La Roche Posay Anthelios Ultra Cream XL SPF 50+ Reviews

If you take sun protection seriously and want a comfortable, non irritating product then this is the one for you. I LOVE this product. I am onto my 3rd tube. I have sensitive pale skin and I wear this almost every day. I originally tried this after reading a Consumer Magazine article that this has the highest levels of UVA/UVB protection (of the sunscreens they tested) available in NZ. I have combination skin so depending on the time of year I sometimes use La Roche Pasay's 'Matte Formula' of this same sunscreen - which is also excellent. I use this alone and also under makeup. It works really well under makeup. The packaging is great for the handbag and the beach.

I tried this product after using one of the other sunscreens in the range since trialing it for Beauty Review. I work outdoors so a good sunscreen is mandatory. I loved the original Roche Posay I was using but this one is an improvement again as when I sweat (gross I know!) I don't end up with residue in my eyes that stings. The one thing that I am not 100% on is the tube it comes in. I find that the nozzle can sometimes get blocked up and even sticking a pin in it can take a while to clear it out. The sunscreen itself is a white cream that glides on and absorbs into the face easily. It doesn't have an over-powering scent to it like some sunscreens which is nice. It also works well under makeup. I reapply every 2-3 hours while I am at work and never get burnt while wearing it. I buy mine at the Chemist Warehouse so it is easy to find and not too badly priced for a skincare product of this quality.

I found this sunscreen last summer. It is so good and I love that it doesn’t sting my sensitive skin and eyes. I always go for SPF50 and love how well this works for my skin. The texture is really light and it’s so easy to apply (no white patches) and it’s not overly scented like some sunscreens can be. It works well under makeup too, but I use this primarily for heading to the beach. It’s great when you can get this on sale, however I will repurchase regardless.

I have Lupus so have to be extremely careful in the sun. But this sunblock actually works. It is not oily either, so feels more like a moisturizer when it goes on. And it stays on too. My whole family use it and swear by it.

This brand is SO good - I love the moisturisers, cleansers and now I love the sunscreen!

A little background, my skin is sensitive and reactive to some products including sunscreens. This little tube does wonders! It has such a nice gentle formula but really effective too!

It can be such a challenge to find an spf 50 sunblock that is specifically for the face, so when I spotted this at my pharmacy, I jumped at it! As promised, it is super gentle and doesn't leave that gross oily feeling or any white residue once applied. It sits nicely under moisturiser and makeup for the day. I probably should reapply during the day but I don't and managed to avoid any sunburn to my face all summer so it is obviously super effective. I didn't actually realise it contained an antioxidant for fighting free radicals until I read the description above so this is a great added bonus!

I was recommended this as a sunblock for my teen daughter who is very fair like me, and who hates the feeling of any kind of sunblock on her face.

I did think it was quite pricey for such a small tube, but from the first use, I wouldn't hesitate to buy it again. It is simply fabulous. Smooth to apply, a couple of pumps covers the whole face. There is minimal fragrance, and it dried so quickly, my fussy daughter who hates the 'ick' feeling of any kind of cream on her face was amazed. She won't wear anything else now, and I feel the same way when I wear it. We've found our holy grail! :)

The sun protection also lasted a whole day at school which included a prolonged sports day outside without a trace of pink to her skin at the end of the day.

Really good formulation for dry and sensitive skin although given you need 4-5 pumps per application I’d be concerned with the small tube size and high price that people might be using it too sparingly for adequate protection.
