V&R are two very talented designers, and I was obsessed with the great packaging. So I had to try it. Unfortunately, this fragrance was WAY too sweet for my liking. Some people love it. I can't smell like that all day, I would literally get sick.

Tips: You'll smell like a candy shop, if that's what you're after.
Ladies - forgive me for writing this review... I know many women love this and I am a little afraid to voice my opinion... (I am kidding ;P).
As part of a Nordstrom order I did, I got a sample bottle of this. I was super excited because I had been wanting to try it out ever since I had heard friends talk about how amazing it is. Not being able to afford a full bottle, I greedily took advantage of the sample Nordstrom were offering.
I can't talk about the packaging because the bottle I got was one of those small spritz bottles. However, in store the bottle for this looks beautiful!
On me, the scent starts off as a sweet floral smell (which isn't something I like). In fact, for the first hour or so of wearing this I really, really don't like it. When the perfume develops, however, the patchoulli notes come out and this turns into a subtle musky scent which is something I really like.
Even though I am not really a fan of overpowering scents, this is much too subtle for my liking. It could be the way that it interacts with my chemistry, but unless I smell exactly where I sprayed this, I can't smell it at all. This might be something you enjoy but I personally like to be able to get a hint of the perfume I am wearing throughout the day.
Even if this were less expensive, I wouldn't buy it because it is too floral and too subtle for my taste. I prefer something more spicy and sexy that has a little more punch.
I've been waiting for ages to finally get some of this after reading so many rave reviews and I just felt really "meh" about it after using it. It's a nice enough scent, quite sweet, which I like BUT I have found it not to last all day which always annoys me, especially when you compare that to the price you pay. not enough bang for your buck IMO. I just don't love it enough to buy again
I purchased 2 perfumes at once and this was one of them as I had heard it was amazing. I love the bottle it comes in that looks like a grenade! It looks very stylish and classy.
The perfume itself is very sweet on me....to the point it is so strong and sickly. No matter how much I apply it is far too strong. I usually wear kama oil so I feel that perfume may just be too much on my skin as I had the same issue with another perfume I purchased. I think I prefer more subtle scents.
While I agree it is a very beautiful and feminine scent unfortunately it is just not for me. I do love smelling it on other people and I would recommend trying it out before you buy it.
This is such a hyped perfume and I was really excited to try it. I ordered a small size to try it out and it was so sweet on me that I just couldn’t handle it. It was horrible. I wore it for a couple of hours to see if it would change or anything and it just kept being gross on me so I had to shower. BUT I have smelled it on other people and it smells different. I still don’t love it but it smells more pleasant than it did on me so it definitely depends on the person! The bottle is absolutely beautiful though!
I heard about this perfume and how beautiful it was. Whenever I read reviews they were raving about this scent. So, I thought I would splash out on a perfume I had never tried (I usually try before I buy). Finally, my online order arrived and I couldn't wait to open the box and wear my new exciting perfume. Disappointment for me. I sprayed it on me and it seemed to have a scent that appealed. This perfume is weak in strength, especially when I prefer to use Angel, Coco Chanel and Gucci Rush. This perfume did not last an hour for me. I would not be taking recommendations from other people or recommending this one and in future, I will be trying before I buy.
I think the hype surrounding this perfume works against it. It is touted as a modern classic, when to be fair, it is fairly generic.
It is possible the EDP may have more 'layers', but the EDT, to me anyway, is just another burnt sugar type of scent, with a hint of patchoulli.
It is very cloying and overly sweet.
Tips: Try before you buy to avoid buying an incredibly expensive dud
This perfume is quite basic and I think there are far more impressive perfumes out there. It smells sweet like a nice shampoo smell and doesn't have a unique fragrance. When sprayed it doesn't last more than 2 hours which is really disappointing considering the price. I own perfumes that are more unique and cheaper and last longer and this is genuinely nothing special.
Don't get me wrong, this is a beautiful bottle of fragrance which I lusted over for until I was given it as a box set for Christmas, the problem I have is because it (at least on me) is such a heady scent I have to really be in the mood to wear it. I found this interesting because intially it is just beautiful sweetness and flower. I just don't find myself grabbing of the bottle as much as some of my other scents. So I think that 1 bottle may last me a life time hahah. The packing it elegant and simple and looks very classy on your vanity.
This fragrance is responsible for giving birth to a generation of super sickly sweet 'trying to be oriental' lolly water fragrances. I give them some credit for giving this a good whack of Patchouli which was a bit different and old school for it's time but other than that it is a mass marketed, over priced and hyped super syrupy diabetes in a bottle scent. I do admit however that I love it's later version Extreme which was a marvellous woody patchouli benzoin, vanillary goodness type of creation. If you want a cheap alternative which practically smells identical get yourself a bottle of Bath and Body works 'Sensual amber' it comes in a large perfumed body spritz for under $25 from several online retailers.
Tips: Revlon pink Happiness 'delicate moments' and Jovan black musk are both cheaper alternatives to flowerbomb.
