I received a 45ml bottle of this divine concoction for my very first Mother's Day- the perfect present for a new mum as it has beautiful mother of pearls contained within the bottle. I adore the bottle's appearance- it is a heavy glass, square bottle with a discreet white logo. The mother of pearl is a gorgeous touch and really helps me to feel decadent and feminine when I use it.
The top notes are bergamot and white pepper, middle notes are rose and jasmine and the base notes are amber, cedar and musk. In my opinion, this equates to the perfect balace of delicate, fragrant florals and sensual sexiness. The scent really warms up on your skin and I find people comment on it all day long.
I really appreciate the philosophy behind the perfume, as they have added essential oils and minerals to help restore your inner peace and to release beta- endorphins which should really help to lift your mood as well. Personally, I find applying perfume is such a lovely 'me' moment that I always feel my mood lift.
Using Valeur Absolue Sensualite is an utter joy- visually, aromatically and emotionally.
I happened upon this piece of heaven whilst waiting for some service at Farmers one day. I didn't end up getting service that particular day (but have had amazing service at the same store since), but I did develop a crush on this scent. So much of a crush that every single voucher/dollar I was given for Christmas went to buying a 45ml bottle of this gorgeousness.
Yes. I love it. Big time.
I've been searching for a scent that suits where I'm at in life. Something that says 'mature' but not 'old', something that says 'sassy' but not 'bubbly', something that says 'ready for anything' but not 'you say jump, i'll say how high'. This perfume says it all. Which is a wee bit funny, because it's meant to represent sensuality, yet to be honest, I never feel sensual when I'm wearing it, I feel unstoppable, which is actually quite a sensual feeling in itself.
The bottle is beautiful, it's really heavy and incredibly solid, which when combined with the beautiful pearls sitting on the bottom of the bottle, give it a real air of expense.
And the scent ... oh the scent. I adore it, more than any other perfume I've ever owned. I don't know if it's an eau de parfum, or eau de toilette, it doesn't say, it's simply called a 'Parfum Elixir de Bien-Etre' - whatever that is...
There's a true depth to this perfume, it's not too sweet, I can definitely pick up rose and jasmine as described, but to my nose there's a tiny hint of citrus too. It's delicious. And it sticks. 24 hours kind of sticks. I've popped it on in the morning and woken up during the night wondering what the lovely aroma is I can smell in the air.
I won't lie, this is not a cheap perfume, but it is worth every single dollar. I can't recommend it highly enough.
Tips: When I bought it the lady at Farmers mentioned it was designed to work with the rest of the Valeur Absolue range, so you can wear more than one on any given day and they'll all work together. Genius.
