I heard journalists talking about child labour in the beauty industry. It seems to be around accessing ingredients and I wonder if anyone can enlighten us and share any of the industries who are known not to source ingredients where child labour is an issue?

This is a worry and you also have to look at the poverty in the country and what can be done to help.

I hope its ok to share this link. It outlines the 5 ingredients linked to child labour. And makes me feel guilty about my daily chocolate and coffee. I need a big re -think .. but I'm also worried about what happens to these children if their work disappears, that they might have no food or money. Food for thought ..

Interesting, mica would be hard to replicate. Palm oil we don't need that and it destroys orangutans homes. Is cocoa used for colour? As well as fragrance.
Definitely need to pay them more and if they didn't have jobs what would they do? It's a tough one. Though every child should have the right to an education. We are very lucky where we live.

Yes MareeB some of these countries rely on the child labour. It is so hard for us to visualise but it is something that we all should be aware and look at ways to support if we can.
