So I'm a sucker for a good eyeliner and was super excited to trial this one. It's got a cute hexagonal shape and looks really nice. Easy to tell apart from all the other round shaped penciles/liners you might have lying around. The only downside is i can hardly open it. The lid is *really* secure and despite the extra edges from the hexagon there's really not much to grip on and it generally takes me 2-3 attempts to get the lid off, and the force required to pull it can end up with you drawing on your hand when it finally gives. If you have greasy hands from applying primer or foundation then you'll most definitely struggle, and this would be super difficult for anyone with reduced grip strength or only the use of one arm.
The formula itself stays well on either bare lids or on eyeshadow base, it doesn't flake and the brush tip is nice and fine - enabling really nice precision lining. It doesn't smudge and a picture I drew on the back of my hand lasted through a day of washing and a shower - only coming off when I scrubbed it. Easily removed with makeup remover though.
I don't typically use a liquid eyeliner so I wasn't too sure how I would go. Well this product was just too easy. First of all, having a hexagonal grip is the best idea. I felt I was in full control with no chance of it slipping. It lived up to it's promise of a smooth glide and the brush tip has no stray hairs that can cause such chaos. I was able to do the perfect line and it didn't smudge. It is very black which I wouldn't usually use, but I did like it. It lasted all day and even though it's waterproof, it came off easier than I expected. When shaken, you can hear there are little beads in it. One thing I didn't like is if you don't click the lid on properly, it pops off completely. The disadvantage of this (as I found out after the first day of my trial) is that the product dries out. I hoped that with a good shake it would come right but sadly this wasn't the case. Overall, I liked the product and would use it again, but take much more care with the lid!
Tips: Make sure you put the lid on properly otherwise it dries up.
