Olay Regenerist Collagen Peptide 24 Serum

I loved the sound of this serum, especially since it contained my favourite ingredient - Niacinamide! I have been trying this morning and night for 3 weeks. I love that it is fragrance free especially since my skin is sensitive to fragrance and the packaging is neat and allows for you to control the amount of product you use. I would have liked for the ingredients and percentages to be labelled on the packaging.

It felt nice on the skin and didn't leave any sticky residue. Makeup went on overtop nicely and I didn't have any issues. For the first few days I just used this serum and stopped using my usual products but I just found I wasn't getting enough hydration and my skin started feeling dry. As soon as I added in my other products my skin went back to normal. I just didn't feel I was getting enough hydration from this product.

After 3 weeks of use, I don't really feel like there is any difference to my skin which has surprised me given the ingredients and didn't feel like I was getting enough hydration. I don't think I would repurchase this product.

I’ll start with the positives! This serum is a lovely consistency, it’s silky, smooth and applies to the skin easily without feeling sticky or oily. But that’s pretty much where it ends for me.

At first the packaging seemed quite innovative and easy to use but it really wasn’t. The twisty pump is fiddly and doesn’t always work. I would have preferred a regular pump that dispenses the correct amount of product each time.

This serum does not mix well with any of the other products in my skin care routine so I had to stop using them all while I tried this product (I’ve also reviewed the matching cream which is the only product that does apply with no issues).

It also left a light film on my face sort of like a primer which is fine but is also the reason I couldn’t use my other skin care products as it ended up separating with gooey streaks.

For the two weeks that I trialled this product I didn’t notice any changes in my skin, if anything it felt drier and quite tight in the mornings. I would only recommend this serum to those with oily skin looking for a serum that feels nice. But that’s about it unfortunately!

I have been using this serum every other night for about two months. My skin is sensitive, but in pretty good condition, only fine lines so far. First of all, it is a very different delivery system which took me a while to work out. But it is quite clever. I don't like how you can't see what the level inside the bottle is, I feel like it might run out on me when I'm not expecting it lol. The serum is white and of average consistency. The dispenser dispenses just enough of the serum to cover face and neck. Some days though, I feel like I need more. It hasn't done anything bad to my skin, (which can be reactive), but it hasn't done anything for it either. Would not repurchase.

So let's start from packaging. It really is so gorgeous, bright dark red and so eye caching. I had wow moment when was unboxing. However it really annoys me that I can't see how much product is left. Also the dropper is terrible and I could properly take out the serum only for few days. Now all I can get, are few drops and often I have to touch the dropper to get some serum. Not very hygienic.

The texture is pretty milky consistency, without any scent. It feels very lightweight and I find it absorbs quite fast. I tried using with other serums and it goes well with them.

Only few drops are needed to cover the face, but still this serum will last maximum a month if to use daily.

I love the ingredients. Niacinamide is great for soothing the skin and I find, I break out less since using this serum. It overall makes my skin softer and plump. I haven't noticed much change in skin texture though.

Overall I enjoy using it, however taking into account the price point and useless dropper, I wouldn't purchase it myself.

Packaging: Sturdy dropper bottle, it was cumbersome and not my preferred packaging for a face treatment.

Formula: Off-white, opaque serum, absorbed ok but didn't feel substantial.

Use: The small amount the dropper dispenses just doesn't seem enough for the whole face. I gave it 1-2minutes before applying the moisturiser which when you're short of time in the morning was a little annoying.

Results: Skin feels smoother and there has been a slight improvement in fine lines and shadowing under the eyes.

Final thoughts: I've used Olay products for years but I won't be adding this product to my beauty routine.

Beautiful bottle. So beautiful, it took me about 5mins to figure out how to open it. Then I did, and I felt like an idiot. Shame on me. It’s a very fancy Doppler! The serum itself was nice from the first pump. No fragrance, no stingy irritating sensation. I only used 1 pump per night during the trial as I don’t usually use skincare with Niacinamide in it. I loved the lite creamy milky texture. Circular motions and it was rubbed in in no time. I think it was about day 3 when I noticed the texture of my skin improving. I usually had pimple-like bumps on my forehead, and by day 10 (today) they basically don’t exist! I’m very happy with that. I was also a little oily on the forehead at the time, and the niacinamide has helped balance that out. It’s great to not rub my head during the day and feel greasy. So far, my only downside was that it did make me quite dry. I am usually a little on the dry side, and it is a change of season, but with my previous skincare, I haven’t been “dry” in about a year. If I were to continue using this product, I would reduce it to maybe twice per week.

