Yes the caramel is good. I think they do the lemon one too which is my fave.

Why do they have to make every caramel product salted these days like bugger off

I personally LOVE the piako vanilla bean yogurt mm-mm so darn good

I also love a pumpkin lasagna, but I do a homemade one with mashed pumpkin, parsnip and carrot, baby spinach and either a white sauce or cottage cheese.

Vanilla Bean is nice too. I often get that in the 'healthy' lower fat yoghurt because it tastes dessert-like.

@worldofsooziewong, I thought I'd forgotten an ingredient!  It had 500g beef mince in it.  I bought the mince on one of those Countdown 'buy 3 for $20' specials.  So with the mince, each portion of lasagne works out to around $2.61 per portion.

Definitely buying the caramel again and will pick up the vanilla bean one too. Was looking for a dessert type product to replace a bikkie obsession i have atm.

Silvene I must be a right piggy cause I reckon a 500g mince lasagne would only do 3 portions in my house hehe

500g chicken mince ( i don't really eat red meat) makes up to about 6-8 portions of spaghetti sauce in my kitchen, but i cram veges into it as well, usually a bunch of mushrooms, grated courgette and carrot, a whole onion, sometimes some eggplant, often some riced broccoli etc

Haha @ Jackie! We eat that in one sitting also. There's only 2 of us!

I add a can of lentils to make my mince go further plus its extra protein.

@JackieMackenzie, the large brown onion, two grated carrots and a cup of chopped celery bulk it up quite a bit.

I completely do not get the 'salted' caramel either Shaz. Just good ole fashioned caramel for me ..covered with choc preferably!

i don't mind the odd feed of brussels sprouts  - i think the generation before us gave them a bad image after they'd had to eat them boiled and yuck.  They're great with salt and butter, bacon, gravy etc, or roasted yeah!

I can't say I've ever eaten roasted Brussel sprouts.  I only ever had boiled ones as a child/teen and that was enough to put me off for life.  Maybe I should try them sometime.  I do t even know where to find them ... Lol!  Do you buy them frozen and then roast them, or is fresh better?

Silvene I buy fresh as too much water comes out of the frozen ones and they just are not as good imo :-) Mmmmmm I love roast yams too!

Thanks, ladies.  I'll keep an eye out for fresh Brussel sprouts next time I do a roast.

It's our wedding anniversary today, so hubby and I went out for lunch. I had a prawn and chorizo spaghetti dish with lemon dressing, which tasted better than it sounds.  It's been about 8 years since I last ate prawns!  There was no need for me to cook dinner after a big lunch, just defrosted some homemade soup (spicy bacon, butternut & bean).

I hated brussel sprouts growing up as they were just boiled (yuck). I put them in a bacon hock soup/casserole one and OMG - massive game changer. Then I put them in one of those oven bags with a whole chicken and cooked them. Seriously, why were they never cooked like this when I was a kid, being missing out all these years ha ha ha.

It's so funny that everyone had a bad experience with Brussels as a kid lol! I got yams today because someone mentioned them yesterday :-) So tonight is roast yams, brussels, parsnips with a Moroccan chicken breast.

Golly I don't even know what I'm going to do for dinner tonight. I usually have a rough meal plan for the week but haven't got round to one this week. Egg and chips does sound easy and tasty though so I could be tempted.

I'm looking at making some caramel cupcakes tomorrow.
