Wild Ferns Rotorua Mud face pack Review
Wild Ferns Rotorua Mud face pack The ultimate treatment for your skin. These face packs contain the absolute maximum content of Rotorua's geothermal mud in its purest form and are enhanced with Active AAH650+ Manuka honey. The mud is creamy and velvety smooth and full of highly concentrated natural minerals to make it extremely therapeutic as well as detoxifying, purifying, healing and also remineralising. When combined with the powerful antibacterial and antioxidant properties of Manuka honey, it works to deeply cleanse the skin and restore tone and vitality so that your complexion is noticeably refreshed and revived.
Directions Must be used on a clean skin. Apply evenly to the face avoiding the eye area and keeping clear of the hair line and mouth. Sit and relax for approximately 10 – 15 minutes while the face pack dries and draws out the impurities. It will start to feel tight and will gradually lighten in colour as it dries. When it is a mottled light and dark grey it is ready to remove. Do NOT allow it to dry to a complete light grey/white colour.

I found this at a gift shop in Rotorua recently. It's a grey mud with a slightly nicer scent than standard mud.
I found the whole directions of remove at mottled light and dark grey a bit confusing. And I also found that it dried out to clear faster than in 15 minutes.
I found the mud mask quite soothing, but I can't say it had any visible effects on my skin.
The packaging is nice and simple and very natural New Zealand. It's also a user friendly tube.
A nice tourist product.
Mud. Mwahah tricked you. Mud face masks are the only time it's "acceptable" for an adult to play with mud. I bought my mud from the gift shop at Te Puia (a geyser park) in Rotorua. I think I paid $25 for my tube, which isn't a steal, but hey, I was on holiday!
The tube is a gorgeous matte grey with a shiny silver lid. The product is also grey, but it is creamy and smells nothing like mud, or the wonderful sulfuric geysers, thankfully! It is a runny sort of cream, and feels very luxurious. I apply it to a clean face, and wait. You aren't supposed to let it dry properly, and I'm not sure why that is, the box doesn't say.
One thing I don't like about this product is that when you put it on and rub it around, it's like it doesn't seem to stick to the skin, rather it just moves around and makes you use more product to cover up the spots you 'missed'.
The mud dries slightly and does feel tight, but to be quite honest I haven't noticed it doing anything for my skin. I suppose the smell is sort of therapeutic, and the thought of putting mud on my face willingly always makes me happy. I have a big raging pimple on my chin, so I'm going to come back tomorrow and edit this, and we will see how it goes!
So I think I know why you shouldn't leave it to dry til white - my face got super itchy! I removed the product and I had a red lump on my forehead - something that wasn't there before! My pores still look the same so it's a so-so kind of product, but I'll keep using it just to use it I guess!
This isn’t the first product I have used from there range.
I love mud masks and liked the simple nature looking labeling. It was a bit confusing on how long to leave it on as I normally would leave It on till the colour changed and it had gone hard.
I didn’t notice all that much difference in my skin which was disappointing. Still a nice little pick me up as your still relaxing or in my case multitasking as I put it on before I start my housework.
I came across the Wild Ferns Rotorua Mud face pack when I was down in Rotorua and then I discovered it’s also sold up here in Auckland in souvenir stores. After hearing about the benefits of the Rotorua thermal spring mud, I decided to try this out. It comes boxed in a grey tube.
I follow the instructions on the box. I apply the Rotorua Mud on a clean face and spread it out evenly on my face. I wash it off before it completely dries, otherwise it becomes difficult to wash off. I use it once a week and my skin has significantly improved and helped my scars due to breakouts. I use it once a week to resurface dirt and oil that’s deep within my skin, due to the makeup I wear. My skin feels soft and smooth and looks clear after using it.
The Wild Fern Rotorua Mud face pack is a great product, I love it! It’s made right here in New Zealand and not tested on animals. The price is also reasonable, so no reason not to try it!
Tips: Use a face cloth to wash it off, otherwise it takes too long to remove it once it's completely dried.
