L'Oreal Paris ELVIVE Extraordinary Clay Shampoo Review

How exciting to be reviewing a product that could possibly offer relief from oily roots! I was really surprised by how thick the shampoo is compared to the corresponding conditioner! Its a lovely consistency and smells delicious! After using the clay mask,it feels so good to give your scalp a thorough clean with the shampoo. I concerntrated on using it mainly on my scalp, whereas I used the conditioner only on my ends. This product leaves my hair feeling very clean and full of volume,and I can now go a few more days without washing my hair. The scent is so lovely and I feel a lot more confident not having hair that could have lubed a car!

I thought the packaging was simple but effective. However, it looks pretty much identical to the conditioner so I needed to be careful regarding which bottle I grab - especially because I'm short sighted so already have poor vision!

It squeezes out easily and smells amazing! The scent also lasts after you rinse it out. It made my hair feel clean, light, smooth, silky and manageable. It also let my hair last longer than usual. I typically wash it every other day, but this allowed me to extend it to about 4 days!

Definitely love it, would repurchase and would highly recommend!

I love this range, my hair lasted twice as long before needing a wash. It went on nicely and rinsed nicely. The only thing I didn't like was the smell and the fact that it looks exactly like the conditioner so you have to read the bottles to make sure you have the right product. My hair is normally oily by the second day so I usually wash it daily, this time it lasted a couple of days. It smells like a mix of clay and colouring chemicals you smell at a salon. I like my shampoo to smell like apples or strawberry or something yummy. I will definitely be buying this from now on.

My scalp is naturally oily and I cant go a day without washing my hair. I've gone through many shampoo/conditioner duo brands in the hope to find a product that would break this cycle and was really really thrilled to be selected for this trial/review. I received the entire hair care regime in the clay range, including the pre-shampoo mask, shampoo, conditioner as well as the dry shampoo.

The shampoo I found, lathers well and is easy to apply and wash off. I followed the instructions and applied to roots to wash off excess oil and then followed with conditioner, applying from mid-length to roots. After towel drying, I blow dried my hair and noticed how bouncy and voluminous its looked and smelled amazing! The next morning I was able to heat style my hair with ease. Even after a night’s sleep, my hair was silky and manageable. Usually, by mid-day my hair would start to feel weighed down, and limp and by end of day it will definitely start to feel eeky. But it surprisingly still felt and looked great so I didn’t wash it and the next morning I just lightly heat styled and soldiered through another day. My hair did start to feel bit heavy & greasy towards the end of second day and I wasn’t game enough to leave it off for another day so washed it that night. The verdict - L'Oreal Paris ELVIVE Extraordinary Clay Shampoo works well in reducing oiliness from your scalp, helping you to go longer without washing your hair. With just shampoo and conditioner, I was able to go for two days without a hair wash, and by using the pre-shampoo mask, I could go 3. And in between washes, I would maintain “freshness” and lightweight hair by using the dry shampoo.

Such a good shampoo! I don't think I've ever found a shampoo in the drugstore that is specifically dedicated for oily roots or even hair for that matter so it was great to be picked to trial this. I can definitely say that it makes a difference for my oily hair as I'll be able to go around 2 maybe even 3 days without washing whereas before I couldn't go a day without using dry shampoo to help. It also rinses well and feels pretty gentle on the scalp. The scent is also amazing! The smell lasts which is the best thing ever since theres nothing I love more than having nice smelling hair the day after you wash. I don't know if using the shampoo alone helps the ends of my hair more than any other shampoo would but the conditioner definitely does and makes brushing my hair so much easier. This shampoo is also silicone free which I had no idea what it was before and had no idea that most shampoos I had used previously included silicone. I had read that it gives the illusion of silky smooth hair but overtime it builds up in your hair which adds to the grease and weight which is terrible. I can definitely see how this shampoo has made my hair last so much longer and smoother too!

I was able to test this product for a week and I can totally vouch that this product is really effective and true to its claims.

I used this and tried not to wash my hair for a total of 3 days! Can you imagine that? I was so impressed because I actually wash my hair every other day. I'm planning to keep this shampoo and definitely repurchase when I finished the bottle.

I don't think this shampoo is suitable for colored hair because the formula gets really foamy even with little product. Foamy shampoo don't actually suit colored hair because the color will fade quickly.

Being foamy is actually not a bad thing, it's actually good if you don't have colored hair because this is a thrifty shampoo. A little goes a long way with this product.

So glad I got to review this. The shampoo is AMAZING! It is effective, it smells amazing, and it's an affordable price point. The bottle says you'll get 72 hours of gorgeous hair, but I've got it an extra day or two more without seeing the greasy, oily mess that used to greet me. Other shampoos have over-stripped my hair, leaving me with fizzy bits and frizz (also, new Mums will get me here - those awful baby hairs that you get round your forehead from the post-partum hair loss. They used to full-on frizz, but not with this!).

This shampoo left me with a very, very, slight halo of hair, but nothing a quick spritz of hairspray couldn't fix - and even then, not really needed. It didn't weigh down the ends either. I've also found using other dedicated oily hair products that my hair got tangled and knotted. This time, nothing. So easy to brush and I didn't wake up with a bird's nest in my hair.

Just beautifully clean, healthy hair and scalp.
