I have very fine curly hair that always seems to be a frizzy mess, but since I have discovered this product my hair is no longer frizzy and my curls are defiantly more curlier and defined. Really love this as it's also so easy to use without making your hair greasey or heavy and flat.

Vo5 Smoothly Does It Frizz Free Cream Review
Vo5 Smoothly Does It Frizz Free Cream Review
You have a right to be frizz-free!
Use this soft, non-sticky creme for smooth hair, whether pin straight, wavy or curly. Smooth it midlength to ends if you are wearing your hair down, or use it to tame flyaways if wearing your hair up. And like its VO5 siblings, it helps protect your hair from the damage caused by heated tools.

My mother gave me a basically brand new tube of this cream along with a whole lot of other goodies she didn't use (serial buyer, good for me!!). I have never really used any V05 products before so was interested to see what it was like.
I quite liked the tube - nice pink colour, I also liked the name of it "Smoothly Does it" quite catchy.
I liked the fact that it would protect my hair for blow drying and straightening (as I do both when I wash my hair). The flip top opening is nice and easy to use and better than a screw off lid which can get lost. The smell is lovely I must say, one of the best things about it is the smell. Nice and sweet and perfumey. The consistency is quite light and you only need a small amount (I used about the size of a pea for my whole head), it goes on the hair nicely and doesn't glob or leave bits on your hair which is good.
One thing I noticed with other smoothing creams is that they can make my hair greasy which I really hate - this cream didn't do that on my hair.
It made my hair smell lovely and it seemed to de-frizz quite well, so all-in-all a product that I like and I will continue to use it :)
Tips: Don't use a lot, a little goes a long way
What I like about this and in frizz cream is that it's cheap and it smells nice, doesn't feel too sticky and it's easy to apply through your hair and most importantly, it does an ok job at keeping the frizz at ease.
When I purchased this it wasn't for the purpose of giving me frizz free hair, it was to help keep my braids in place. I had been hunting for a hair cream when I came across this at Kmart, for $5 it was a bargain. For the price I wasn't really expecting much but found it was quite useful for a few things.
I found the scent of this quite strange, for a hair cream it smelt more like a males body wash? Once it dries in my hair it still has that manly fragrance.
The main purpose of this hair cream was for my braids, the formula is thick and sticky which I found it hard to braid with so I mixed it will a little warm water to make it more watery, it made it so much easier to braid and created a wet slippery surface. Once it dries it made my braids look professionally done. After a few weeks the braids started creating fly aways and thats when I used the hair cream to bond them back in.
We've been using this in our household with good results, I apply this to my daughters hair before she goes to school and it prevents her hair from getting messy. As for me I like to use this after I curl my hair, normally when I use heated tools my hair can get frizzy hours later but applying the hair cream prevents it most of the time.
We are on our second tube and one thing that sticks in my mind when I use this is less is more. Use a small amount each time until you are happy with the result, many times Ive squeezed a lot into my hand and its created a goopy sticky mess in my hair.
I will be repurchasing this again despite the smell, it works well and is great for braids too.
Tips: Rub a small amount on your fingertips, apply it to your fly aways and use a small brush to smooth it out, I use this trick with my babies every day.
I usually use a salon brand for protecting my hair from the irons, and I prefer the cream options that a can add to my hair after washing - even if it’s the night before. This product gave me that option, and despite my bed head does tame the frizz the next morning. It’s lightly scented, so doesn’t overpower your perfume, and easy to apply evenly through damp hair. My only issue is that if you want to skip a days wash, you need to grab the dry shampoo on day 2, as it becomes a bit heavy and can give your hair a matt finish. I do find that one washed out I haven’t got that split end feeling when you know the irons are causing breakage, so it does provide protection.
Tips: Apply sparingly, a little goes a long way
I purchased this because it was on sale and because I'm always looking for products to help tame my thick frizzy hair. The product comes in an easy to use tube and it looks pretty in pink. I absolutely loathe the smell though. The packaging boasts a "fabulous new fragrance" which is far from the truth. The frizz free creme smells like a men's product and the smell is very strong, it reminds me of Lynx and I hate having my hair smell like Lynx all day after using this. Although this is supposed to be applied to wet hair before blow drying or straightening, I usually apply it to my dry hair before straightening as this does not make my hair sticky or oily so I can get away with it. I have found that it does help protect my hair from the straightener as my hair gets more rough when I do not use this. This definitely helps my hair straightening to hold better and it makes my hair feel sleeker and smoother which makes it easier to straighten. It has also reduced frizz in my hair immensely. Whenever I have used this during straightening, I tend to get more compliments on my straightened hair as the frizz free cream tends to make my hair look straighter and sleeker. I wouldn't repurchase this though because I hate the smell, despite the fact that the product works for me.
Tips: Only use a small amount as this can weigh your hair down.
I didn't care too much for the smell, and found it ok it didn't seem to last that long. I would only use it if I was in a real hurry for a quick tidy up. I did like that the container has a decent lid on it the shuts easily.
I have been searching for a frizz free product that I am happy with.
This is ok. It's better than some but still not amazing. It doesn't make my hair look as greasy as some of the other de-frizzers I have tried but my hair does still look a bit greasy. The frizz look also has come back a few hours later but my hair still has a greasy shine.
The tube stay firmly shut which is good for carrying in your bag.
Other than that I wasn't hugely impressed and I will keep looking for the perfect product.
I bought this product from New World for $6.99. It is the first frizz-free product I’ve tried, so I have nothing to compare it with.
It comes in a cool pink tube with a pop top, the same colour and type as the VO5 smoothly does it shampoo.
After washing my hair, I squeeze some product into my hand and smooth through my hair before blow drying. The result is smoothish frizz-free hair, with a little added length, as the weight seems to straighten it a bit. It seems to give it a little extra body after using straighteners as well.
I don’t really mind the smell, it smells like hair product (which is often a bit pongy) and I don’t notice it after my hair is dry.
The frizz reduction only lasts during the evening on which I’ve used it – by the next morning when I wake up it’s back to frizzy again.
The product says it protects and styles super sleek looks. Hmm, I wouldn’t say my hair looks super sleek, I wish it did, but it has had a hard life so I can’t expect a miracle.
On balance, I’d say this frizz free cream works for me as well as I would expect, as it does reduce frizz and improves the look of my hair. I expect it will be better still when I purchase a better hair dryer too!!
I think this is a good product, and economical, and most definitely worth a try for people wanting to reduce frizz. I’ll be keen to try other products of this type in the future and see how this one compares.
Having naturally curly thick hair that has a coarse texture means that frizz is a normal battle that I deal with each day, so I need a cream that I can smooth on fresh out of the shower that does not go crispy or weigh my hair down once dried as I prefer to air dry which helps my curls find their natural way to look good.
I love this cream as not only does it not weigh the hair down but it emphasis the curls helping them to hold all day with no frizz breakouts that make my hair look like it has been fried. It does work good as a heat protector as well on those moments when I need to blow dry my hair a good dose of this cream run through the ends helps it poofing out and becoming an uncontrollable mess.
