Not quite as nice as an actual bidet or a bidet toilet seat, a cheaper option is a bidet hose that connects to your existing toilet's cistern.
Just thought I'd pop that here for those seriously considering it. We don't have one, but would love to get one, and can't install the hose type because we're on tank water and not mains (not enough pressure).

Thanks, Silvene - that sent me down a rabbit hole lol. Those are the Thai style ones (honestly, I could write a book about toilets around the world lol). They take a bit manoeuvring to get it right and not spray yourself from head to toe as the pressure on them is very strong. Also be would be very cold in winter here! They're good for washing your feet in a wet area bathroom though lol.
However, the "you might like this" links on the bottom of the page, led me to this: https://www.bunnings.co.nz/evekare-water-powered-bidet-toilet-seat_p0117214 (sorry but can't creat hyperlinks on an iPad). You gotta go,and read the reviews. I literally laughed out loud. I think you would enjoy them in particular, Shaz! And damn, why did I finally decide to replace my toilet seat last year and not know about these! If anyone gets one, please write a review lol.

Lisa Lou, Japanese baths are a different shape. They're short and deep so you can't stretch your legs out but the water is up to your neck - bliss! Most come with timers to fill the bath when you want, and stop filling once it's full and will keep the water at your desired temperature. Mine didn't do any of that, I just liked how deep it was, especially in the middle of winter. Otherwise it was three showers a day in summer!
