This was one of my very first products from Urban Decay and like most of my purchases was fuelled following a blog haul. With the promise of hydrating, balancing and creating a youthful appearance and seeing how the bloggers were loving it I needed to try.
Packaging wise it comes in a rough texture bottle of rigid plastic, coloured navy blue with all the details fully recapped on the reverse. The acrylic clear lid was the first thing to disappoint as after removing on first try it decided that it no longer wanted to go back on and stay on, so in the bin the little lid went, no big deal. The green coloured spritz was very effective at delivering a fine spray that covered all my face requiring just 2 spritzes. There is no overpowering scents and it felt just like primer water with no oily residue or resistance to be absorbed, dry time was mere seconds. Applying this before primer to give my face some life and a vitamin boost.
Happily I fell in love with this spray as it did indeed brighten up my dull complexion, kept it hydrated all day and never made my oily areas breakout. Perfect! or so I thought, half way through my 2nd bottle I noticed that my skin started to dull again and that it didn't dry on my face like it used too. Nothing else in my routine had changed and I pushed through the next fortnight thinking it might just be hormones or something, but it never got any better the spray had lost its lustre for me and started to do nothing more than slapping on some water straight from the tap. After finally finishing the 2nd bottle which took me forever as most mornings I just didn't bother with it and found that my makeup help up better and my skin looked better. I emptied it and threw it away deciding that I wouldn't repurchase this again.
Unsure if I had experienced a dodgy batch or if Urban Decay had switched up the formula between bottles but whatever happened it has put me off buying this especially as it isn't readily available in NZ and is expensive when you factor in the exchange rate and shipping extra costs I would want something epic for that price tag.
3 out of 5 all around as it starts of great and does do what it says but just fails to be a constant winner.
Urban Decay are a reputable brand that I really like. When I got a sample of this as a GWP I was really excited to try this out.
The packaging is really pretty, with a purple bottle. The spray nozzle ejects a super fine mist and doesn't assault your face :P
However... I am not sure what this does. Yes it feels super refreshing and cooling on your face when you spritz yourself but I haven't noticed any changes in my skin when using this. My redness (which is one of my biggest skin issues), didn't diminish whatsoever when using this, my pores are still visible after using this and my overall skin texture doesn't change when using this.
In saying that, I like to spray some of this on my face in the morning after moisturising and before applying any makeup. As I mentioned above, this has a lovely cooling and refreshing sensation and it adds just a little bit of moisture back into my dry skin.
Even though it is pleasant to use I wouldn't purchase the full size. I just didn't feel that it lived up to its claims, which is a shame because I really wanted to like this product and for it to do what it said it would.
Tips: Give this a miss.
