This is a good option for the those that are cost-conscious. I find that I need to use a lot of the product to get a good glow - this isn’t too much of a problem though because you get a fair amount of product in one container. I also found it’s a very “loose” powder, it doesn’t stick to your skin particularly well. Not a bad option, but you pay for what you get!

Tips: I find it works better using my fingers to blend it in rather than a brush.
I have to be honest I only bought this product 2 days ago and it’s pretty good. It’s quite a subtle highlighter but is definitely buildable so can be more striking with a heavier hand. I love the colour as it’s a great everyday highlight that would suit most skin tones. It has lasted a good 6 hours before fading slightly but I did have to apply a lot of product. It comes in a slim plastic container which fits perfectly inside any makeup bag. I will definitely buy this again as it was a great price but it’s definitely not the best low priced highlighter I’ve tried. Wet N Wild are a great brand and are cruelty free which isn’t always the case with many lower priced brands but it definitely tries to read reviews before committing to any of their products .
Tips: Use a firm brush as a lighter brush just won’t pick up enough product
I really enjoy this highlighter as the price was really good and you get a lot of product for said price. I wouldn't call it the most subtle of highlighters as there is a fair amount of shimmer to this so use sparingly. I like that this comes in a small variety of different shades and that if subtlety wasn't what you were going for, then this highlighter is bomb
Tips: Use sparingly as a little can go a long way. The product is sometimes a bit hard to get out of the pan so a finger or short stiff brush is good to use.
I had to try this highlighter after hearing rave reviews about it. I actually checked out it's price in both NZ and the US before buying it in NZ because it worked out about the same in both places once you converted the currency.
The highlighter is a great affordable highlighter that does really does make your face glow.
I've found that the highlighter suits my skin best when I have a tan, as then the colour blends in slightly more naturally, but that is a personal preference thing.
The packaging is simple and fairly cheap, but because this is a cheap drugstore brand that packs a punch, the packaging works for the brand.
All in all, I've found other highlighter that suit my skin tone slightly better but none this affordable. If they offered a larger range I think they'd be even more successful.
I like this bronzer it went onto my brush very smooth without it crumbling to much. It made a metalick kind of shimmer on my skin. It looked a little bit to dark for my light skin (for me).
All in all a very good bronzer and a nice colour
I have this in Golden Flower Crown which is a gold almost bronze kind of colour. Normally I prefer a pinker highlighter but I was given this one in a treat box. When I first started using it I thought it was a very subtle shimmer and had to use at least 3 swipes to get any colour on my olive skin for my cheekbones and down my nose. Then I realised I hadn’t been pressing hard enough with my brush and worked out it was a lot more effective with one swipe for each cheek and a firm hand. It’s a lovely golden sheen and will last through to the end of day although the pan might quickly get used up with picking a lot of product up. I think this brand is fairly inexpensive so I’d been keen to try again with different shades once this one is finished.
Tips: Try using it as a all-over shimmer bronzer but with a light dusting only when you just want to warm up your face but not wear a full foundation.
I bought Precious Petals from the WetnWild website (before it was available in NZ) for $USD4.99. When it comes to the packaging you get what you pay for with the plastic compact that is prone to scratches.
In the pan the product appears to be a semi frosty light peach so naturally I started to regret my decision thinking it may prove to be too ashy on me. The texture is smooth with only a bit of kick up when I use a tapered brush.
On my skin it’s a soft warm gold peach with a touch of shimmer which is similar to two other highlighters in my collection; Becca Champagne Pop and Dose of Colors Fuego. It’s not just a great dupe but also the quality is on par with Becca but for a fraction of the cost! The only difference with the WNW highlighter is that it gives off an intense metallic sheen so I would recommend using a fan brush to build up the desired intensity.
This highlighter can emphasise texture on my skin but it doesn’t bother me too much (after all it’s a highlighter not a concealer!). It last 6+ hours over my face paint which is quite good considering I have oily skin. If you’re on a budget and would like to get a ‘high-end quality’ product I recommend buying Precious Petals.
I was on the hunt for this highlighter for ages! When I finally saw it I grabbed it as it has only had amazing reviews. When I first tried it out i was blown away!! The shine it gives you on your skin is so beautiful and amazing! If you just want a subtle glow use a very very light hand. Also it is incredibly affordable and how cute is the imprint in the product! All in all I love this product!
Tips: Apply over a cream/liquid highlighter for the shine to the gods highlight!
I've been wanting to try this for ages and was so happy to see it in stock during my last trip to Farmers.
First of all the packaging is pretty basic - black plastic with a clear plastic cover. The product makes up for this simplicity (and I guess when you're paying 12.99 you can hardly expect fancy materials to be used).
I love the pattern on this highlighter and it hurts me to think one day it will be gone - but gone it will as this has quickly become the highlighter I reach for every day. On my skin there's no noticeable colour change, BUT there is this gorgeous natural glow - no chunky glitter, it blends right in.
If you're wanting to be seen from outer space, this might not be for you, but if you're wanting something natural yet that has impact, pick it up for sure!
I bought this on a whim at farmers and regret it. While it’s pretty in the pan, the shade is too orange for pale skin and leaves a dark orange line on your skin if you’re out of the sunlight. I’ve found it doesn’t take much for it to leave the mark.
Tips: Swatch before buying to see if it will leave a mark out of sunlight Buy if you don’t like a lot of high light