I enjoyed using this serum. It's light and non-greasy and absorbs really quickly into the skin leaving a fresh, smooth feeling. After using the product morning and night for 3 weeks I noticed my skin's texture had improved - my face was noticeably softer and smoother. I didn't notice much difference in my fine lines (the product claims to smooth these) but overall my skin definitely felt more hydrated and much softer. The pump is a really great feature of the packaging making it simple to get just the right amount of serum with no mess or waste. Having the correct 'dosage' collected as you screw off the lid is a little stroke of genius. I also like that the serum comes in a glass bottle - there's just something about glass that makes it feel more luxurious (and of course, it's not plastic, so that's a huge plus as far as being environmentally friendly goes!). All in all, this was a nice serum that gave my skin a little pick-me-up. I'm happy to add this to my beauty routine.

The design of the packaging bottle of this serum is just like the Olay Regenerest retinol 24 night serum which comes in a blue bottle with a silver screw lid. This serum comes in a red one with silver screw lid. The lids have pump part that pops up as you unscrew the lid. You push the pump on the top of the lid and it sucks up the serum you then take the lid out of the bottle and the tube which is attached has serum loaded into it like a dropper. To disperse the serum onto the skin you push the pump. The silver lid looks metal but it's just plastic and the bottle is glass. The serum is white and feels like to spreads quite easily on the face it didn't feel sticky. I'm not sure about the pump design because It seems like when your using the air it is sucking air which I'm not sure comes from being already in the bottle or if it is sucking in air from outside the bottle potentially contaminating & causing the product to deteriorate? I also felt like when I pumped to suck up the product it was unpredictable how much you had in the tube there fore how much would be dispersed out. As for the serum itself, I think this serum went fine under make up. Usually when I stop using my holy grail anti wrinkle serum frown lines on my head and between my eye brows are quick to reappear but with this serum so far they have not come back strongly which has made me like the serum. The box it came in says skin instantly plumps firms & smoothens fine lines, hydrates for 24hours & improves skin bounciness. This is only up to the epidermis layer of the skin. The issue here is the collagen peptides niacinamide etc don't penetrate past the top of the skin so it doesn't work on nourishing the younger skin it just appears to help the already shedding surface skin. I had already heard to be weary of collagen products in skin care as the particles are too large and just sit on the very top of the skin. Ideally you want to nourish from with in not just the top and penetrate deeper skin layers. Even so, I tested this product at a very stressful time in my life and am content with the results I really thought my skin was going to look bad after the few weeks of using but it doesn't. I did notice one of the first ingredients in this is diamenticone which is in hair conditioner its like a lubricant & gives a silky feeling but it isn't ideal in the long run Its basically silicone I think it could clogg pores as silicone and diamenticone don't fully wash off with out soap and even then can still leave a coating which can prevent other products from absorbing into the skin or hair. Aside from this I like this product but am sceptical of using it long term. It is free from parabens phthalates mineral oil and is 30ml.

So I was confused about how to access the product, but once I figured it out, I found that I quite like the design as it's not one I've seen before and allows you to get the product without risking contamination. The serum is fragrance free, which I don't enjoy personally, but that's not a big deal. The texture is nice enough, thin and not sticky so easy to apply and massage into the skin. I usually use direct acids, but niacinamide is not one of them, as I find it causes my skin to purge - I haven't experienced that with this product though, which is a lovely bonus. Other than not causing a purge I haven't noticed any particular difference in my skins appearance or texture. Overall it's a nice enough serum, but I wouldn't purchase it again

Firstly I had the issue of trying to work out on how to use this product (10 minutes later) I worked out that this is a dropper style applicator and not a pump. Once you open the lid you pump out the serum. I am not a fan of this applicator and find it hard to get the product in the dropper itself.

The serum seem nice to use on the face and is light weight. The only issue is, if you are prone to dryness (wear it can crack open around the nose) Or any open skin imperfections (sores/ acne) This serum can really sting or burn and openness on your face. It has no scent and using with the olay Micro sculpting cream can make your face hydrated during the day. Although I have not notice a huge difference in my fine lines, I do find it fine as a supermarket serum and for the price.
