And I've lost maybe 5kg in the past month, which isn't bad when I can't really exercise at all thanks to my foot not working :/

my philosophy atm is that food is for nourishment and enjoyment and so there are no food or bad foods, but balance is good. I'm loosely calorie counting but  with injury, anxiety, lockdown and all the rest I'd rather be a little heavier and a little happier right now

Ooh there's a show called One World Kitchen on atm, and my friend is one of the cooking presenters! So random flicking on the TV and seeing her face

Great going Macs. I do have to be honest and drop some weight. Some advice to you younger ladies. If you are wanting to drop a few kilos don't before menopause,  it is harder than anything I have ever tried to do.

I meant to say...do it before menopause.  Everything is harder once that sets in.

The amount of wine I drank during lockdown was ridiculous @shazatron101!
Definitely working it off now, but man did I enjoy myself :)

Eek - I've having a hysterectomy later this year so wondering how the whole early menopause might come into it - will have to get the weight off before then

I'm having a hysterectomy next month  .... I'll have to watch my eating and wine while I can't run it off lol, so have been increasing my salad consumption and dialling back chocolate in preparation. Some days it's hard though!

I had a hysterectomy 14 years ago. They left my ovaries so I didn't go through early menopause.  Unfortunately I still had most of the "symptoms " except the heavy bleeding.

That's a bit crappy Kimrose, having to go through it all twice. Thinking of you. xx Hopefully this surgery solves the problem. I find out on 22nd how invasive it will be for me - I lost an ovary at 18 and since then my system has malfunctioned fo 25 yrs, so feel relieved theres might at the end of a super long tunnel, but a tiny bit of worry with something so major ... not #dinnerchat - sorry ladies .....but we do My Food Bag - My Choice every week which we love as a family for meals. My 5 year old loves tofu - which is crazy! My hubby hates tofu haha

i tell you what, i might be getting weekends off but today by lunch break i'd:

- done a rehearsal and a live recording of a presentation in Japanese, via Zoom, to Japan
- recorded a video in Te Reo Maaori challenging my team to memorise our karakia
- answered emails and messages in English
- participated in our Te Reo Maaori competition (we have about 700 schools nationwide taking part this year)
- drank like 3 coffees

On a quick break now then I have:

- a japanese presentation (another one)
- a meeting about all things Maaori
- a hurried admin session in English

Needless to say, after all that, dinner will be a simple affair, probably chicken and salad
