Olay's Niacinamide + Vitamin C Moisturiser says it's suitable for dry and dull skin. My skin ticks those boxes nicely, along with having dark spots from acne/pimple scarring, so I was excited to try this.
First of all, the packaging is lovely. I like the silver top, and the solid plastic jar with its swirl design - it looks chic. The moisturiser itself has a citrus scent, which disappears quickly once on the skin, which I appreciated. The texture is rich but also gel-like, and it sinks into the skin quickly, and leaves it very smooth feeling to the touch (which I'm guessing is because of the dimethicone).
While using this my skin did certainly feel like it was brighter to look at, my fresher dark spots did seem to reduce in appearance, and overall I liked it. Makeup also sat on top of it nicely and I didn't experience pilling. The one thing that stopped me loving it is that my skin didn't feel as hydrated as I'd have liked, in fact it felt a little tight. Had it felt plush, I'd have given it five kisses. That being said, it's still a great moisturiser, it did what it said it would do, and if you had dry-ish to normal skin, I think it would be a real winner.
I really loved this moisturiser ... I hate anything that leaves me feeling like there is a residue of any kind on my skin and this fulfilled that part of the brief. It absorbed quickly and I did think my skin instantly looked brighter after application. But I gave it the full 28 days and I'd say my skin has definitely improved. Being a mum to a 10mth old, sleep can sometimes be a little hard to find and it 100% showed in my skin. I actually had a few people comment that I must be getting more sleep now, purely based on my skin (the quantities of sleep haven't increased!). Oh and best bit for me was the smell, I loved it - one of the nicest smelling moisturisers I've used in a while. Something about the aroma of citrus just always makes you feel more fresh!
Tips: I did find that I used a little more of the product that I do for other moisturisers, but this may have been because it is very light and my skin was definitely on the drier side. I think the quantities I was using started to decrease as my skin started to recover and improve.
