I find Essie such an amazing brand to use. I actually really love their colour range, and it is among my favourite nail polish brands along with OPI and Butter London. I own mint candy apple, chinchilly, ballet slippers, after school boy blazer and another coral I cannot remember the name of. I find application easy and it doesn't chip or bubble or anything. Drys reasonably quick as well, at least faster than OPI. I think most of all, they were most worth buying for me because I got them in America, where they were only about $4 each. If I were to buy nail polish in NZ, I would probably still go for OPI over Essie just because the prices are practically the same.

Tips: The coral colour that I own sort of changes colour when a top coat is applied... Still a rad colour just more yellowy than the colour purchased. Inside the bottle, it is starting to go this colour too. Could be because of sunlight or something, but just keep them well stored!
I had high expectations for Essie after hearing it compared to OPI for so many months. I finally plucked up the courage (and money) to purchase a lovely coral shade.
First of all, I find it very runny! I find it's really easy to overload the brush and after all that nail polish, the cover is very poor. I did two coats and it looked like one coat with other pricey brands.
The day after wearing it I had my hands in water for about half an hour, and it all peeled off!
The positives: It was a lovely color, and perhaps with an extra coat and perhaps a top coat would have lasted longer. But as a mother to two young kids, I don't have time to apply 5 coats of nail polish!
Negatives: Very runny and bad coverage. This might just have been this particular shade, but I don't have the money to try another one for it to turn out the same.
Tips: Perhaps base coats and top coats will make it last longer!
Essie is my favourite brand of nail polish and I also love this colour.
I prefer Essie nail polishes over OPI, China glaze etc as I feel Essie has the best formula. Its not too think so it goes on easy and it dries much faster than OPI. So I really enjoy essie polishes.
This particular colour is very nice. I bought it at a makeup sale. Its goes well with my tan skin, infact I think i'll suit any skin tone. Just a bit sheer so I do need to apply two to three coats for full opacity.
I don't wear nude natural looking shades like this on a regular basis, but, after hearing about this polish and how gorgeous it was I had to step out of my routine and give it a try.
I found the formula of this polish was good and easy to apply. It is a sheerer polish than what I am used to, but, that is the look it is made for I believe. I still use 3 coats to get the look I desire though. To me it gives the look of french manicured nails without the white tip (although you could easy add that). It dries in normal time and lasts me a couple of days before a chip occurs...but, I have weak nails and am not exactly kind to my hands (always doing dishes, washing, picking things etc). The formula is nice and not gluggy or difficult to work with so if this sort of shade is up your alley I would recommend it.
I ended up passing this onto a friend as I didn't wear it enough, but, I did like the shade it just wasn't a favourite.
Tips: Apply a base coat and top coat for an increased wear time.
I love the colour of this nail polish! It has a tiny hint of shimmer in it which really tops it off! The only issue I had with this nail polish was that it was quite thin, so it needed 2-3 coats to build up the colour. Essie does have great packaging and the brush is perfect for getting straight lines on the edge of your nail! Will definitely be buying more nail polishes from Essie!
I love, love, LOVE this color. I was hesitant to buy it because I already have several light blue polishes, but this one is truly unique. It's like a baby blue periwinkle. Very slight shimmer that just reads as a nice finish. The formula is thin and streaky so it needed two - three coats, which can be time consuming of course. I'm currently on Day 2 with no chips, so I'd say it doesn't chip very easily as long as you use a top coat.
Tips: Apply 2-3 coats
The problem I have with most nail polishes is that it comes on either too thick or too thin. Essie nailpolishes are soo easy to use because the brush is so versatile and can be applied thick or thin. When i first put it on the brush covers most of the nail.
Tips: The only thing about this nail polish is that the coats come out quite thin. You need to put on around 3 coats for it to look good.
i love this colour but was a bit dissapointed with the application, it can be a little streaky but this can be corrected over a couple of layers, that being said, more layers = more chance of chipping, and i noticed this happening whenever I did more than two coats. the shape and width of the brush is awesome and very easy to use, would definitely try other colours from this brand
Don't get me wrong, I still love OPI, But I think in terms of how long-lasting it is, price comparison to OPI and function I really do have a new favourite brand.
I've discovered I really prefer their nail brush or the nail polish in general? I tend to get more of a easy glide in layering my nail-polish because its not as thick. In terms of price I find it is also cheaper than some other brands when you get it at the make-up sale.
I love Essie polish, just as much as OPI but I find Essie has a slightly better colour range, especially in the pale/sheer pink range - they have so many too choose from. I think the consistency, drying time and brush are all great quality. With a base coat and top coat Essie polish lasts me almost a week without noticeable chips but far less time if I don't use a top coat. The colours I have at the moment are Penny Talk, Back in the Limo, Recessionista, Don't Sweater It, and Eternal Optimist. I'd also like to try their Matte top coat soon.
Tips: Always use a top coat, no matter what brand you use it will always last longer with a top coat :)
