I got the same pizzas as last week and also I got loaded waffle fries last minute bc they sounded amazing.

back to chicken salads etc from Monday, just having a weekend of whatever when it comes to food - and very much enjoying it. To the extent that I somehow got bbq sauce on my eyebrow

Lol yo yammitty yams.

I had leftover pizza followed by this hella weird ice cream I accidentally bought that has potato chips in it.

Probs too much sugar as I had cake (chocolate in Dads memory) for lunch but oh well

Sounds like a good excuse to get KFC.

I did not feel like cooking tonight after the long drive home so pulled a frozen cannaloni portion and a steam fresh vege bag out of the freezer. Sometimes you gotta love the reheating powers of the microwave.

Complete side note. I see the classic Australian Women's Weekly birthday cake book has just turned 40. The train, the doll, the swimming pool. So many great birthday cakes have come out of that book. The one I haven't had which I must make is the duck with the chippie beak.

such a kiwi/aussie kid rite of passage, getting bday cakes from that book!

If you're doing the chippie beak then pringles are perfect lol

I think the dolly varden (? - basically a barbie with a cake skirt) and the swimming pool ones were my faves as a kid.

Spicy Portuguese Caldo Verde with Broa for us tonight ... It was delicious but it's giving me hectic heartburn, and the leftovers are going in the freezer for nights when I'm too busy to cook.

oh yum pasta bake.

i have to head out soon to 'people actually touching you' physio (ew, scary, been online with it for a month) so dinner will depend on how quickly i need to get myself home to shower.

Either gonna be the lasagne and salad i have in the fridge waiting to go, or something i buy on the way home.

Has anyone cooked Ling fish before?  My neighbour has just given me to pieces of fresh Ling fish fillet, so I guess we'll be having Ling tonight but I have no idea how to cook it or what to serve it with.

I've googled a few recipes and am leaning towards pan fried (in a little butter) and served with toast and salsa, seeing as we're having last nights leftover Chicken & Leek Pie with chips for lunch (so won't really need a big dinner).  Just curious to see how others cook and serve their Ling.

My partner works at sea so I've had ling many times. I'm a bit boring when I do it and I pretty much always crumb it, Mrs Rogers does a nice lemon crumb or even coat and cook. Then I just pan fry it. I usually just do fish and homemade chunky chips with some greenery :-)

Lol, Shaz. Yup, it's an ugly looking fish but apparently good eating. Thankfully it came over the fence pre-filleted so I didn't have to see what the fish looked like, otherwise it may have been a nope from me, too.

I'm currently addicted to crispy chicken noodle salad but plan to change that soon to lower my carb intake . So far I've managed to shred 10kg.
