Lovely thick luxurious cream. I expect nothing less from an Olay moisturiser. Didn’t notice a fragrance. A little goes a long way for me. Absorbed into the skin well. Left me a little tacky, but not in a bad way as it was 90% absorbed in. That feeling soon went away. Didn’t leave me greasy, possibly because it had niacinamide in it. I’m not a morning moisturising person, so after my morning wash, and through out the day, my skin started going a bit dry. That could be the change of season, but my skin hasn’t had it’s usually dry patches in over a year, so might have been the product. I have only tried one other Olay regenerist moisturiser, and I do like this one better. But I probably wouldn’t use this as my regular moisturiser as I have other favourites.

I love how moisturising this is for the skin, it's a bit too heavy for during the day and I prefer to use this at night especially during winter when my skin feels a bit more dehydrated in the morning. I put this on at night and wakeup to my skin feeling soft and glowy. It doesn't feel oily either just very dewy and moisturising.
I tried this for 3 weeks, morning and night and enjoyed the feel of this moisturiser. I love that it is fragrance free as my skin is slightly sensitive to fragrance in skin care but wasn't so keen on the packaging as it is in a pot which I didn't feel was very hygienic. It would be nice to have the ingredients and percentages listed on the packaging. I loved the sound of this moisturiser as it contains come of my favourite ingredients. It felt nice on the skin, sinks in easily and makeup goes on nicely over it. I do usually prefer a moisteriser with sunblock in it. I feel it did hydrate well throughout the day but didn't notice a huge change in my skin over the 3 weeks. However, using the twice a day I haven't been through much product at all so will definitely be finishing this product and see if I get more results over time.
Tips: Definately need sunblock over top of this
so I already knew a bit about collagen but thought to myself what is Niacinamide? Apparently it helps build keratin a protein which keeps skin firm. Niacinamide can help grow a ceramide (lipid) barrier which can, in turn, helps retain moisture. This is beneficial for all skin types, especially for eczema affected skin or mature skin. This product also says on the box it has no mineral oil phthalates parabens synthetic dyes and fragrance. However, I do detect a fragrance in this cream. It's not unpleasant and it's mild but there where as I didn't detect fragrance in the matching serum of this line. This cream is much thicker than the serum & has a plastic cover under the lid so the cream doesn't get all over the lid or the screw on part of the glass jar. The lid is silver but not metal it's plastic like the serum lid. I think some people don't like little pottles of products because they seem less hygienic as you are dipping your fingers into the jar/pottle to apply the product. While this is a nice cream to have I do prefer the serum as the next morning after applying the cream sometimes there was a visable white residue from the cream on my skin. The cream also has diamenticone in it but so does the serum. I have write lots of reviews especially in hair care reviews about properties of diamenticone. I don't think I would buy this cream personally because I know the stuff doesn't nourish or penetrate deeper than the surface of the skin it does say this on the box which is nice to know. I would possibly consider purchasing the serum in future though. Collagen products are often a bit of a gimmick because the particles are too big to nourish skin below the surface. The cream feels silky which is probably the diamenticone in it.
First up, I am obsessed with the packaging and bottles. I think this is one if the first times where the boxes are similar size to the actual product! I have been using this after the serum each evening for just over a week now. The moisturizer really, really goes a long way - I can see this tub lasting a long time. My skin feels lovely at the time but notice tightness in the morning - is this moisture loss or the Collagen working? I have also began to break out around my chin and cheeks (purge or not the right fit??) Other than this, I am yet to notice any dramatic changes. I will continue tobuse and see what happens.
Tips: A little goes a long way!
This is a fragrance-free moisturiser with a medium-thick silky consistency similar to other jar packaged “soft cremes”, it’s quite hydrating and gentle on my dry/sensitive skin. The jar looks lovely of course Olay products always have sleek packaging, however I’m a bit conflicted as I do prefer bottles for hygiene and stability purposes especially when it comes to active skincare. I’ve been using this cream for a few weeks now and while I’ve not noticed much of a difference in fine lines and wrinkles yet, my skin does perhaps look a little brighter and more even overall. I did find this cream enjoyable to use and it’s not a bad option by any means but I just wasn’t particularly blown away by the results or the formulation, occasionally if I used sunscreen or other products on top it would go patchy or flakey which obviously isn’t ideal. I’m not sure I’d repurchase as in my opinion I think there are better anti-aging products on the market in this price range.
The moisturiser comes packaged in luxurious packaging - a heavy red transparent tub, with a shiny silver lid. The moisturiser itself is white, and is a thicky heavy texture, so a little goes a long way. The texture reminds me a bit of sunscreen - this is difficult to rub into the skin and doesn't absorb quickly, so it is a bit of a pain in the morning if you want to apply make up after using this! I have been using this alongside the matching serum, twice a day. I have found this has made my skin feel hydrated, look more bouncy, refreshed and plump (in a good way), and hasn't upset my dry, sensitive skin. I prefer using this at night as it takes such a long time to absorb. I did find this on quite the greasy side which was a downside for me - if I apply this in the morning and touch my face during the day, I can feel this has left a thick film on my skin and I end up with moisturiser and grease on my nails so I would stay away if you have oily skin! At night this isn't such an issue, so I think in future I would just use this as an intensive night cream. However, apart from the greasiness which may be a dealbreaker for some, this is a good moisturiser which delivers on its 'plump and bouncy' promise, and made my skin look more refreshed and youthful. I'd happily use it again, albeit just as a night cream.
Basic packaging and reasonably priced, look at chemist warehouse. The product was creamy and spread on well without feeling heavy. I didn’t think it made my skin plump and bouncy all day, however lasted over an 8 hour shift. It’s fragrance free which is great for sensitive skin. I will continue to use the product so I can see the effects of the collagen peptides.
I liked the silky smooth texture of the cream and I liked that it was fragrance free. I didn't notice any visable difference to my skin though. Also when I received the cream the lid inside the sealed box was not fastened so the cream had leaked into the box.
Positives - fragrance free.
Now onto the negatives. I’ll start with the packaging! I don’t know why skin care companies continue to package their creams in open containers. Especially Olay who has their Total Effects line in an airless pump. I understand that the glass is lovely but I care more about what’s actually inside than the packaging that it comes in.
The cream itself is just okay. It’s very basic, no fragrance (excellent) and is a standard cream consistency. Neither too thick nor too thin. Now the reason I’ve given this cream one star…
It does not mix well with ANY other skin product except for the matching serum. I first tried it with the matching product and it was fine but my skin felt very dry and tight then next morning. I decided to include my regular products and just switch out my normal moisturiser to see if helped. But it was a disaster. As soon as I applied this cream it turned into a gooey mess. It wouldn’t absorb, it formed gooey patches and I ended up having to wash it off.
For the rest of the trial period I used the cream and matching serum together only. I noticed no positive changes to my skin, only a little more dryness.
Another thing to note is that I have quite reactive skin and this cream was absolutely fine, no sensitivity whatsoever so that’s great!
Tips: Use the matching serum or the cream on its own. Be careful applying with other skin care products that aren’t in the same range.
