. This product is truly what the company clams. Therapeutic and calming. The smell is so soft and light and relaxing. You can smell it for quiet long. The product has perfect consistency and glides smoothly and absorbs quickly leaving the skin soft and silky. I really liked the packaging. No extra packaging waste. The product is plumping tube. 2 pumps are enough for the face. Overall this product is worth every cent if you have a sensitive dry skin.

Wow, wow, wow, the Clarins Calm-Essentiel Soothing Emulsion is amazing. I have very dry and sensitive skin due to medication and have not been able to find anything to work on my skin until now. The soothing emulsion immediately makes my skin feel soft and hydrated. I also found that mixing it with 2 drops of the restoring treatment oil, made it go further and my skin more soft and hydrated. I highly recommend anyone with sensitive skin trying this product.
This has become my daytime moisturiser for before sunscreen and makeup. It's quite light feeling but delivers great deep hydration and is so soothing, no stinging, no itching, and the fragrance is so so gentle too. Overall an awesome product!
Tips: Mix it with any oil of your choosing if deciding to use this at night! Just provides you with an extra boost of hydration and levels it up to something so rich and yummy.
The Clarins Calm essentials Soothing emulsion comes in a easy to use tube with a pump dispenser, which I loved as I find them to be more hygienic and you can control how much product you need without wasting it. The emulsion has a nice smell and very easy to apply and spreads onto the skin easily as well. The product absorbed into my skin really well and left it feeling quite soft and smooth to the touch. I did find that this helped reduce the redness and made my skin less irritated and dry. One of my favorites out of the 3 products that I trialed in this range. Highly recommend and I would definitely continue to purchase this.
Tips: Use at night with a drop of Clarins calming oil for the perfect night time relaxed and hydrated skin.
I was fortunate to trial this product. This cream comes in a plastic pump bottle with a plastic lid. I have sensitive combination skin and it often difficult to find products that suit my skin. I used this product daily in the morning after I have cleansed my face with a different product and brand. It was easy to apply and absorbed quickly into my skin. It left my skin feeling soft, smooth and moisturized. With other products I have experienced overly shiny skin however I was very pleased that this Clarins product didn’t leave my skin looking shiny or greasy. I tend to get dryness around my nose and I have noticed that this has started to go away too. I am prone to breakouts, especially when using products, however my skin didn’t react negatively to this product, which was amazing. This product has a subtle scent to it that smells fresh. I often used the restoring treatment oil after. Definitely a must try product for people with sensitive skin.
Tips: Use morning and night after cleansing your skin
Just love this product. I had been using all sorts of serums, moisturisers and eye creams before starting this trial and the results were so disappointing. No matter what I did, and did every single day religiously, my skin was dry and itchy, flakey, sensitive, red, and unevenly toned. Just before finding out about this trial I was doing research into what I could do to help my skin, and I came across the benefits of emulsifying ointments and creams. Boom. Clarin’s soothing emulsion dropped into my lap. From day one the results were instantaneous and miraculous (to me). After using for 10 days my skin is no longer dry, itchy, flakey, or tight. The tone is improved and I’ve even noticed an improvement in fine lines and wrinkles!
The product smells amazing, the packaging it ethically sourced, easy to remove, and informative, though I do find you need to pump a bit to get enough product out. I use about 3-4 pumps to cover my face and neck.
Very happy with this product and will 100% be purchasing this once I’ve used it all up!!
Tips: I use this in the evening after cleansing, followed up with the restorative treatment oil from the same regime.
I've been using the Soothing Emulsion in conjunction with the Restoring Oil for the last 10 days.
While I don't really like the scent of the soothing emulsion (first thought was Grandma's moisturiser that had been sitting in her makeup drawer for a couple of years), mixed with the very faintly scented restoring oil the scent tones down a little.
I needed three pumps of the emulsion along with three drops of the oil to cover my face (four of each to also cover my neck with a little on the backs of my hands - which have also benefitted from this treatment). As with the corrective gel it was non-greasy even with the oil added into it, and was absorbed by my skin relatively quickly.
After the fourth day I noticed some small breakouts, so dropped the oil back to every second day, which worked fine with no more breakouts.
Overall I have noticed a definite reduction in my rosacea and redness in my skin. I am very prone to blushing, which is normally a prickly burning sensation on my face and neck, however this has also toned down since using this regime and is not so painful/annoying.
Overall I'm pleased with these products and they have achieved good results on my skin as they promised. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to anyone suffering from redness and rosacea.
The soothing emulsion is a luxurious product that makes day to day beauty care a pleasure. If you suffer from tight or dry skin, or just want to treat your skin then this is the product for you. The packaging is simple and the smell is subtly floral. Using it day to day, you will notice how radiant your skin becomes and over time you can use a little less as your skin starts to relax. This hydrates the skin whilst also providing a barrier to the elements. Well done Clarins
First off, this comes in a handy tube format (simple but pretty in white and pink) with a pump dispenser and a firm-click lid, so it's portable, hygienic and very easy to dispense the amount you want. Love it. The emulsion itself has a nice mid-weight cream texture, so 'rich emulsion' is probably a good description, great for melting softly into your skin and beautiful for around the eyes (yes, really - and no stinging or puffiness).
The floral scent is pleasant enough but very strong. I was actually nervous to put it on the first time, because as a sensitive-skin girl, my face products are almost all fragrance-free. It turned out to be fine in terms of my sensitivity, but it was stronger, more floral, and longer-lasting (lingering for hours) than I would personally like. Not a deal-breaker for me though.
As for performance... A+. My skin was VERY tight, dry, reactive and uncomfortable before the trial (it gets like that most winters), and my usual gentle moisturisers were stinging on application. The first time I applied the emulsion, there was a very slight stinging feeling, which disappeared quickly (so that was actually already an improvement), but after that, every time I used it my skin just felt better and better, even around my eyes. Calm. Soothed. Hydrated. As you'd expect, it takes a while to re-set upset skin and break the over-sensitised, reactive cycle, but mine was feeling great within a week! In terms of pure hydration, at first the emulsion didn't seem enough on its own. So I added a couple of drops of the Calm Essentiel Oil on top, which helped. But now I do that just once every few days IF I feel the need to. I think my skin's normalised now, so it's just not as desperately thirsty.
For coverage, a pea-sort-of-sized blob of emulsion does my face and neck, so the 50 ml tube would last many, many months. It's definitely a lot pricier than my usual, but as a winter rescue treatment purchased once every couple of years, I reckon it's probably worth it.
For anyone with hyper-sensitive, dry skin, I can't recommend this highly enough. Mine's certainly breathing a looong sigh of relief.
Tips: I'd apply this on its own, skipping toners, serums and eye creams, etc., so that the soothing oils and botanicals can work directly to restore your skin's protective layers. Gradually add in other treatments and products as your skin normalises. And add a drop or two of the Calm Essentiel Oil if you need even more hydration.
This white lotion is soothing and moisturising. The fluidity is not runny and not thick...it is just right. The smell is absolutely gorgeous. It doesn't aggravate my skin and leaves it with just the right level of moisture. The bottle has a pump dispenser and two pumps is enough to cover my face, neck and decolletage.
