Just a quick question wrt microwaving Pataks Pappadums ... What do you ladies heat them up on?  I put mine between two paper towels last night and then put the paper towels and pappadum onto a side plate in the microwave.  I needed to heat up four, so did them individually, but used the same paper towel and side plate, transferring the heated ones to a serving platter.  Problem is, while heating the fourth one, my microwave safe plate cracked in half in the microwave!

Do you just heat yours on the paper towel on the glass turntable? Or do you use a plate as well? ... I'm just wondering if the plate had a flaw that caused it to crack, or if I'm going to break more plates in the near future.

yes, i do paper towels - 2 with a pappadum between, 25 secs on one side and 20 on the other, individually.

So we had last nights leftovers tonight, and I got to try heating the pappadums in the microwave again.

25 seconds one side, 20 seconds the other only worked last night, with the plate (but then the plate cracked).  Heating the first one for that long in between two paper towels on the turntable, no plate, resulted in a badly scorched pappadum.

20 seconds one side, 10 seconds the other produced a perfectly golden, crispy one.

Thanks, ladies.

Different microwaves work differently.... the 25/20 in mine with no plate works perfectly. I think I even got that 45 seconds off the packet but added my own twist by flipping them partway through.

trial and error is always the best bet

I ended up having a potato chip sandwich lol.

ive just had an early dinner, I defrosted some cooked chicken meatballs from a few weeks ago and diced them up, made a new sauce and added some onion, mushroom, spinach and herbs. Ended up with a pasta dish that was really tasty and has enough leftovers for tomorrow

Well I just got the new Whittaker's chocolate too as I actually managed to find it as I didn't go to the supermarket nearest the Whittaker's factory (they're always the last to get limited edition Whittaker's lol). I haven't tried it yet as I got a donut on the way home.

I was going to look for the Gingerbeer chocolate when I went grocery shopping this morning.  Silly me forgot to put it on the shopping list, so I never even thought to look once I was in the store.

Homemade pizza for us tonight (cheese, mushroom, tomato and chorizo) ... I'm looking forward to that, so I guess I'd better start making the dough now.

I did make a batch of oatmeal raisin cookies this morning, and they're good. It's the first time I've ever made (or eaten) oatmeal raisin. Surprisingly, they're better than I expected.

Always great to have an ice cream recommendation.
Also homemade pizza here too.

And an interesting observation about the proximity of Whittaker's to the supermarket. I never noticed that when I was living out that way.

soozie - interesting. Being animated put me off possibly, the only animated movies I've voluntarily watched since I hit adulthood are the Miyazaki Hayao ones I used to show in Japanese class

Yeah idk what it is. Its not the 'cartoons are for kids' thing it's probably the same reason I struggle with new TV shows - find it hard to relate to the characters

I did my lemon almond pasta tonight, I nearly got UberEats, then I cooked, then UberEats sent me a voucher so we know what I'm doing tomorrow lol

UberEats fail again. They're absolutely useless. They email me a code and when I try to use it the app says I'm not eligible to use the code I was emailed BY THEM. There's no obvious place to lodge a query, so I Facebook message them and get told to ask through the app. I ask how and get ignored.

So I've ordered pizza coz at least the hell code works
