Olay Niacinamide + AHA Serum

My initial thoughts when receiving the Olay Niacinamide + AHA serum was that the packaging was beautiful, but possibly looked like it was aimed at a slightly younger audience than myself. It very clearly states what problem areas the product works for. The bottle has a very cool screw top with a pop out button as you open it, which is used to suck up the serum into an eye dropper for use. I usually need to use 1-2 pumps for my face - the box or bottle don't say what the recommended amount to use is, other than to apply evenly to face.

Much like the moisturiser, the serum has a lovely citrus scent, which I personally don't believe is over-powering. However, I do like it when my products have a mild scent. It instantly left my skin feeling very smooth and soft. As serums go, it's a fairly thick one, like if you put a glob on your hand it won't roll/drip off, a little goes a long way and it absorbs very quickly into the skin, leaving a soft smooth feeling afterwards. I've thought for weeks about how to describe this smooth feeling and still can't quite explain it, it's like an invisible layer, which once washed off the feeling is gone, at least initially, as overall my skin felt smoother after using the product, but in a different way.

During the first week, in the first hour or two after application my skin did feel hot and looked a little bit redder. I was using it with the moisturiser as well and tried different combinations of leaving one off, but it did seem to be caused by an active ingredient in both the products. After the hour or so, this subsided and after the first week it seemed that I no longer had any reaction. It's possibly very similar to when people first start using retinol, as now I don't have any reaction at all (other than the great results, which I'll write about below)

I've now been using the product for around a month, maybe longer. I'm really loving the smell of it and my skin is looking so much clearer and smoother. I'm amazed at the results and can barely believe it, as I've been struggling with my skin a lot in the last year and it's finally starting to look less red, bumpy and tired. I really do believe the claims given in the product, as there are some spots I'd tried so hard to get rid of, and now have disappeared. I'm really loving how bright my skin is looking and would definitely use this product again.

On first glance honestly, I couldn’t even open the bottle! But after a quick google the way it’s designed is awesome! Easy to travel with and hard to spill. The feeling of this product is amazing on the skin, and my skin looks clearer every single day. A little goes a long way!

I have used the Olay Niacinamide + AHA Serum (in combination with Olay Niacinamide + AHA Moisturiser) on a daily basis for a number of weeks now.

The bottle has a great dropper to disperse the serum on to your finger tips! The dropper also prevents too much serum being dispersed.

I found the texture of this serum was thick and creamy, in a nice way and the aroma is gorgeous.

The serum was easily absorbed into my face without leaving an oily layer, no clogging of pores. I have a slightly oily face and this serum didn't make my face any oilier.

Olay have quite a few claims regarding this serum. I definitely found my face brighter, but not sure the dark sports were reduced (maybe more time will tell).

I definitely like this product and the positive effects it has my skin!

My most used skincare ingredients are Vitamin C, Niacinamide and AHA. So when I saw a product that combines 3 in 1, I just had to jump on board. Thank you Beauty Review for the opportunity to trial.

Let's first talk about the packaging. This is my second Olay serum and I read reviews before that some people find it hard to use the dropper but honestly, I find it super easy. Plus it's very hygienic and no chance of losing even a drop.

The only con is I can't see how much of the product is left. Overall love the packaging, it's elegant and pretty.

The texture is in between a light moisturizer and a gel, and looks creamy. I find it quite lightweight and absorbs really fast and well too.

It has some fragrance in it which is fine to me but people who prefer unscented products may not appreciate it.

I don't have problematic skin and neither spots so I can't comment on how it removes spots. However, I can say my skin looks much nicer and clearer, with a healthy glow.

It makes my skin looks fresh and bright.

Also I really like the idea of combining 3 ingredients which means you don't have to use a separate serum for each ingredient. Win, win.

I have been using Olay Niacinamide + AHA Super Serum for 5 weeks now on a 1 on 1 off basis at night with the Olay Niacinamise + AHA Moisturiser. I started to use both the moisturiser and super serum together, as instructed twice a day, but found there was just too much moisture for my combination skin. So I resorted to using 1 at a time in rotation each night only (as I was hesitant to use for day use due to the increased risk of sun burn and the need to apply a sunscreen too - which would be a step too far in a build up of moisture on my oily areas). I do actually think my skin is more luminous, and have noticed a reduction in darker areas of sun damage/freckles.  Maybe I am abit slow on new technology, but it took me a while to work out how the dispenser pump worked! In saying that it does seem to suck up the correct amount for coverage. I use a full dropper to cover my face and neck. It does absorb quickly and my skin is definitely still moist in the morning and the effect continues all day with a great soft and smooth texture. A couple of very dry patches have reduced with the regime of serum and moisturiser. I love the light peach fragrance which is very subtle. I truly believe you can always rely on Olay to provide innovative product. Availability at the supermarket will guarantee my continued usage.

First off let’s start with the packaging! I love it! The dropper give you the perfect amount of serum everytime! It’s easy to use, looks pretty on your dresser and helps stop product wastage!

Onto the serum itself! I loved it! Not an overly heavy serum and massages into the skin nicely and effortlessly. It does have a scent but nothing too strong and overpowering. After two weeks of consistent use I noticed old pimple scars fading considerably, my skin feeling smoother and redness seemed to lessen.

I easily get irritated skin around my nose and this serum didn’t cause any irritation at all.

I love the elegant packaging of this product. The twist to open is really high quality and easy to use and i love how the dropper dispenses the perfect amount as it is really easy to use too much serum.

The product is really light and absorbs easily so you don't have to wait around before the rest of your routine. I can tell it is definitely working to reduce scars and discolouration on my face and my skin feels a lot softer and smoother as well.

I really enjoyed this product and will be repurchasing.

Olay Luminous Niacinamide + AHA Super Serum has a deeply hydrating formula enriched with Hyaluronic Acid and AHA (Lactic Acid). It claims to penetrate 10 surface layers of the epidermis, is easily absorbed to intensely hydrate the skin for visibly smoother and more radiant skin in only 28 days. It says it's fast absorbing and non-greasy, and is formulated without any nasties, meaning it has no parabens, sulphates, phthalates, petrolatum or mineral oils.

When you twist open the lid, a button on top pops up, which is the dropper sucking up a drop, ready for you to dispense it onto your palm. It only draws up a single drop of the serum each time, so there's no wastage. One drop is enough to do my face, neck and chest.

The serum has a lovely, light fruity scent that doesn't linger, and the thin liquid is quickly absorbed into the skin with minimal massage, leaving a nice glow even after moisturiser has been applied. It goes on well under makeup and is lightweight and super hydrating. I'm 44 and have naturally oily skin, and left my skin so dewy without any extra greasiness. I did experience a slight tingle on my skin from the lactic acid, especially after exfoliating, but it passed in a few seconds and left no redness or other side effects.

My only complaint is with the packaging - it's impossible to see how much product is left in the bottle. Other than that, I really like Olay’s serums (and I’ve tried a few). If you’re looking for a serum with niacinamide + AHA, give this one a try. I'll definitely be purchasing more!

Found this serum really improved my skins elasticity and appearance. It didn’t cause any breakouts or skin issues for me. I found the bottle super easy and fun to use. The scent is AMAZING, reminds me of juicy peaches. This also worked super well underneath make up, I found that it really decreased getting dry patches on my face that foundation sticks to throughout the day. I would compare this serum to a lot of my higher end skincare serums, absolutely loved this product.
